You really think a conservative character would change his mind about things that fast? I appreciate that the show actually acknowledged opposing views like Andy's but I find it hard to believe it would just end as hunky-dory as it did.
It's a kids cartoon. They have actual violent conflicts resolve their differences within an episode wrap up. Comparatively a guy willing to make a minor compromise to be around his family whom he missed dearly isn't that crazy.
Aiden Sanchez
*Uncle Carl
Cameron Evans
only thing worse than a strawman is a stupidly-easy convert. i turned that episode off as soon as he opened his mouth this show doesn't do a very good job of wrapping things up in one season though let alone one episode
Nicholas Hernandez
>WELL DONE STEVEN, I KNEW YOU WASN'T GAY
Aaron Garcia
He didn't necessarily change his political opinion on socialism or immigration, he's just not a "back in my day"baby boomer type anymore.
Jonathan Parker
He never changed his mind. Being conservative is also a disposition. He realized that he wanted to be part of Greg's family again.
Caleb Murphy
It's one of those compromises you have to make to keep the show going. You couldn't possible have a conservative character and make him interact with the cast in a mature matter and have keep his immoral viewpoints, conservatives aren't reasonable like that.
David Morris
If it was some random person, no, but the fact that his family was involved helped.
Kayden Brown
>immoral viewpoints
Oh boy, here we go.
Liam Evans
No, I don't think he changed. Like most people of that kind they will concede outwardly if they're in a disadvantageous position. Either not in power or simply out numbered. It will seem like they changed. But they're just biding their time until they get their chance to exert influence on the group and try to set things "right" again.
Zachary Bell
He didn't change his views though. I would think most conservatives arent completely intolerant to everything or even hate most progressive things. They just dont like that tradition is considered bad. Andy is a moderate conserative, he has traditional values but is willing to at least entertain new stuff.
Asher Martinez
>Gems move onto his property >wreck the place >owner returns one day and gets upset >Gems could not care less and would probably kill him if not for Steven >Andy's the one that needed to change
Henry Cruz
Nah, we're used to it! ;^P #MAGA #SWAG
Matthew Richardson
Because Andy is some skinhead racist, right?
There's a goddamn difference between alt-right wackos and the classical conservatives who have every right to be at least somewhat indignant considering how much the society they cherished has been wrecked.
Matthew Phillips
The fact that he didn't need to change, but was nice anyway shows his collected and selfless nature. This is what conservatism is about.
Tyler Hernandez
kek
Julian Murphy
It's not like he put on hot pants and starting marching in a pride parade OP
It's an uplifting ending where different characters acknowledge a shared desire to get along and share life together. That's it.
Elijah Phillips
I think it's important to define Change here, Andy had 2 major points from his appearance
1. Being angry at Greg for abandoning his family
2. Being mad that these freaky space hippies moved into his parents place
He got over Greg because by his own admission if he put up more of an effort he could have stayed in contact with his family.
He changed his mind on the gems because they at least seemed to be trying to get along with him with the party they threw even if they were ridiculously naive about it.
Neither of those seem like massive changes that would take a lot of time, The latter comes pretty naturally to most people who are watching someone at least try to make peace with them and the former was sped uo by the latter.
Adrian Walker
He just wants to get into lapiss unmarried cooter. So its understandable
Justin Smith
i've tried that. these people will not welcome you back into their fold unless you completely lie down and take every stupid thing they say. they'll categorically deny that they're doing it just to bug you, but they are, because it gives them the fun blushy feeling of sticking it to the man. they will never realize that THEY are the man, and will never respect you even a little. because that would mean that THEY would have to start thinking for themselves instead of doing as they're told by the group that promised to support and accept them in exchange
Juan Miller
Sounds like you are projecting experiences with your own family onto a fictional character.
Juan Nelson
I'm glad someone gets this the problem is "Tradition" isn't just one thing there's traditions from the 50s established and enforced by ironically socialist mccarthyists, and there's traditions from millennia ago, in the heyday of the religion our entire society is founded on. (a religion which was subsequently ruined by a horribly deviant group that became synonymous with said religion, and then yet another terrible sect specifically ruined this specific country by being the first non-pillaging colonists, but still)
Leo Gray
family? naw dude, my family loves me. i'm talking about social groups you attempt to replace your family with since you're never getting laid and internet friends is all you get.
Eli Russell
Depends
Xavier Reed
>its an episode about a hippy commune showing an old conservative he was wrong, as in absolutely wrong with no compromise whatsoever >these people think like this in the real world >look i was right, look what my fictional character says when i speak for him
Angel Barnes
then he changed his mind and flew as far as he could never to be seen again
Zachary Sanders
That's too bad if you're talking about your own family. All I mean is that this is the way conservatives tend to act. It's partially why you don't hear much conservative talk in society. They see us as evil, while we see them as misguided. Part of the reason right-wing ideas are on the rise is because a few conservatives decided to start being really loud all of a sudden. Andy here displays a normal interaction of a conservative with his family.
Jaxson Butler
>Steven's Dream
Ian Anderson
Rose Quartz have powers related to emotions, Steven manipulated his emotions to change his mind.
Navy is a ruby, too dumb to fall on the feelings
Joseph Ross
I thought we agreed to drop this show. SU is shit and we should hate on it.
Angel Brooks
They never really try to prove him wrong though. Like at first they're mad because some stranger tried to tell them to get off the place they were squatting, then they tried to make peace with him for Steven, then they thanked him for giving them a chance to get together and celebrate and then Andy just gave in because of his own family related issues. They didn't convert him, they just found common ground over familial feelings and he decided to let them be.
Cameron Edwards
"Family helps family find ancient artifacts in Korea."
Nolan King
fun fact i no longer speak to my socialist family, i have been yelled at one too many times >dad tells me my cousin is right because he took part in some protest and joined a militant group >my rich spolied cousing that traveled the world on mommys wallet and yells at her when she doesnt want to give him money to keep vacationing for a fourth month >he is 24
Brandon Wright
SU is our favourite cartoon and you need to fuck off, actually.
Julian Allen
oh yeah, i forgot that well i guess one last flight, maybe he wished they died there
Colton Cruz
You're either lying, being ironic, being paid or are just beyond pathetic.
The fanbase left half a season ago. SU is dead, bury it.
Mason Gomez
Except for Andy. Andy is the best and should have a spin-off.
Luis Baker
i would protest but then again i want to keep my job and i dont want people to harrass me and throw briks at my windows
Tyler Reyes
Eh, I think it still has an alright sound design and I've invested enough time in it that I want to see it through at this point, plus the protagonist is a lot more based than people on Sup Forums make him out to be.
Dylan Perez
Tone down the projection, I can see it from my yard.
Josiah Torres
Man you sound like you really wished that was true.
Good thing it's not.
Liam Harris
Obviously the situation would be different with a family, you fucking mong. Why bother commenting at all?
Henry Gray
>Good job user. $0.25 has been deposited to your bank account.
Where can I join this thing where I get paid for talking about cartoons I like?
Robert Martin
I mean you want to hear why I think the show is bad I can do that too lmao
Matthew Morgan
I thought this episode was good and aired during the right time.
And you can enjoy the company of people even if they share different views than yours.
It's not like they changed Andy's views on things, he was just really happy to be together with his family.
Julian Reed
Yes. That's what everyone is doing so you should be doing it to.
Jose Perry
...
Juan Diaz
Wish I knew. People keep talking about it but I never know where to join.
Andrew Williams
You do realize you're all the laughingstock of this board, right? You're all basically the New AT.
Colton Robinson
>and aired during the right time uh? cute steven by the way
Jeremiah Russell
this has to be bait
Cooper Williams
Have you seen the threads lately? Everyone hates you, the show is shit and the fanbase has turned against it. Face it, you're done, just like AT.
Lincoln Gutierrez
user, it's family. It's all he had. Would you risk that?
He wasn't all hunky-dory but willing for family
Charles Wood
Don't walk all over their liberal fantasy OP.
Austin Robinson
I think it's stretched on too long because the writers lack focus, the consistency of the character designs varies wildly between different storyboarders, they waste time focusing on background characters and trying to develop them without any obvious reasons as to why they're never brought into the main plot and steven only learns something from townie episodes like half the time. The gems themselves have gotten overcrowded to the point where none of them really get the focus they deserve as main characters instead they've just all become parodies of themselves on the other hand by comparison Steven himself has grown a lot over the show, probably the only reason to watch it to be honest. He's gone from a bumbling liability to a capable member of the team until finally he's the only one who seems to really grasp the main plot as well as the viewer does and you see some of the things he's had to do weigh on him and even doubt how healthy his relationship with the gems are. Is it a bad show? Yeah probably to be honest but after already watching a few seasons and how little time it takes to watch the bombs when they come out I don't see why I shouldn't see it through to the end.
Man you really don't like this show.
Ryder Fisher
>Everyone
Brayden Ramirez
Again, look anywhere. Sup Forums, dA, Tumblr, etc.
Dylan Perez
>expecting sugar to understand subtlety and passing a sally anne test. She's oblivious to the concept of "not being her". Let it go.

Blake Long
Except you're wrong. Funny
Jace Myers
Is she retarded/autistic?
Isaiah Clark
>Sup Forums Hates it >YouTube Shit on it on the comment section >Tumblr Turned against it
Checkmate.
Blake Evans
are the Crystal Gems!
Thomas Robinson
Jokes on you, I already did.
Gabriel Mitchell
So? Are we supposed to feel persecuted or something?
Robert Lee
>Is it a bad show? Yeah probably to be honest but after already watching a few seasons and how little time it takes to watch the bombs when they come out I don't see why I shouldn't see it through to the end. This is why I don't get about you SU fags; if the show is shit just drop it. You're not getting rewarded for your brand loyalty. You're just putting yourself in further disappointment.
Colton Bailey
umh... user are you ok?
Isaac Fisher
Most people just don't like non-plot episodes.
Landon Morgan
Sup Forums is not your hivemind
Daniel Barnes
>You do realize you're all the laughingstock of this board, right? This board is full of pussies, why should I care what they think?
Jeremiah Anderson
is there any reason to watch this?
Oliver Butler
it's good
Owen Bennett
for memes right?
Kayden Bennett
for real
Brody Cruz
I'm coolin' man just don't get how tumblr and people who comment on youtube apparently being some unified force of disapproval is supposed to make me feel bad for watching a show.
I like the music, the backgrounds, and the main character actually having an arc. Not every bit of media I consume has to be the best of it's kind.
I mean that scene was kind of funny.
Alexander Cox
I like it. The latest episodes haven't been stellar but there are still some pretty good ones.
Nicholas Carter
>an actual human being Are you the only non autistic person in this thread?
Juan Moore
for memes right?
Dominic Lopez
>implying it's a hivemind boards.Sup Forums.org/co/thread/91327035#bottom You just have shit taste.
Colton White
Man you're really desperate to validate your idea that Steven Universe stopped being popular.
Connor Harris
Racist Glenn Beck has a Mexican wife. Racists can have black friends, they just think their black friends are "one of the good ones."
The Crystal Gems are just "good ones"
Mason Smith
>he doesn't even know how to link properly Don't lie, when did you get here? You really need to lurk more.
Jaxson Gonzalez
>I mean that scene was kind of funny in a sad way >don't get how tumblr and people who comment on youtube apparently being some unified force of disapproval to me the steven bombs are proof enough thst the network gsve up on it, i mean its canceling shows left and right anyways
Carson Myers
this guy gets it, I love Sup Forums but you guys all really suck in your own special way.
Zachary Long
SU fags are a special cancer though.
Leo Rogers
>some people agree with me, and if you don't, well, then, I-I... I don't like your tastes! ;_; oh, okay
Carson Thomas
i think this is the reality of it for most people who aren't hanging around just to shitpost about it and fish for the last remaining (you)s that get scarcer and scarcer with every hate thread
even if people get bored enough of this slow period to drop the show for a while, they'll catch up at some point, likely when there's word of some hype thing like jasper coming back
Matthew Wilson
>being this triggered Say it with me: SU is shit. SU is garbage. SU is trash. Down with SU.
Jose Powell
Starting to think you might be autistic. And not like the cool kind of autistic where they're good at music or trains or something.
Jordan Perry
That thread tends to disagree. :^)
Colton Gray
cringe
Cooper Morales
Hey fuck off that's MY shitposter you're replying too I'm the only one who's allowed to give him (You)s
David Bell
I think it only really happened because Steven was family and he was super lonely. He still seems weirded out by the CGs and mad at Greg though.
Grayson Miller
...user.
Asher Allen
I mean CN has trashed plenty of good shows too, they put all their weight behind shit like Teen Titans Go and the new Powerpuff Girls so I dunno how their shitty taste is supposed to make me feel bad too.
Yeah you got me, just too convincing with that chant.
His whole thing was how mad he was at Greg for ditching the rest of the family and then realizes Greg has started a family of his own and has a kid that even after meeting him just once is willing to risk his life to make him feel welcome he decided to be the bigger man and not abandon family.
Henry Howard
Why do people still like this shit? There's a thread explaining what's wrong with it and people are hating it accordingly.
