Can we talk about this movie without mentioning that meme?

Like, did he really kill all those people?

No and yes. Also check em

he killed these dubs

We don't know, because he doesn't know. That's what being a pyscho is.

Well Paul Allen was certainly alive and well but I still think Patrick had a body count.

Favorite scene is Patrick discussing business cards and the self-centered attitude and expressions he portrays with his facial features
>Eggshell.jpg

Yes, he 100% killed those people

Read the book faggot.

Paul Allen was a faggot.

Check this trips

it's shit and bret easton ellis is a numale faggot.
check these

To get these doubles :^)

the book and ultimately the movie are a parody on consumerism, wageslavery and the whole 1980s materialist phase in NYC

its not actually about a psycho killing people its about all of us. We are the psychos cause we participate.

>DURRR DUBS XDDD LE REPEATING DIDGETS

It's against the fucking rules.

> post number GETs ("dubs")

He killed them. It's just the vapidness of the 80s, in this movie, was all about turning a profit. Nope, no dead bodies here! Just buy the condo. Oh, Paul Allen? Yeah...i know him he's on vacation (but everyone forgets names in this movie). Lawyer laughing at a millionaire murdering? Haha! Nice prank! Murders are low class scum, not you Bateman!

So yes, he goes crazy but his actions are always covered up by others trying to turn a profit or forgetting due to being so self absorbed.

That's a fair point, but if I may retort, care to check these dubs?

>8787
Guess who's not dining at Dorcia tonight?

the madman

cute

Double dubs? Impressive.
But on a serious note, when Batman explains the Huwey Louis and the News (hopefully didn't botch their name) album in great detail and dances around it gives me a genuine sense of joy. Really liked the scene overall besides the murder part.

crazy man, crazy...

>we are the psychos because we participate
How fucking pretentious can you be?

...

>How fucking pretentious can you be?

hows it pretentious? you are literally participating by replying to my comment you tv & film watching entitled consumerist product using little piece of shit

Let's have an in depth discussion about these digits you bitch

What did he do to the whores with the coat hanger? Please, I really need to know.

>Can we talk about this movie without mentioning that meme?
You mean this meme?

Damn

yeah but what about these?

No he didn’t kill anybody. Defoe’s character was just a figment of his imagination, as were the secedes where he killed Allen and the hookers. Bateman’s lawyer proves this by saying he met Allen after the supposed date that Bateman killed him, and then we see Bateman’s secretary finding Bateman’s notebook which is filled with doodles depicting the death of the hooker. Just because he’s a psychopath doesn’t mean he kills people, there’s estimated to be 1 psychopath for every 1000 people in the world, so they don’t have to be murderers. But they probably do think about killing people and that’s exactly what Bateman did. He made the whole things up

You mean these dubs?

...

>having not read the bateman emails

Of course he did. Why would you think otherwise?

yeah but the fact that he "saw" Allen can easily be explained. Could have been someone else. They all look the same, wear the same clothes, say the same shit, have the same cards. Theres no difference. They were all psychopaths.

Chekkm

Hold on a sec. now that I think about it, he might actually have killed those people. We do see one of his colleagues calling him by the wrong name, and this would partially explain your theory that he got him confused with someone else. However, surely if Defoe’s inspector character was real then he would have got his name right.

I guess one could say that there is no right or wrong answer, and that it really just depends one how you wanted the story to go

What you retards don't understand is that Paul Allen isn't alive at the end. The lawyer mistakes whoever he met with as Paul Allen because all of those dudes are so indistinguishable from each other that he confused him with Paul. It really isn't a hard concept to understand

But what about the body in the apartment? Why wasn't it there?

cool but check out these babies

Christ almighty

Shit I forgot about that. If I say he was just hallucinating you could argue that he was hallucinating through the whole movie. You have checkmated me old chap

buce reddit spacing faggot

Probably not

I don't think so. I can't remember that well but I'm pretty sure he didn't.

First, let's see your card

The color is bone. And the lettering is something called Sillian Rail.

Watch the scene again closely and you can see various cuts and blood all over the girls. It's only visible for a split second because of how quickly they both leave, so it's easy to miss it. It's hard to tell exactly what he did to them or why the one hooker said she might need surgery, but it was obviously pretty fucked up.

I think the landlord just decided to sell the apartment after Paul had been missing for a while and was probably missing his payments on it. But then they come in and see all the horrors that happened in there and realize that if this shit gets out, the status of that apartment building is going to drop when there's headlines about the murders there. So they just cover it up and pretend like it never happened because they don't care that anyone died, they just want to keep their reputation in tact so they can sell the apartment to another rich yuppie.

Why are you taking the word of a man who in the very scene he claims Allen is still alive confuses Bateman for another person?

It's very cool, Bateman, But that's nothing.

Look at this

Not as impressive as my doubles user...

The realtor covered up Bateman's murders to keep the property value from dropping and is aware Bateman is the killer when they meet. Rewatch their confrontation with that in mind and you'll see what I mean based on their interaction.

Jesus. This is really super. How'd a nitwit like you get so tasteful?

This guy gets it!!

Read the fucking book. The scene where the cabbie robs Bateman gives it all away. He TOTALLY killed all those people!

The book is even more dubious about his killing though, like how every time he loudly admits to someone he isn't going to kill that he's a killer something convenient stops them from hearing it.

>let's recite the whole scene word for word
holy reddit

Check em

Here is MY question everyone. Ok so the realtor covering up the murder falls in line with the idea of consumerism and yuppie culture, as does the lawyer perhaps confusing Paul with someone else. Sure. But what the fuck, Bateman CHASES A GIRL DOWN THE HALL WITH A CHAINSAW and then fucks her up at the bottom of the stairs. That would CLEARLY be very hard to pull off/clean the body without being caught, no? To me, theres no way that murder happened. Absolutely no way.

Also, the lawyer was part of the cover-up. Rewatch the scene near the end where he talks to the lawyer, who gets impatient with Patrick's insistence that he killed Paul. Like Patrick is the only guy who isn't aware that there's a cover-up going on.

Very nice. But what about these?

The fact that Patrick killed all those people doesn't mean we're being shown what really happened; it's still all from Patrick's point of view, and he's still fucking crazy.

idiot. You answered your own question by acknowleding that its a stab at society and culture at large.

He ran around with a chainsaw and nobody cared about it. This is a common theme/trope in movies.

She was just some faceless cunt in a big city. Who cares about her death? Shit happens all the time.

He also hallucinated a police shootout. It's possible she actually got away, but nobody's going to believe a whore.

...

Pretty good too. Have some of mine as a token of my approval.

Maybe some of the murders were real but not others? I mean the street rampage seemed a bit over the top.

All of the muders were hallucinations except the street rampage, that was real.

You absolutely butchered Hughey Loois & the Knooze
