In the hindsight, was he THAT bad?

In the hindsight, was he THAT bad?

The scene where he sacrifices himself to blow up up the mech is a top 10 scene in the series. Would be top 5 if he actually died. Aside from that though he never really did anything other than be hot and pout.

He wasnt bad enough

>literally making best girl gay

yes, he was THAT bad

Most people that hate him are Korrasami faggots

Prove me wrong

> top 10 scene in the series
Well, that's really not saying much

He was hated well before Korrasami even became a thing. I don't remember why, though.

He turned out to be the best of the main leads surprisingly.

No. People who hated him were Bolin and Korrsami fags.
He was 6/10. He got shat on unfairly.

>best girl gets 2nd best girl

I don't see the downside.

>2nd best girl
The only good thing about Asami is, she's such a bland blank state, you could project whatever onto her.

He was incredibly bland after the first season and was also painted as being in the right or being more adult about situations when he was in the wrong.

Korea was a terrible girlfriend.

She was needy and whiny.

He cucked his own little brother while in a relationship with another woman

Then he continued to shit on said brother throughout the series.

I hate that they gave him Mako's name.

Fuck off Bolinfag. You already have Opal/Trap/Traps sister/self inserting in porn.

There's no denying he fucked up but it was because he was an emotionally stunted teenager who developed a "protect what you have at all costs" mentality while growing up on the streets which resulted in him avoiding any sort of conflict that could result in him losing or hurting the people he cares about. Him choosing not to tell Asami about the kiss wasn't coming from anywhere malicious, it's because he did genuinely care about her and didn't want to hurt her. Then her dad turns out to be a terrorist and as Korra pointed, Asami was going to need Mako which just reinforced his decision to not tell her.

That said, it still didn't make the whole situation "okay" because Mako still hid something from Asami and she never got really good closure on that and people aren't going to react well to "this ship didn't work out because one of them just fell in love with someone else" as opposed to "this ship didn't work out because they had legitimate flaws that made them incompatible".

If Bryke had: a) given the viewers a good reason why Asami and Mako might not have lasted in the long run (besides Korra, like actually suggest they're not compatible), b) not done the whole Bolin thing because he was the more popular shipping choice for Korra, and c) done more with Asami instead of having her make a few passive-aggressive remarks, people probably wouldn't have hated Mako so much.

Its fine way above par for regular shows that any fo the networks air.

>Mako now has to see Korra and Asami constantly flirting with each other whenever he hangs out with them
>sometimes they'll just start randomly making out while he awkwardly goes silent waiting for them to finish
>after they're done they come up with an obvious bullshit excuse to go to the bathroom together
>it feels like torture as he waits for them to return
>soon they come back and both are red faced with small beads of sweat dripping down their toned bodies
>they then talk to him like nothing's happened and he stares back at them with soulless eyes and a broken smile

Not even Mako deserves this.

I still want a spinoff series where Mako has some serious mental issues after fully accepting he was going to die in the giant robit. Where he left the force to be a private investigator looking into super dark crimes.
He hates himself for being a hormonal tool and ruining the best relationships he's ever had, and believes he doesn't deserve to have anything like them again, and by subjecting himself to the darker shadows of the city and helping the people no one else wants to help, he's making up for his fuckups. And the rest of the gang keeps trying to get him to hang out with them, not realizing what he's been up to, and he keeps making excuses about working when he's really at home pounding shots after a really gruesome murder scene.

He was great. I never ever understood the hate for Mako. He wasn't playing the girls. He was indecisive and a mess, but he wasn't playing the girls.
The times he was busy thinking about Korra while Asami was there was when Korra was in legit danger, like being fucking kidnapped. I always felt Mako haters were sociopath shippers.

>tfw everything people hate from Mako actually came from the other characters and not him
>yet they hate Mako
THANKS ANITA

Not really, he was a pretty decent character in books 2, 3 and 4

The worst member of the krew by far was Asami. She was bland with no personality, no skills used in a good way, no memorable moments past book 1, no good fight scenes and no motives aside from wanting to fuck Mako and/or Korra

Asami should have stayed the villain, as she was originally envisioned.

Bolinfags pissed that he was hogging all the girls and incapable of making up his mind of who he wanted to fuck.

He committed the cardinal sin of being boring. Like really boring. Boring enough to turn two women gay.

That pic is kinda what I hated about the Korra series. It played like an RPG. There was nothing organic about them getting new bending techniques.

I'm pretty sure Mako had lightning in the first or second season.
He was working in a factory being a human battery with a bunch of other shmucks.

Season 1 - Yes, and that's what flavored everyone's opinion of him, he's really fucking bad in Book 1

Season 2 - They give him a cop badge and a motorcycle because, just like Bolin and Asami, they have absolutely no idea what to do with his character here. Not nearly as bad as S1 Mako but kind of directionless and random.

Season 3 - Actually pretty good, didn't do much but was okay. Actually a little humorous to see him acting awkwardly around Korra and Asami. Had a good fight with that armless waterbender.

Season 4 - Again, not at all bad. His interactions with Prince Wu and Lin were good. Decent self-sacrifice at the end (not that anybody cared)

So overall, probably not, but who would care enough to defend his character against the haters?

>Mako wandering into his shitty flat, bloody and beaten after running into the gang he was investigating
>stitching himself up in his bathtub between gulps of whiskey
>passing out when he's done
>Korra and Asami on a date pass by his place and notice his door open
>find blood all over the place, Korra does emergency waterbending healmode

>really bad
Season 1 wasnt. Lol. He was boring

This guy gets it

He was kinda annoying in S1, but then became the least annoying of the original group. He should've banged Lin.

Mako did nothing wrong.

But Asami was even more boring than Mako.
What's Korra to turn to next if both men AND women are too boring for her?

Animals

Korra was a bitch, as a girlfriend. Asami was a good girl friend.

General Iroh, cumdumster for republic city, Kuvira, Zaheer, Rava

>General Iroh
But he was the MOST boring

But he would know things that we'd want to know

Mako/Lin would've been true progressivness

I want old man Mako to be the next Avatar's firebending teacher.

Or her sister or both

>He should've banged Lin.
This was the only LoK ship I even remotely liked

> Mako/Lin

I remember liking this but I don't know why

Older lady/ Younger guy

By the end, him and Lin were some of the few tolerable characters left

Nah, but his M'Lil version is better.
