They are right you know

They are right you know

but that's about it

What a load of bollocks. Rogue One sucks more than The Last Jedi.

>current year
>still liking star wars
don't forget to buy a lot of merch, goy

kys

I'm waiting for the superman Leia playset and the Luke titmilking playset. Seriously tho we need that tit sloth merchandise.

Easy to say that without explaining why you thought it was good

>Rogue One
>regurgitate
Did these people watch the same movie? Rogue One takes us to a Tropical Island planet, a Sith Temple, a cyberpunk city holding two asteroids together, and Eadu, inside the lives of Imperial Officers. We get the U-Wing (which is reminiscent of the rebel fleet matching the aesthetic while also being new), a Emperial tank, Tie Striker, Tie Reaper. The movie has old characters but does not rely on them introducing new characters including a member of the Order or the Whills. We see believable rebel guerilla tactics that actually makes them seem competent and capable of taking on the Empire. K2SO is also a great addition in the form of advanced Emperial droid. We also get several new class of Storm Tooper.

>TFA or TLJ being original
TFA was a copy paste of ANH and every planet visited was a rip off of those seen in the OT. Taking places dacades after the OT, it still relies on familiarity of X-Wings, Tie Fighters, Millenium Falcon, and invalidates the progress made in the OT to regurgitate the power dynamic of Empire vs Rebels in the OT. They even give us a bigger Death Star. All the old protagonists show up and the main antagonists are rip offs of Vader and Sheev. What's more, the movie invalidate the character progression of Luke and Han in a careless way dishonoring their legacy.

TLJ has a major battle which is essentially Hoth 2.0 but (actually there's red sand under the top coat of Hoth so it's OC-don't steal). They even bring in AT-ATs, AT-STs, and a bigger AT-AT is the only "new thing". Ripping off ESB, Rey is away from the rest of the group training under the last living exiled Jedi Master. Meanwhile her friends are all running away from the Empire..I mean First Order. Finn and the Asian chick go to Cloud City...I mean a Casino world and are betrayed by Lando... I mean Sicario. Still have yet to see any new starfighters. The Rebel...I mean Resistance and Empire...I mean First Order capital ships all look like OT ships

This was like a monkey paw wish. Yes I wanted more creative but I didn't want Luke suck sea sloth udders for green milk and all the other bullcrap. It's creative but it's bad.

What people really wanted was a continuation of the old Star Wars, with new stories where the old gang passed the torch to a younger one. This is just a half assed soft reboot that doesn't have a heart.

>filler and padding is now creative
WHAT A TIME TO BE ALIVE

(cont.)
Rey leaves to try to save Vader...I mean Kylo with whom she shares a force connection with. Vader...I mean Kylo ends up betraying Sidious...I mean Snoke and siding with Luke...I mean Rey.

>Twitter threads

t. brainlet wojak

people are not hating the last jedi because it tried something new.

we want new.

what we hate is the destruction of lore and previous characters.

why make Luke to be a child killer? Why kill him off on an island?

Why not continue the story with him coming back to make a new academy? Why destroy all the lagcy of epsiode 6.

what was the point of it all in the end?

>stormtroopers barely make an appearance
>one shitty space battle at the beginning
>no real lightsaber fight
>entire plot is based off running out of fuel
>prequel-tier casino shit
>fuck our mission cause muh tortured animals
>current year general with shit plan of "i was only pretending to be retarded"
>luke throws his father's lightsaber away and acts like a complete bitch
I'm glad we traded old star wars for this

It only took 2 years for the normies to come around to the fact that these new Star Wars are shit, but now that they have realised this fact they will hate it with a greater passion than they ever hated the prequel trilogy.

>I'll try strawmanning, that's a good trick

What could have been:

Republic reformed and the Empire restructured. Both exist, taking up different territory of the Galaxy under a fragile temporary truce but both fighting proxy wars to garner more systems to their side. Leia is a prominent high up official of the new Republic. Luke has rebuilt the New Jedi Order which is still quite a work in progress. Some of the issues it has includes acquiring old Jedi knowledge and techniques, building up the new Jedi base of operations, working the kinks out of developing his system of training an organization of Jedi and dealing with the new members' nonsense, and figuring out how the Jedi fit into the new Republic structure. The new Republic faces the issue of building up it's new military. It would feature many new craft and would have more funding than the Rebels did but it would still very much be a work in progress since the new Republic military evolved out of the improvised Rebel force versus the restructured Empire which already had the old Empire's military structure to base itself off of. Due to this, the Empire tends to have a technological advantage in proxy wars. Not nearly to the extent seen in the OT, but the new Republic is definitely interested in closing the technological gap as quickly as possible. The new Republic on the other hand has shifted power over to top military making it something of a military dictatorship. They could potentially have one of the military/governmental leaders be someone who was inspired by what Sidious accomplished and takes to Sidious' left over records learning about the ways of the Sith. To counter Luke's new Jedi order, he could institute a drive to establish a counter Sith order on the Empire side training select members of the military who show force sensitivity. Both the Jedi and Sith order would be slightly modified versions of the old Jedi and Sith orders.

I'm not really sure where Han would fit in in all this.

Actually I think the best place for Han would be on the frontlines of proxy wars. Helping smuggle arms and whatnot. His operation and resources would be on a much larger scale though and I'd imagine he would have updated the Millenium Falcon a bit since he's no longer scraping by.

TLJ was not creative, and was barely new.

Well, they are the SW audience. Eatshitters.

Why are these faggots so retarded? Just because it’s different doesn’t make it good, or do they also agree the prequels were amazing and brave? TFA was a dull rehash they set up potential for the following movie with Rey’s origins, Snoke’s origins, Knights of Ren, and most importantly Luke’s growth simcecwe last saw him. TLJ shits all over that potential and does not deliver on any of them, it retroactively makes TFA worse and makes the entire saga before it pointless.

The Last Jedi is worse than Attack of the Clones. If you wanted a fresh start you should never havs dragged the original cast back just to kill them and make their accomplishments null.

Nobody is complaining that The Last Jedi is new and creative.

They're complaining that it's derivative and lazy.

OwO what’s this

last 20 minutes of Rogue one is literally the best part of the whole franchise

I'll give this a shot.

1st film, opening scene. We see a rebel ship flying over camera. We pan down to a scared child's face. He's hiding in long grass. We see the Rebel ships are piloted by a particular ugly alien race. They are violently hunting down and killing humanoids. Some of them have Empire insignia or flags. The boy runs towards his village. He gets there to see the rebel aliens taking his mother and family out and executing them against a hut wall, and burning down the village. A young child is still alive. He runs to save them from the ruins, but is badly burned on his arm. We see him reaching, desperately, but rubble blocks his way. In his pain and anger we see him use the force unknowingly to move the rubble, but it is too late. He collapses and is grabbed up by Alien Rebels.

Meanwhile, over in the Republic, Luke is a Jedi Monk, training a young Princess (Han and Leia's kid). She is a good kid, but coddled by Han who doesn't want her to be cynical and mean like he was. Her mother and Luke worry she is too soft, to kind.

Her mother insists she go with her on a diplomatic mission to a planet that many others in the Repubic are complaining about. It is a giant slave colony, a super resource rich planet. Many ex Empire fighters and the like are there. They are overseen by the Alien Rebels from the opening scene. The Princess is shocked and disgusted by what she sees, but Leia tells her this is Real Politik, and she needs to toughen up and make hard choices.

Watching this procession is one slave in particular, a young man. His arm is horribly burned. He is the young boy from before. We follow him in his slave barracks. One of the rare objects mined on the planet is Kyber Krystals. He has fashioned a crude light saber out of scrap wood and metal. It works, but is a mess.

Anyway, he leads a particular brutal (but brilliant) slave uprising against the Rebel Aliens. They capture Leia and the Princess in the process.

Literal straw man argument

>if you don't TLJ but liked RO then all you like is references and stuff you already seen before
>TLJ allows the franchise to new again

I bet this fool praised TFA when it can out and TLJ is bad remake of ESB its not original at all

Not true in the slightest.
There was nothing in R1 that even comes close to the dumbfuckery that is Super Leia.

Luke and Han rush to save them. Luke uses force magic and sheeeeit to crush the uprising. As Leia and the Princess are going towards The Millenium Falcon to leave and see Han, we see Slave Boi getting put back in shackles. He is watching his uprising crumble, his people being killed/renslaved, and he throws a full Sperg Out tantrum. It's a force spaz out and it's so ridiculously strong that it crushes the Falcon with like a crushed up tin can, with Chewie and Han visible in the cockpit, right in front of Leia and the Princess.

Luke is dumbfounded. There is chaos. Ships are stolen and Slave Boi escapes.

End of Part 1 or whatever.

In Part 2 we would see Slave Boi scouring the galaxy to find nefarious new villains and rebuild the Empire with ex Empire generals and the like. At the end of Part 2, the Princess would have to use a Death Star like weapon to destroy a captured planet - it would be necessary to stop the halt of Nu Empire and the destruction of the Galaxy. Luke is on the planet and has to do the Force Ghost Psychic thing to tell her that she needs to do this horrible, horrible thing. Ya know - kill millions, save billions.

I don't know where Part 3 would go from there.

But you'd get to;

>Have a black guy
>Have a female lead
>Have Harrison Ford killed off in part 1

So Disney would have been happy.

Maybe it's because I went in expecting it to be dogshit, but I found the plot entirely being a ship slowly flying away from powerful star destroyers to be really entertaining and something new for Star Wars.

They're stuck, the chain of command has been redistributed, Finn has to sneak off to Space Vegas to find a codecracker, Poe stages a mutiny, Poe's mutiny gets over thrown, a better plan is hatchd by the codecracker sells them out, etc.

It's a very small plot with each character impacting the plot, of a giant cruiser slowly running out of fuel as it slowly flies away from bigger ships.

It's just intercut with Rey fucking around on Jedi Island to make it 3 hours long.

You also get to see a Star Destroyer taken out in a creative and visually stunning way that isn't retarded like the hammerhead cleaving in Rogue One.

All in all, I give the Last Jedi a 3 out of 5 stars. Best Star Wars in a long time.

>STOP DISLIKING MY MOVIEEEEE

>TLJ is bad remake of ESB its not original at all

It's literally nothing like ESB. In fact, it might be the polar opposite of ESB.

>Best Star Wars in a long time

It was every bit as good/bad as The Force Awakens and Rogue One, which both came out in the last two years.

Not him, but it's the same plot as ESB.

Our main heroes are all running away from the Empire (which makes no fucking sense in the context of The Force Awakanes) while Rey/Luke is off with Yoda/Luke getting trained up (kinda). They all meet back up at the end in a doomed situation, but manage to get away, broken and beaten to fight again.

i fucking hate that these fags are now using the same argument used to criticize TFA but then it was just neckbeard psychobabble. Now its totally respectable.

>NEW AND CREATIVE
doesn't mean it's good

>people who dislike TLJ only dislike it because it was too new and creative

maybe it was just bad? new or not.

First two acts are fairly similar. Third act was different. They flipped the set pieces around though
