Wisdom these ancient books had

>Wisdom these ancient books had,
>But that library contained nothing that the girl Rey does not already posses

What did he mean by this?

GRRRL POWER

He meant that the books in the tree contained no info that'd be useful to Rey

>someone knows Plato really well
>let's burn all Plato books

This is how retarded TLJ is

so it's okay to burn them?
i mean, just don't fucking read them if they have no useful info FOR ONE PERSON btw

he meant that rey had literally stolen the books already
did you fucking mongoloids even watch the movie?

>Plato's books aren't even there
What a way to miss Yoda's point, user. Do watch the film before sniffing your own farts.

Of course not, they think watching horribly filmed webms out of context is the same as watching it.

"Burn all repositories of knowledge then kill your self lmao" -Yoda

>What did he mean by this?
He meant he didn't know that Rex was about to have an aneurysm and that all knowledge now is lost.

fuck all jedi, only rey matters now, she is the goddess

>Episode 9 Climax
>Rey is surrounded by Kylo Ren and his Knights
>”It’s over Rey, you can’t defeat us all!”
>”Get back! I have powers, Jedi Powers.”
>The Force spirits of Obi-Wan, Yoda, Luke, Leia, and Anakin all appear
>Massive CGI fight breaks out

You're the one that missed the point, kid.

...

The same thing he talked about in empire strikes back

That she stole the books without Luke knowing. She literally possessed the books.

This was the only quip in the film that worked because it was in Yoda's character.

It means more Mary sue shit

Perfect comment. Lol'd hard

Really? The books were stolen by Rey and were on the Falcon at the end.

>>”Get back! I have powers, Jedi Powers.”

Yoda is a nazi.

>actually watching movies.
ahahahah

you actually made me laugh out loud

It’s quite clearly an analogy for the corrupting influence an organised religion has on the spiritual origins of its belief. The books represent an attempt to quantify and codify the Force, something which has ultimately perverted it and corrupted it into the mess that resulted in the death of the Republic. By burning the books, the origin of this attempt at codification, the Force is set free to be channeled as the pure force of nature it is, not as a religious practice.

>haven’t even watched the movie

That was just some sticks. It was not the books.

Your Jedi mind tricks won't work on me.

That doesn't negate his statement dumbass

He means that stronk womenz don't need to learn anything, they don't need to study, they already posses all the knowledge by virtue of being stronk womenz.

about sums up Luke's arc

>implying books can be wise.

It means that somehow even the newest fucking disney star wars movie managed to be too deep for the same autists that spend their days talking about how BvS is a masterpiece

The movie unironically needs to be dumbed down to these retards, as if you could somehow make that scene even more obvious somehow. The entire movie spends a big chunk of Luke dealing with the entire problem that (a gigaton of fans included thought so) was born out of how obviously incompetent the jedi were by trying to follow the "jedi code". Luke himself namedrops sidious and the PT era jedi and Yoda later forces him to actually learn from his (and of others) mistakes instead of completely giving up. "Burning the books" (which didnt happen you fucking retarded webm watching poorfags) was symbolic

It's an representation of western civilization.

Explain

Not like anyone else would ever be interested in 10,000 years of history and teachings, right?

Why the fuck is everybody taking this scene out of context? Rei stole the books, you see them later on. Yoda was just fucking with Luke.

At least criticise the many other shit parts of the movie.

That’s exactly how I saw it too

In what movie are the Jews not trying to destroy religion.

I can't even. Wow.

I literally didn't even notice the books and it seems like a huge percentage of viewers didn't. All it takes is a CU shot of the bag of books or a shot of her putting the books in the bag to clarify it. 2 and a half hours with countless superfluous scenes and moments and they couldn't include a 3 second shot that would ensure it doesn't look like all the Jedi texts are senselessly destroyed.

Was it a bundle of sticks?

>the new SW is too dumb. "Just turn off your brain bro" tier flick
>wtf why didn't the movie show this more clearly. I'm so confused

You can't win against Sup Forums

Whichever way you cut it, burning books is terrible symbolism, especially for a kids movie.

>the entire problem that (a gigaton of fans included thought so) was born out of how obviously incompetent the jedi were by trying to follow the "jedi code".

>Help bring peace and prosperity to the galaxy for more than 10,000 years
>incompetent

Pick one

yes totally. from my point of view the jedi are evil.

it means she had already moved the books to the falcon

>durr le big on!111

how fucking stupid are you? every single instance of following the "jedi code" is shown as a retarded religion. this simply proves that anyone, ANYONE who is retarded enough to complain about what yoda "did" in TLJ is an actually retarded contrarian desperate to shit on the new films

Ok but why mislead Luke?

It's fucking film making 101. Show us. If a point that could so obviously be extremely contentious can be clarified and avoided by including a simple shot stick it in.
It would add a shitload more to the film than the whole casino planet sequence.

Nobody likes the prequels, George. They might as well be non-canon.

>every single instance of following the "jedi code" is shown as a retarded religion.

Give 3 examples. Also maje sure those examples offset maintaining peace throughout the galaxy for 10,000 years

western civilization, shaped by white men, is the phallic symbolism of the tree. Yoda is cultural marxism, who wants to transfer the power to strong womyn like Rey because womyn are born perfect and all knowing and male-dominated education only stiffles them and makes them subservient. By burning the accumulated knowledge of white civilization, maleness and the patriarchical system is destroyed

But the jedi books were not important, that was the whole point of the scene. As OP quoted, Yoda says they are books with wisdom but nothing you can't learn without them. It's about Luke and by that the entire jedi order letting go of the past and disbanding what's left of it.

lmao let's burn our books on quantum mechanics and gravity, it's not like we can not rediscover them

>they are books with wisdom but nothing you can't learn without them
Burn all text books. Fuck research, just listen to what people say or what you intrinsically know. Most people already know everything and people would never manipulate the teachings without a base text, right?

no you dumb nigger. Yoda said Rey had everything she needs, referring to the fact that she stole the books. at least watch the movie before you try to be a smartass, dumb brainlet.

>LOL THE BOOKS ARE THERE HE BURNT THEM
but they're not.

>Yoda conjuring up lighting that affects the temporal world
>Not seeing the futility/what is the point in all of this anyway

The only one retarded is you defending this crap

It means both. The burning of the last jedi temple still represents disbanding the old jedi order and religion.

Womyn dont need to read, they are already smart and wise

It means book burning is coming back into fashion.

>winning because male help
Yeah right...

dude she can just google it
if she need to know something

otherwise luke wouldn't have made his suicide run

>destroys ancient place/leftover documents important to future jedi just for fun

>Yoda said Rey had everything she needs

True she got a jew to do her taxes, a black men for fucking, a hispanic for cleaning and a asian for her nails

Bitch is set for life

t. cracker

You don't know how right you are.
Indo-European civilisation is built on tree worship, the Irminsul. The tree that holds the sky from falling onto the earth. Irminsul eventually became the gods, and eventually Jesus himself who also hangs on a sort of tree and contains within him gnosis.

Odin also hangs himself on the World Tree to enter the Underworld

What about after Rey dies? Then what?

Yes, and it seems in even earlier iterations there is little difference between Irminsul and Wotan. Whether Wotan sprung out from Irminsul or if it is a archaic name for Wotan is not known, but the two are closely related.

Theoretically she could die within days considering the situation. That would only leave Kylo to teach the way of the Jefi. Or at least his interpretation.

why does he look like an old sushi master?

>Future the female is
Woah...

She stole the books. You can see it in the end. Jesus Christ, you people are thick.

It's symbolism for mansplaining clearly.

If ghost Yoda can summon lightning, ghost Rey will probably become a Jedi Thor. Don't need no books for that.

This. So it makes sense for Yoda to burn them all... because Rey stole them.

this is some the name of the rose shit

Has anyone got a shot of the moment the books are revealed to be in Rey's possession? I missed it.

I wished after the next movie, Disney would just call it done with the original George Lucas timeline. It's always been by far the most boring point in time in the entire SW universe. A movie trilogy set in the old republic without any connection to all of these garbage characters would be so much more interesting.

WOMEN ARE SMART. GET OVER IT

Go watch it again at your local cinema complex :^)

Separate in universe movies would be way better. If they did it right, it could be become its own genre.

The movie was garbage regardless. I'm not paying to watch Star Wars again so long as Disney own it.

Wouldn't it have made more sense if they explicitly stipulated that the Jedi should start over?

What everyone's missing here is how wildly out of character this moment was.
Yoda, who was the Grand Master of the Order, who trained Jedi for 800 years, suddenly decided the whole thing was wrong and he should destroy it? Yoda, who along with Obi-Wan, risked their lives to keep Luke and Leia secret and separate to destroy the Sith, is perfectly fine with there being ONE person in the galaxy that can actually represent the Light Side of the Force, and she's barely a trained Jedi? Yoda went out of his way to keep Leia hidden as a last resort, should Luke fail to defeat Vader, but he was cool with destroying the new Jedi Temple and basically tells Luke to kill himself?
It makes no sense.

Yoda is trolling Luke because he knows Rey stole the books. Trolling Luke is what the character started with in the first place.

None of the OT characters act like they've been established to and the nu characters, aside from Kylo (who also acts with conflicting motivations), are all boring. The whole thing seems like it was written by a committee that never saw a Star Wars film.

He was trolling Luke purely as a test. He doesn't act like that ever again.

>HURR DURR ITS OUT OF CHARACTER

First of all, it isn't. Secondly, why the fuck do you want characters to be static cardboard cutouts like Superman? Thirdly, the books weren't actually burned.

You're an idiot. Kill yourself.

As much as this movie sucked Yoda was being a cheeky little shit because he knew that Rey had already stolen the books, thus had everything she needed. He burned the tree to fuck with Luke.

It's like the one sorta clever thing in the entire fucking movie.

>Luke: those books were the ancient Jedi text!
>Yoda: Hmmmm, should've belonged in a museum then, young Skywalker?
>cut to (red) ghost Hitler in the background, perusing a smoldering tome, then throwing it on the pyre with the rest

Do people seriously think that Yoda had no idea Rey had the books and actually meant to burn them?

why woud anybody stole the books, when yodu said the knowledge is already in her?
like yod said burn the books, i always do when i finish one and it has no more use for me.

>lived for almost 1k years
>a Reich that'll last a millennia
Holy shit Yoda's Hitler.

Don't fuck with me ! I have the power of jedi and force on my side !

AAAAAAAAAAAAA
