reeeee why not hell bent edition i thought we were meant to be discussing doctor who waaaaaaa guess ill just go back to gallifreybase where "fun" isn't allowed

For context...

...

A dress conveys elgance in a way that a grey coat doesn't. Yes, the coat is still a stylish piece of clothing, but that's what you'll invariably get with your hugely marketable main character's costume.
>that would never be practical for anything?
A coat can be removed with ease. Ask David Tennant.

>XP is retro
fuck

>No obviously mirrored background
This is sorely lacking.

So can a dress. :)

I should have also flipped the TARDIS image the wrong way for full authenticity.

I'm about to watch The Doctor, the Widow and the Wardrobe.

>stylish
>marketable

Not the same thing. He-Man's look is not one that has ever been in fashion.

Why?

I think they're almost certainly going to cause unintended offense to trans people and feminists alike, which is something to keep watching for.

The Curse of Peladon is still on in the streamo, we're on part 1 cytu.
be/r/casualwhostream

I think you're fucking dumb.

I never said they were the same thing. My point is that the Doctor will always look broadly stylish so as not to preclude marketability. Well, along with the fact that we'll be looking at them for ten episodes a year.
>inb4 "Six wasn't stylish!"

>mentions The Curse of Peladon
>uses a shot from The Green Death

fucks sake

call for help

reminder that /who/mas

>2016+1
>Windows

None of the Doctors have been stylish. StyliZED, sure. Stylish, not really. Apart from Pertwee, and he still looked ridiculous.

Just part of my chronological marathon of Doctor Who from beginning to end. I was seeing large chunks of Classic Who for the first time, but now I'm on NuWho, which I'm a veteran of. I'm watching it at a pretty fast rate so I finish it before TUAT.

why are they having a woman doctor when they can't show tits or ass, let alone cunt?

>Make no mistake, this puts the Doctor on the trans spectrum
Here's a list of other things that are on the "trans spectrum" by your standards
Clownfish
Mandarin Wood ducks
Most snails
Any bird with an infected ovary that became a male
Every single sea cucumber
Every single horseshoe crab
Bluehead wrasse
And probably a shit ton of other animals that we haven't observed going through a form of hermaphroditism yet

You heard it, all of these animals are transgender now

Why do you have a brain when you can't show a trace of human intellect?

Maybe "aesthetically appealing" would be more appropriate. While also being recognisable as, y'know, clothing. Unlike He-Man.

do we have a list of stuff to watch in the stream during the /who/hiatus?

>tenth planet
>WEAT/TDF
>adult life skills
>

Also, I'd definitely argue that One, Three, Seven, Eight, Ten, Eleven, and about 50% of Twelve's costume variants are 'stylish', according to the dictionary definition. Four skirts the line.

youtube.com/watch?v=BZ0GOJZkTw8

Is this cringekino ?

You mean the Doctor wears stuff you'd like to wear, that's not really.. I mean, you're a fan, of course he does. You'd even wear Six's coat for a giggle, and so would I, that proves nothing.

He-Man's clothes are clearly clothes - they're not his flesh or some bizarre exoskeleton, ergo, they're his duds.

All of those are on Christmas Day. If we can find rips of it anywhere, I'd be willing to make a Boxing Day list too with Trust Me.

youtube.com/watch?v=boEQuRWFKj0

is this the first time they've ever shown a bit of the regeneration in the trailer

Antigone with Eccles and Jodie
Much Ado About Nothing with Tate/Tennant

Let's be honest, they weren't thinking of Mandarin Wood ducks when they made this decision.

that 12 in the snow makes me kek because he's just looking down like

>ah fuck I'm lost again

I'd rather watch Jodie's stuff after Christmas, once she's actually become the Doctor and spend the time before it saying goodbye to Twelve/Capaldi. IIRC we were planning a Capaldi era rewatch in the run-up to Christmas.

You know what I mean about He-Man.
>You'd wear Six's coat for a giggle
Speak for yourself, m8.
Look, I think it's hard to argue that Ten isn't fashionable. The other Doctors, with the notable exception of Six (and in my opinion Five, but that's a different debate), all wear clothes that are aesthetically designed to be cool to look at. They make the character look cool and they generally follow basic fashion rules while also being idiosyncratic. That's an obvious byproduct of being designed by a professional costume designer. You really don't think any of the Doctor's outfits are aesthetically appealing?

>The TARDIS is on fire....just like the other times....
except for everyone from 1-9

They might be cool to look at, but they really don't make him look cool, as in "look at that cool motherfucker", they make him look slightly out-of-it. Did you think "fezzes are cool" was just a statement of fact?

>with the notable exception of Six (and in my opinion Five, but that's a different debate), all wear clothes that are aesthetically designed to be cool to look at.
Six's blue gear is neat desu

>they make him look slightly out-of-it
isn't that the idea since he's an alien

Yes, that's the idea, that's what I'm saying. He's not meant to look cool/stylish. You think he does because you're a fan, but guys who dress with those proportions to their clothes - I don't mean cosplayers, I mean guys who go for that Victorian eccentric silhouette - draw eyerolls from fashionable and normal people alike. Only in a sci-fi show would someone dressed like Pertwee not get a constant accompaniment of heckles from passing motorists.

>it took 40 episodes to see the time vortex in the Capaldi era

Why does the time vortex have BENDS now? It never did in the seventies.

>I mean guys who go for that Victorian eccentric silhouette - draw eyerolls from fashionable and normal people alike
I beg to differ, Reviewbrah makes a living off it

wasn't the vortex just a bunch of flashing lights in the 70s

also go away Clayton

>regeneration inside the Tardis again

It better at least be in one go now

Dubs choose what Big Finish story i listen to

what if the TARDIS lurches while the Doctor is regenerating and he ends up unconsciously stumbling out of the doors while he's aflame, and Jodie's first appearance is just an unconscious freefall to Earth before waking up at the last second with an "oh shit" look on her face

Horror of Glam Rock

Watch porn instead

Home Truths

pirates

Mastermind

The Silver Turk

1963: The Space Race

The Curse of the Sneed

None because Big Finish is for children.

The Memory Cheats

a bad one

The Force Awakens

The title sequences of season 11-17? No, they were great effects shots.

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure

As interesting as that would be, I don't think Doctor Who is that kind of show so It's highly unlikely

I'm referring to when it was seen in-show

Yes, Reviewbrah makes a living from nerds who find him funny. He isn't a fashion tipster.

The rapey one.

>implying Lance Parkin's son isn't a fashionista outside of Youtube

>He isn't a fashion tipster.
again I beg to differ

They used some of that footage for the vortex in one story, can't remember which. Anyway, the point is that the vortex, even when done with much more basic effects, didn't have bends in it like a vacuum cleaner attachment. Makes time seem claustrophobic desu.

Night Thoughts

Preview pic from the christmas special.

Even were that true, he's not wearing long Victorian coats, high-waisted trousers, frilly shirts, wing collars, or any of the other weird duds the Doctor has been seen in.

>didn't have bends in it like a vacuum cleaner attachment.
what about Colin's titles
youtube.com/watch?v=oGIu74VwqYc

because we have better effects now

If you're going to make fakes, can't they at least show intelligible sex acts?

>wing collars
>long Victorian coats
>high-waisted trousers
pretty sure I've seen him in these

I don't see any corner-turning bends in the tunnel.

I've got the fullsize of this

The Gallifrey audios

For a lark on videos maybe, not trying to make a straight fashion statement.

The Doctor dresses in a way which IRL would make him an attention-seeking anus. Let it go, my friend.

Fuck you, i hate you for this

You have to listen to all of them now. In order, with no breaks.

youtube.com/watch?v=yVaZjaLSJjw

What did he mean by this?

You monster!

it's not even well done, the clips are obviously from different cameras, let alone the quality of the clips and the fact that capaldi's hair and costume changes

>so many piss yellow filters in the rtd era

Is that what people thought the sun looked like back then?

>piss
Apologise.

>torchwood was filmed in HD
>RTD Who didn't get HD until the Tennant Specials

>and they still looked like shit

>no they didnt

indiewire.com/2017/04/doctor-who-review-thin-ice-season-10-episode-3-recap-spoilers-1201810880/

Oh man, I love that clip! I hadn't seen it in forever, thanks for posting it again!

>the cinematography is really lacklustre compared to what we got immediately after in series 5 and onwards

theguardian.com/global/2017/apr/09/pearl-mackie-doctor-who-interview-companion-not-many-like-me-on-tv

>She questions things that haven’t been questioned in a really long time, which is fun.” Bill will also be openly gay. “It shouldn’t be a big deal in the 21st century. It’s about time, isn’t it?”

>She maintains a vigorous Twitter account which doesn’t shy away from tweets of a political bent, referencing Black Lives Matter and talking about both Trump and Brexit.

>“I just think you can’t not have an opinion about the current state of the world and if I’ve got a slight platform to raise awareness about things, then that’s a great thing to use it for.”

Powerful stuff.

This is true. The S4 specials and S5 were filmed on the exact same cameras as well.

can we have a virgin vs chad meme except the virgin is user and the chad is neo

You do realise you're pretty much doing the exact same thing she's talking about in the article by using this platform to raise awareness about ess jay double yous

Always a good quote

I don't know who exactly you're trying to bait here? This is a Doctor Who general, we've been through these articles many times before.

On the subject of virgin/Chad memes, I want to see a "virgin Whittaker/Chad Capaldi" made from that filming pic of Jodie doing pretty much the exact Virgin walk with her head pointed towards the ground and everything

>when you let a youtuber do the CGI

Am I imagining things or this looks worse than Ten's
