Each season used to have more episodes, and the arcs were much shorter and better paced. There were many more characters too.

He's not wrong, in season 1 the advice Jack gets from the Lazzor, the elder Woolie, at the end of episode 4 leads him to the shaman in episode 6.
The Scotsman stuff also goes without saying. Scotsman even references Jack tossing one of his clansmen in the second episode of Scotsman Saves Jack and Jack references "Jump Good" in the same contest.
Jack also recalls when Aku tried to trick him as Ikra when he reveals he's privy to his less convincing disguise as a hermit in Jack and the Swamp Monster.
The show is primarily episodic and has extremely loose continuity, but that doesn't mean it's not there.
