So, can we all please stop pretending that The Smurfs were ever good now?

So, can we all please stop pretending that The Smurfs were ever good now?

>only "muh art" critics opinions count

Nope

I'm not even sure who they were making this movie for

At least it's not a stupid "CGI mixed with reality" movie

Still better than the live action movies.

...Not much of a hurdle to jump over by any means. but it's something.

All I really want to know is if it was pushing a 'Girls rule, boys drool' storyline.

What were the main things they complained about the movie??
Looks at least okay from the trailers.

>"girl smurfs mean business"
Probably

According to RT (HA!):
> its story
> its animation

Please at least tell me that some of the girl Smurfs are fuckable.

It was never good. Neither was Alvin and the Chipmunks.

Yes, yes it is. The whole movie is slapping the male Smurfs and screaming "women exist and we do things better than you!"

I stopped caring about RT scores on animated movies a long time ago. I've heard that it's cute and simple like the Peanuts Movie, which I loved, so I'm sure I'll enjoy it.

>75 percent liked it

This should be the only thing you're looking at.

They did a behind the scenes thing with the VAs.

Demi Lovato was looking good.

>RT
I just can't take the site that gave Ghostbusters a 73% seriously. They could be completely right about this but in the back of my head I'll always be thinking of that.

Also Smurfs always sucked. This is as close as you'll ever get and you should stop asking.

have we really become like Sup Forums where they unironically follow the metascore to tell whether a game is good or bad??

I much more preffered how they looked in LA movies. They did a great job making them realistic.

I still want to see this moviem, as a smurf fan.

Kek, they asked for an fully animated one, and it still turned out shit
It's over...Sony pictures is finished.

>"Critics" 37%
>Audience 75%
gee, I wonder what's happening here

Jesus Christ Sony should really should just dwindle their business down to their gaming division, or do they still make electronics (TV's/music)??

Anyone wanna post BlueBuddies comics?

Huh. Too bad. Thought it would at least be more entertaining than those Neil Patrick Harris movies with the Smurf cameos.

The commercial with the smug Julia Roberts smurf drives me fucking crazy.

If it see that commercial one more fucking time.

>Sony pays critics to hate this
>Sony: "You see! This is why we need to make more live action/CGI hybrid movies!"

Please god no....

>Yes, yes it is. The whole movie is slapping the male Smurfs and screaming "women exist and we do things better than you!"
Okay Boco, this is the only time you get to be useful

Give me some examples, I wouldn't be surprised if Sony was still bitter about NuGhostbusters, screaming "M-MUH SOGGY KNEE"

>Plot revolves around a Smurf village that's the opposite of the established canon: Female only village

Well they aren't wrong when they say it was predictable or a lazy story idea.

Gee, I wonder?

The comics were pretty charming in that Franco-Belgian way

>The Smurfs (2011) - 22%
>The Smurfs 2 (2013) - 13%
Highly doubt it. It just depends how it does in the box office.

Omg, fuck the critics, they just don't get it. A cartoon accurate smurfette doesn't make sense in a live action film. That's why they needed to change it.

And making Papa Smurf kill was only to make his arc so he doesn't kill at the end when he doesn't brand gargamel. It's Marvel that is just giving money to the critics.

After watching that shit fest I can assure anyone that the critics got it dead fucking wrong with that one. The fucking orgy scene was some of the worst shit put to film ever.

I actually had to do a double check because I didn't even think the score on that was accurate. But holy shit did they get that wrong. Should have been in the 20s

classic Sup Forumsntrarians

it was teenage humor at best.

Kids?

so was Deadpool

Wait people actually expected this movie to be good?

Fucking this
I get so annoyed listening to people talk about that movie at work.
It had maybe 3 scenes that were funny. The rest was terrible.

I only hoped it would be better than the last 2.

It WAS good. Despite trying, we can't stay 5 forever, we grow up.

Not that user
But after reading the reviews this pretty much sounds like the gist of it

Actually a lot of these critics seem to complain that this movie isn't "feminist" enough

Also what really bad thing happens to smurfette in this movie? Now im curious

Wow, a big screen adaption of a beloved character is comparable to below-Family Guy tier humor by a kike jew and his mob of kikes. Really makes you think eh hypocritical cunts.

Honestly, I thought it was decent. Nothing spectacular, but certainly nowhere near the garbage that was the live-action movies.

>I much more preffered how they looked in LA movies. They did a great job making them realistic.

They were ugly as sin in those.

Well, that makes me feel a little better.

Are the new girls cute, at least?

Just one of the myriad of cheaply-made Hanna-Barbera cash-ins.
Never read the source material comics, though. They might be better.

The new movie is based more on the comics than the HB cartoon.

That said, the comics aren't some incredible masterpiece, either. It's average stuff, nothing more.

>Never read the source material comics
It has comics? I only remember the retro cartoon.

I unironically think that this was the best animated movie of 2016. Fight me, faggots.

It's to bad the movie is garbage. They really did a fantastic job on the visual aspect. Voices aside, it feels like the H-B cartoon, but with more vivid colors.....and in 3D (I'm saying this based solely on the production stills).

Which IMHO, is much better than the realistic attempt given to previous CGI Smurf movies.

No one is going to fight you, Seth.
I've told you to keep your weird homo wrestling fetish to yourself.

But then, they ruined it thinking they were improving it because "feminism is still good right guys?".

Almost LIKE if they did it on porpusse.

>an all female smurf village
>this could be a neat play on how the classic smurfs are all dudes and smurfette
>could even have a smurfo in the female village as a jab
but instead of a funny mirror we gotta have muh stronk women though right?

>kids movie based on an 80's franchise
>tiny creatures in a big colorful world with an ugly antagonist
>visuals are amazing
>story's not so great

Aww, and I really wanted to like Trolls.

how did possibly get the idea that the smurfs movies were well liked before?

I think he was talking about the original comics and cartoons, not just the movies.

>and you should stop asking.
No one asked for this.

>It isn't a mirror of the regular Smurf village
>no single male Smurf in the city of chicks to be the funny inverse of Smurfette in the regular Smurf village

What the fuck that was the only reason I was interested in seeing it.

>SO #UNWOKE THAT IT'S #WOKE AF

All this talk about smurfs makes me want to read the ship of fools again.
>tfw barely literate in french
