This was awesome

This was awesome

>it's a scene for scene remake
>but with the impactful violence removed
what the fuck were they thinking

Agreed. I saw the scene where she blows the family away with the shotgun in some webm thread and i thought the movie looked cool. Holy shit, I didnt know about the torture bit

The skin thing was brutal

I love how the plot completely changes halfway through, when you think she's going to rehabilitate the girl for the rest of the movie.

Why did they remove her skin? Why that specifically instead of anything else they could have done? They just beat her up a lot, then suddenly take the skins? I don't get that.

Not really they don't even show anything

can i get a quick rundown

>they didn't even show anything
Did... Did you even watch the movie?

They show her face when they start removing the skin, then the aftermath. That scene could have been way more fucked than it was.

Sure, just stand outside in the middle of the street

It was pretty fucked up when they took out the blanket and revealed her being just a red blob of muscle

So what does she whisper at the end

>"kys roastie lmao how u get to be a granny without even having any kids fo witcha wrinkly ass pussy banana titty havin droopy the dog lookin bitch"

i feel enlightened

edgy kino

havent seen this movie in years but heres what I remember

>two girls in orphanage escape or something
>return to orphanage years later, one shoots current family living there with shotgun
>weird monster girl comes out of closet
>they investigate closet, forget what happens to first girl
>other girl gets captured and put in a cell
>beaten, starved for ages
>tortured
>skin flayed while shes alive while being kept on some medical shit to not die
>some cult shit makes her say the meaning of life to old lady who leads cult
>old lady dies of heart attack

wasn't really scary just disturbing

Could this man be more wrong?

So much of your synopsis is totally fucking incorrect. KYS.

just reread the wikipedia synopsis and I'm not that far off given I watched this once fucking 9 years ago and haven't looked it up since

eat shit

first girl escapes this place and then escapes an orphanage
monster girl was lucie's guilt and/or samantha
anna is still captured beaten and flayed alive
old lady trying to find meaning of life and shoots herself in the head instead of heart attack

fuck you

it was a ritual they followed, i guess skinning alive after torture would awaken them to enlightenment. i guess they figured out how to skin them and keep them alive for a long ass time. which might trigger the hallucination.

not to mention the movie was in fucking french and I was reading shitty stream subtitles

Well then why nail a metal mask on the other girl? Are they just trying out random things on these women?

i remember a heart attack too, weird. i don't remember which version i saw. but nothing was clear. either cult was bullshit and monster girl was a representative aspect of guilt.
or the cult was legit right and there was an answer and monster girl was a monster girl. idk i can't remember a lot either.

idk i'm not in the cult.

kek

>he's not in the cult

Did you watch the movie? They broke her spirit and then inflicted the most agonizing death on her they could come up with, all in accordance with their strange religious fixations.

I like this movie but what did she say yo the old woman? It can't have been "there is nothing after death", or she would have simply told the others and not killed herself.

That's what I assumed. That they were trying different methods of torture to get their results

Way to change your whole synopsis and then claim it was close. KEK.

K Y S

Yes I watched the movie, they just removed her skin, didn't even salt her or anything. I'm asking why they treated the other monster girl differently by nailing the mask onto her head.

I literally just saw the fucking movie you bozos she shoots herself with a gun.

maybe she killed herself to go to the afterlife, keeping the info to herself. or it was too sacred to let others know

>in accordance with their strange religious fixations.
How can people misinterpret shit this badly?

By watching the movie and listening to what the characters say? Holy shit you're dense if you didn't get this, it's not even surface level deep, it's literally and explicitly stated in the movie.

Watch it again then because you didn't understand a fucking thing.

>didn't even salt her or anything

Care to explain what I didn't understand? These are just things I pondered when I first saw it and this is the first time I've discussed the movie with anyone, I just wanted to hear thoughts. They could have given her a much more painful death than just removing her skin and letting her sit down on the floor.

But then she would just do it right away, instead she gathered all her co-conspirators together before doing it. Why? What message was she sending?

It was a cult of rich fuckers torturing orphans to gain existential, scientific knowledge of the afterlife. It literally had nothing to do with religion you stupid fucking retard.

They want to break people and then kill them in some horrific way, in order to indue "martyrdom" and learn more about the afterlife. Monster girl was a failure, she didn't "break" the right way, like the chink girl she just went crazy instead and was thus of no use. Why did they keep torturing her, despite this? Because in case you didn't notice, they are sick fuckers. Probably they kept her around for "practice" or soemsuch, or perhaps they hoped she would regain her sanity so they could murder her.

The afterlife has everything to do with religion you dumb idiot

They were a cult, a religious organization. They didn't want "scientific" knowledge, the knowledge they sought was explicitly occult. The way they framed it was entirely religious, right down to their use of the term "martyr" for their victims.

Well the skin removal itself is pretty fucked up but they just tortured her by having a large man come in every day and beat her up. I love the movie but that concept is weak.

The torture is separate from the martyrdom, they tortured her to break her spirit, then martyred her to gain insight into the afterlife. Removing her skin is just the method they chose, why, who knows, but it worked so it wasn't a bad choice by any means. The fact they tortured the girls differently shows they were trying various methods to get what they wanted, they didn't have a single method they used on everyone.

I pray you don't have children. And if you have children already, I hope they don't live to reproduce.

Because I understand an entry-level movie that you're too dense to fathom? Okay, dumb ass.

>would you suck a log from Andy Sixx's asshole?

Even wikipedia agrees with me.

>" Captured, Anna meets their leader, an elderly lady referred to as Mademoiselle. Mademoiselle explains that she belongs to a secret philosophical society seeking to discover the secrets of the afterlife through the creation of "martyrs". Their experiments inflict systematic acts of torture upon young women in the belief that their suffering will result in a transcendental insight into the world beyond this one."

What part of that makes you think you're right? Serious question, because that quote simply proves that I'M right.

...

disingenuous torture porn. should have been a forgettable short film ending when the first girl has her revenge

I will chock up your responses to ignorance. You have no clue about ancient philosophy or metaphysics or transcendentalism. You are likely under 25 with no university education. Go to bed, kiddo.

You know what? You're right user, I'm sorry.

Hahah holy shit, so your answer is literally HURR I ARE TEH SMART? You pitiful sack of failure, go prove yourself an idiot somewhere else.

Same retarded faggot

Then it would've been a lame revenge movie with no context. Wow, why don't you direct movies yet?

>ywn be a qt girl who befriends and protects a psychologically disturbed qt girl

Anyone saying this movie had anything to do with religion is super fucktarded.

Uh, did you SEE the movie? I for one am glad I'm not the main character.

Well, yeah, but before that part

>HURR all the symbolism and obvious religious imagery and the explicit religious references of the characters are irrelevant for I, Captain Autism, have determined that this movie is 100% scientific with zero (0) religious content!

>spoiler
That answer would´ve been as good a reason as any to commit suicide.

But I agree with him.

Sure, but right then, not several days later after she had convened a meeting of the cult. What could she possibly have learned that would lead her to do it the way she did?

>Little girl escapes from a place where she was being beaten and tortured
>Skip ahead to that same girl, now an adult
>She tracks down the people who may or may not have been torturing her, now a seemingly respectable family
>She shoots them all one by one
>She's constantly been attacked by a scary ghost chick, which may or may not be a hallucination, and believes that it will go away when she kills the family
>When she realizes it doesn't work, she cuts her own throat and dies
>Her friend, who showed up at some point during this, finds a secret torture chamber below the house
>She finds the family's current victim there, a girl who has been so badly savaged that she barely looks human
>She tries to clean the girl up, but the girl panics, and tries to run away
>Just as the tortured girl runs out the front door, she is shot and killed by operatives from the cult who has been performing these torturous activities
>The cult has been abducting and torturing young girls, because the belief is that if they experience enough suffering, they will have visions of the afterlife
>The girl is captured, and brought down to the torture chamber
>The next 10-20 minutes or so is just a montage of her being beaten and tortured over an undisclosed period of time
>When she is sufficiently broken, the cultists skin her alive
>The leader of the cult shows up, and the skinned girl whispers into her ear what she sees in the great beyond right before she dies
>The cult has a large gathering, where the cult leader is set to reveal to them what she has learned
>Before she can reveal what she has learned however, she locks herself away, pulls out a pistol, and shoots herself

You agree with your own post? Wow that's amazing!

t. Brainlet breakdown. You're completely leaving out the detrimental religious aspects and implication of the cult.

Need to be 18

The ending is bullshit. What could have caused that woman to kill herself? When you think about it logically it makes no sense. It was clearly just a way to wrap up the plot with a shock ending.

What are you saying

?

I know you really want samefagging to be going on, but you have simply been BTFO.

This movie has fuckall to do with religion. Sorry, knob-boi

Because you say so? Okay retard, I'll ignore all the incredibly obvious and overt religious themes in this movie because some random fucktard on the internet says so, you can be sure I'm sincere and not just mocking you for being a retarded self-important dickless retard who can't even understand an incredibly obvious and straightforward movie, oh no siree, I'd never do that.

“kysfamalamsenpai”

Need that with their skin flayed

Repeating yourself is a sound argument. Sorry, but you are just wrong. This movie is not religious. It is the farthest thing from it.

christfag spotted

It was indeed.

This is one of the few film which I truly loved but have no desire to watch again anytime soon.

It's really fuckin' good but it's so brutal. And it's not even the gore, I can't put my finger on what about it gets underneath my skin.

She spoke God's tongue and passed millenia of hidden knowledge to her mind, which was simply too much to bear.

See, I just made that up and it completely validates her actions, it's not that hard.

Whereas simply stating something as a fact is a GREAT way to persuade someone that you're not just a blowhard retard autist who thinks his dimwitted anti-theist opinions about a movie he totally failed to understand are canon. You've sure shown me up, dumb-dumb!

>HURR noticing obvious and intentional religious themes in a movie means you're a christfag!

Retard spotted.

>See, I just made that up
Which proves the movie is complete and utter crap.

>and it completely validates her actions

Except it doesn't you fucktarded ape, because she doesn't just kill herself or go crazy, she convenes a gathering of her followers and only THEN does she kill herself.

How about she's a huge cunt and teases everyone with the reveal they have been waiting their entire lives and then kills herself burying the secret out of pettiness?
Seriously, it's an extremely open ending so there's billions of possible outcomes. The fact you yourself didn't though of a single possibility just shows how much of a fucking idiot you are.

stop watching sick shit like this and watch real kino

Haha oh wow, filtered.

And nothing of value was lost.

it was pretty edgy but had some legitimately creepy moments. Also stuck with me for a day or two after watching it, which they say is what good horror should do. Hard to watch some of the more brutal scenes, even knowing they're actors and it's just a movie.

It's one of the rare disturbing and good movies ( and I don't get disturbed easily ). Also, as someone mentioned the direction twist was unsuspected yet it worked.
