The black and white scene at the end made me laugh out loud.
>black and white scene at the end
I don't remember this. Was it after the credits or something?
Haven't seen, tempted to watch it tonight but I'm worried it'll just be 2 hours expecting me to cum buckets at the supastar cast.
Think he means the killer reveal.
Serviceable.
Nothing more, nothing less. Perfectly average detective shit.
>no little austically trimmed moustache
Looks gay.
Pic related was the only good adaptation, before the format change in 2002, it then got revamped. One of the faggots responsible for that was also was partly responsible for the remake of The Prisoner, says everything.
Enjoy the comfy intro:

Daisy is perfect the way she is thank you
It felt like a decent story hidden in the agatha christie detective format. It just isn't satisfying to see how perfectly such a large group can magically hide their distress from killing a guy. Also it was bizzare to think that this case was the first time the egg guy have seen the gray in the world. Also the way they presented stuff, shoehorning the whole baby shenanigans in the middle of the movie while showing barely anything of that I felt more empathy for depp's character who from what was shown to us was just an average guy with the lots of scenes.than for the whole family. I mean I understand that depp was in the wrong but i was mostly told it instead of showed so I didn't feel it.
They really took the pussy route with Dafoe's character. Should have stuck with the racist professor thing. Also, the whole everyone is the killer thing was an awful ending.
Mate you do realise it's based off an Agatha Christie book right? They followed the characters from that.
I was watching it with Mom but half way through I got diarrhoea and spent the rest of the film posting on Sup Forums. It was good the first half though.
There was a pandering interracial relationship in the book?
Was the ending the same?
I had to google it. Apparently the ending was the same. I had never head the story. I stand corrected on that point, but the ending was bad regardless.
>ywn live in that era
I didn't see this one, but I saw the David Suchet adaptation. The point of the ending is that the killers were an ersatz jury, which is why there are twelve of them. This is also why it's more ambiguous for Poirot, who previously only went after people who killed for selfish reasons.
I was disgusted when I saw the black guy desu, I knew straight away what was going to happen between him and Daisy's character. How can they keep getting away with it?
>Star Wars
>now this
Is Daisy Ridley the designated actress to get blacked? I guess it makes sense with her being the "new face" of Star Wars (((they)))would want to push racemixing with ber extra hard.
I read the book and watched the 1974 film, they were both great.
I'm waiting to watch the new one until I can pirate it because I hate Johnny Depp and I hate that they blacked one of the characters to pander to the SJW crowd.
He's not black in the book? And Depp's part was relatively small anyway, you only see him in the beginning.
>I hate Johnny Depp
I'm not a huge fan of him either, but he was by far not the weakest part of the movie. I thought he was perfectly fine in the role.
nigger on the orient express
...
>orient express
isn't that a bit racist?
I hadn't read the book, But yeah the whole race thing was a little annoying and seemed maybe hamfisted. Was it that way in the book or was it pandering? If the source material is that way I guess it can be forgiven. Overall I really enjoyed the movie. The only other thing I felt could maybe have made it better is if Poirot actually turned them in, just sticking to his character. But I guess I can see why he didn't.
In the book he's a British Army colonel, and in the movie he's played by Sean fucking Connery.
Great visuals, some interesting shots such as the overhead when Poirot enters the cabin for the first time. Too much unnecessary action though, it was clear there was some studio meddling in this. Why the fuck did they have that guy kick the shit out of those people at the bar in the opening? Why did Poirot have to knock a guy out with his cane? Why was he chasing a fat guy down a flight of stairs? Why did the black guy have to shoot Poirot at the end if his intention was not to kill him but just to make it look like he was the culprit? Why not just miss him entirely?
Also, why have the scene of Defoe emphatically apologizing for pretending to be racist to stay in character? Even in a fucking movie set in the 1930s characters are apologizing for using racist language, how fucking pathetic can you get, Branagh?
>I solved the case before the genius detective
I mean, it was pretty obvious. Did he really think it was just a coincidence that everyone on a train in Europe had a connection to a girl who was murdered in America?
DUDE SAME. I laughed when they showed the murder. probably because it's like that scene in airplane where the passengers line up to slap the lady
>better is if Poirot actually turned them in
Completely agree with you. Regardless of their intention or cause they still totally murdered that guy, and deserved to face actual justice for it.
>missing the point this hard
Ummmmmm sorry sweetie but the movie had a bad rotten tomato score. Do you didn't enjoy it
It was a mediocre movie that wanted to be great. Obviously there was studio meddling with the script because of the stupid quirky scenes that completely break the tension of the scenes. Plus it never feels like the movie allows its scenes to breathe. Would have been an A+ if it was darker and done in a more noir style. instead it feels like a mix between a classic whodunit thriller and wes anderson, it just lacks tonal consistency.
>branagh blackwashed the character so that daisy can get BLACKED in the film
why are brits such cucks?
What was strange was the movie constantly apologizing or showing how being racist against blacks is bad, but the racism against the Hispanics was whatever and never apologized for.
What was the point?
I thought it was pretty good, but it has fuck-all replay value to me.
It's a conspiracy to trigger racist assholes, such as yourself. They get off making you cry over black men conquering white women.
The nigger was not good for this movie, be real please !
Poirot always gets the bad guy. So the fact he didn't turn them in in this story was a lesson in morality, that not everything is an absolute.
It was okay. Could have been better, but was entirely entertaining. Branagh rarely disappoints.
Never saw it but it honestly looked gay as fuck
Exactly. That's why it would have fit his character so well. But if at least they portray it as a hard decision for him.
It's certified kino
