I don't really feel guilty about liking "bad movies", I just feel sorry for the people who can't enjoy them. Have you seen Battleship? It's got a "disaster movie from a military POV" thing going for it, and most people would be embarrassed to admit they like it.
And they're very expensive movies to make, and generally not existing properties so they aren't safe bets for the studios.
