This was quite good, why did it flop?
This was quite good, why did it flop?
no one was wearing a cape
It didn't flop, it grossed $370 million vs a $170 mil budget, it was a modest success, considering the obscure title, source material and difficult-to-market premise. Did well enough to get a sequel.
I don't remember it being advertised much, I hadn't heard about it until I saw it at the shops one day.
>that cut to credits
No advertising and a name that couldn't be more generic if it tried.
>that smile
IIIIIIIIIII NEED TO KNOW NOW
KNOW NOW
CAN YOU LOVE ME AGAIN
>it didn't earn billions like my marvel capeshit so it was a flop!
they are planning a sequel.
This
global. only 100 in the US.
it flopped
Let me guess... Repetitive?
People really hyped this up but when I got around to seeing it I was really underwhelmed. I don't know if the action choreography was just bad or what but the action scenes felt like a mediocre video game cutscene more than anything. I liked the story and characters alright but they were just alright.
I didn't even know it flopped. what the fuck is wrong with audiences?
This was the the only Tom Cruise movie I've ever really enjoyed
too deep for you?
this
you should see minority report and the last samurai.
and if you did and you think tey are shit you can suck my dick.
Everyone just expected it to be a bellow average movie, when in fact it was an above average movie.
*suffocates you
I never understood how no one knew who he was. He was the main recruiter on all the talk shows and commercials. But no one recognized him? the fuck
Wait. It's getting a sequel?
agreed on minority report, haven't seen the last samurai. I'll also mention collateral, a few good men, vanilla sky and eyes wide shut.
Based Doug Liman making more Kinos
Because they changed the name like nine times
Why would bunch of common soldiers know some marketing guy from america?
doug liam keeps talking about it in interviews but I doubt it'll actually happen. he's busy doing different stuff with his buddy TC anyway like that upcoming moon heist flick.
Is the manga good?
no
“We have an amazing story! It’s incredible! Way better than the first film, and I obviously loved the first film. It will be called Live Die Repeat and Repeat. Tom [Cruise] is excited about it, and Emily Blunt is excited about it. The big question is just when we’ll do it. But it’s not an if, it’s a when.”
>one ticket for Live Die Repeat and Repeat please
And the light novel?
Companies look at global profit
All light novels are trash. Unless you read YA books in which case it's par for the course.
pam halpert the fantasy
pfft no they dont
Fell for the D-Day meme and went head to head against one of the most beloved YA romance novels in recent time.
i'm not weeb enough to read LNs
Collateral is fucking awesome and Vanilla Sky is pretty good...once it gets past the quasi-RomCom parts.
WE MADE IT YEAH WE MADE IT
Odd. Collateral is the only one of his movies I DONT like
d-did anyone else want to lick the sweat off her body or was it just me?

how many have you seen? like, three? he has a whole bunch of duds.
And the manga actually had a kickass name, but they had to go call it something else.
>haven't seen the last samurai
TLS its manlykino,go and watch it.
i really like those designs
And I'm planning to fuck your mom.
It’s one of the few times a movie has pulled it off well.

legend
Lions for lambs
Those i havent seen. Even Knight and Day was great
OH yea and i havent seen the 2nd Jack Reacher
Like what? Everything but Cocktail is good. Where are the duds
Height Transformers fatigue. Same goes for Pacific Rim.
Neither film flopped though.
how about Mummy? i really liked it a lot
It isn't as good as the first.
According to Sup Forums, with 170 million budget they must have spent 250 million on marketing and need AT LEAST 700 million to break even.
Because it was actually bad?
>quite good
>>blunt is a terrible actress and hasn't been in any good movies
>>cheesy storyline and ending, like it was made for kids
>>source material was even more adolescent
>>literally the only people that enjoyed it were teenagers and reddit
i wonder why it flopped
Or the fact that they barely get any of the overseas ticket sales so it's retarded to count all of it
usually it's between 25% to 40%
domestic is around 35% - 50% (remember recent SW TLJ scandal with insane 65%)
most accurate average is 30% ww, 45% dom.
gap isnt as big as you think
international take is now very important, it's not like in 90s
half of his 80s and 90s movies are boring. have you seen the firm? it's like torture.
found the 12 yr old
can't wait for the prequel tetralogy tho
This isn't the 80s and 90s anymore. Global profit matters just as much if not more than Domestic. Gotta get those China bucks yo.
No rape scene.
>sweaty
>messy hair
>open-toe socks!
hhhhnnnngg
