Are you storytiming it then?
Nah. It's good, but there isn't that same sense of intrigue or suspense. Watchmen is a fully realized story, this is basically just "lets see Superman do some awesome Superman shit" the book.
It's better than a lot of things tbqh.
It's a great comic but people who keep going on and on about it are fucking annoying, especially people who don't get that it's not supposed to be the definitive Superman or representative of how he should be in the modern age, just a tribute to the Wiesinger-era.
List of things actually >= Watchmen?
I'll start: Lucifer
lol ok there bud.
I'll go for an even lower picking
What a clever response from the namefag
I was never a fan of superman till i read this.
It's interesting how writers are referencing All Star Superman now.
yeah easily
moore's constant pessimism gets kinda silly after awhile. they're super heroes dude being a realistic downer all the time gets old. All Star Supes has that classic feel good comic rush.
pax
holy shit when did we start getting all these namefagging faggots
Because most writers are hacks?
It's only mid-level Morrison.
Stupid superficial swill for lazy readers who need the comfort of contentless optimism that means nothing.
Morrison's Batman run was about a hundred times better, but unlike ASS it actually required thought on the part of the readers.
Al Star lives and dies by it's art,Frank Quitely is the reason to read it. And we almost didn't get him, in Supergods Morrison said that if he had gotten out of his Marvel work faster the original pitch was with Jim Lee
>I didn't get it: The post.
Your 555 is appropriate.
Moore's Supreme>All Star Superman
Prove me wrong
I like both.
Why must everything be a competition or trolling?
Just like how people got the wrong ideas out of Watchmen and DKR, All Star had a negative effect on Superman mythos. The vibrant siover age world Morrison created is often ignored.
yup
That's an opinion I disagree with, but I respect it. Both are excellent books.
Welcome to Sup Forums where if it isn't bait or involve fighting it can get the fuck out. This board is at it's best when all the story times for current books come out because it's people who just enjoy reading books discussing what they just read.
Yup. But not as good as Saga of The Swamp Thing(close though)
What the fuck are you talking about? Wednesday story times are full of baiting and trolling. Or threads with 50 replies, 25 of which are the storytime
Millar and a bunch of other writers understand Superman more than Morrison
see pic related
True, storytimes are the best threads.
Why can't we have writers like the British Invasion bros? In the 80s and 90s, people like Moore, Morrison, Milligan, Gaiman, Carey, Ennis, Delano were machines puttingvout interesting creative work one after the other, even when they put out a weaker work it was still damn good and DIFFERENT from the rest. Now we got mediocre hacks like Pak, Spencer, Waid, Tynion, Seeley, Tomasi, Bendis, Johns, Aaron, Humphries...
Absolutely not.
Waid is from the same era as the British lolvasion guys..
Oh, wait your're serious. Oh this is good.
A tough one, and a valid point. It ais an interesting comparison , with two men who think each other are ridiculous tackling the same subject matter. There is no comparison between artists though.
I want to start a discussion. Frankly I like this guy's Comparing it with Supreme better.
I love All Star Superman. Don't have much else to add to it aside from that.
But he's american and shit.
Sure but time wise shouldn't be lumped with those other Americans.
? I specifically mention "the british invasion" why are you bringing up this american shitter? And those other people started writing comics in the 80s or even 70s. Waid was an editor for a bit in the mid to late 80s and only started to write garbage in the 90s.
