You are a child and who believes in nothing. Fuck you.

What's your age? teens, twenties, thirties?

Do you just ignore all the bad elements?

You liked the Luke Skywalker breastfeeding scene?

You're part of the problem then

no fuck you.

So did Last Jedi just confirm that Rey is a literal Mary Sue?

>has ability to track things at warp speed
>can't detonate or control ships remotely

Good boy, let the critics think for you, Star Wars isnt bad at all

fuck you too my man

I also liked it, i agree some things were bad or unnecessary but on the whole it was a pretty good star wars movie, felt like a mix of ESB, Clone wars and ROTJ.
The way people are just religiously hating on it for a few details ("Chrome Dome", minor plot holes..) is just over the top.

I liked it too. It was funny and had that comfy guardians of the galaxy feel.

Most hate strive from the death of luke, which I didn't minded. I don't want old guys running the show. There's no novelty in that.

You must be 18 to post here

I liked it too, probably because I'm not a Star Wars fan so I didn't care about how they treated Luke's character

The wails of contempt from the neckbeard contingent amuse me to no end. They were obviously never going to like this movie. Do I even need to state the reasons why?

But I'll tell you guys what makes me happy. When the cynicism gets so thick you can cut it with a knife, when the pissbabies rage like they are, I'll think back to the midnight screening I attended last night.

A twentysomething single mother had brought her two children with her. They were both adorable PoC, black with a touch of Hispanic, and they were both in costume. The little boy was dressed as Finn and the little girl was dressed as Rey. They were so so so excited, so proud, and clearly overjoyed that they were seeing themselves reflected on that screen.

I sat near them during the screening, and their squeals of unbridled joy and excitement will drown out the angry mob of tiny-dicked white dudes. They are the future. They are next generation of Jedi, of Sith, of creators and innovators. And this is THEIR movie. No doubt about that.

Don't ever fucking forget that there's good in this universe, guys, no matter how toxic the atmosphere on here gets.

Of course you did, mouse shill.

> guardians of the galaxy feel
part of the problem

>Just pour the soy directly into my falcon chow mouse

This is what I want to know. Rey in TFA was the laziest "YAS QUEEN" writing I have seen in my entire life. Fuck Mary Sues.

I liked it too. But only when I don't really analyze it, and just go with it. It was fun after all, it just has too many holes and flaws.

...

the eternal contrarian strikes back

You're allowed to like things I don't like. What did you like about it?

They transfer that Mary Sue-ness to Kelly “pugface” Tran’s character Rose. Rey learns too quick but at least she’s training. Her arc with Kylo is fucking great.

They have dialed back on it slightly (she's still super powerful, but actually fails at a couple of things). They have kinda made kylo more her equal.

But u can jest tell she be all yasssss queeen in the next one.

That was beautiful. You are very right. The movie is great, i love how it challenges everything we knew, and it makes sense. The idea that "the force is not for the jedi" is just amazing. I loved the tribute they made to the classics by bringing a puppet Yoda.

She is even worse in TLJ.
>Trains with Luke for less than 24 hours before she leaves
>Turns out her parents were just literal nobodies and junkies
>There is no reason for her to be even stronger than a Skywalker, but that's what she is

But that was kino

fuck off back to /m/ where the rest of the manchildren are

>I liked it. Fuck you.

Pretty much this. At least 3/4 of the movie was either pointless, tonally inconsistent, offensively bad, or some combination of the 3. It was entertaining, and I liked that they actually tried something different, but it was not a good movie.

Luke’s character assassination was absolutely disgusting, and Rey still has no flaws.

this a new meme?

>There is no reason for her to be even stronger than a Skywalker, but that's what she is

The reason given is some yin/yang bullshit. She's as strong as Kylo because muh balance. God, why does nobody understand that balance = no dark side because it is unnatural? Did none of these cucks watch any of the OT or at least the PT?

I didn't like the forced MCU tier humor that broke the tension in dramatic scenes

why do shields only seem to work half the time?
in TFA the tie fighter escape takes shots from blasters and takes no damage
in TLJ the resistance manage to shoot down some tie fighters with blaster rifles on the battle of not hoth
and don't get me started about the dreadnought being destroyed by a single bomber

I thought Luke's send-off was kino.

>why does nobody understand that balance = no dark side because it is unnatural?
I remember the first time George said that in an interview. Everyone was pissed kept saying that George was ruining the lore of the movies because he didn't understand dualism and nuance in storytelling. Seriously, for years, I saw people completely disregard that notion of the force and argue stuff like "Anakin did balance the force: two jedi, two sith, that's balance." And the thing is, most people were fine accepting that because the movies themselves never explain what "balance" is, or how the dark side of the force actually relates to the light side.

Are people completely changing their minds now because they didn't like TLJ actually explaining balance in the force.

i mean i liked it too. but its clear that the flick has some flaws. both aren't mutually exclusive

I also liked it. It absolutely has some issues, but it isn't the trainwreck Sup Forums led me to believe it was.

Only qualms really:
Yoda looks jankey as fuck. Why is he apparently so difficult for him to get right, whenever they restart Star Wars?
Rose wasn't necessary as a character, and added nothing.

There is nothing I can type that can bring you any lower than you already have yourself.

Was okay, not great, but not bad.

>believes in nothing
Star Wars is never anything to believe in since the 80's shit eater.

>star wars
>plot

The reasons people like star wars are this
1. Lazer fucking swords
2. Space battles
3. Banging score
4. Aliens are weird and interesting

9999999. Plot and storyline.

I loved it. Rian remembers that star wars is for the youth, not disgruntled 30 year old star wars obsessed manlets. I appreciate that.

>A twentysomething single mother had brought her two children with her. They were both adorable PoC, black with a touch of Hispanic, and they were both in costume.
Based blackedposter

Valerian was better than this mess.

It was actually worse than capeshit

Yes, if anything shes even more of a Mary Sue
Its bullshit

This

This!
It actually felt Valerian at times, mixed with GOTG

Your hostility stems from the fact that deep down you know this is infantile trash and you're a soy guzzling brainlet for enjoying it.

I said this in a previous thread but I believe Luke's character arc and death scene would be great if you gave them to anyone but Luke.

Kill yourslf

Nah, fuck that.
Every star wars movie had progression, reason.
gave you a sense of satisfaction and direction.

This movie was shocking with its decision making, and anyone who says it was courageous with its risks are fucking wrong as well.

repetitive scenes of the space battle and running away from the empire.
Misuse of everything Luke should have been. Why was he super serious and torn and also light hearted and silly.
They made fans wait 30 years to see Jedi master luke do a minute long battle where he does a stupid dodge.
Why didnt they make him a more enlightened mind
why wasnt Rey trained at all? Why is she instnatly drawn to the Dark side. Cop out on why Kylo turned bad. Where the hell are the knights of Ren?
Why tease all of these potential turns and twists and do none of them?
Cop out on explaining Snoke. who the fuck is snoke and why would you put him over so hard and then kill him- all with out giving us any information on who he is?
Cop out on Rey's parents being nobodies. Why the hell wouldnt they make Rey a palpatine to create the theme to mirror Kylo's being born destined to be good but turning bad?
Useless side stories of the replacement woman general. Why didnt they let have General ackbar take leias place isntead of needlessly killing him off quickly. Finn was wasted with the whole asian girl missions, too much Leia.
Shocking waste of Luke's death, they should have had him killed, not pretend killed then goes out and dies on his own.
Why are there only 15 rebels left. Why would they end it with 1 enemy left, Kylo who is torn and not very strong.
Why not turn Poe to the darkside?

who wrote this?

>progression
>reason

All I see is bitching about direction the story is going. There is plenty of progression almost too much of it. I think it suffers from trying to do too much rather than 'doing pointless things'.

In what way was any of these scenes needed to advance the plot? every stupid scene from space carrie fisher to the snoke asspull assassination was utterly pointless and the movie carried on as if they never happened.

You cant be serious if you thought fucking milk-udders luke was doing too much.

Dude, they somehow did both.
Killed important characters yet Rey and Kylo are exactly the same as they were at the end of TFA

rey is still an untrained whatever
Kylo is still a confused whatever

Really really bad writing, shitty character development.

And why not make Luke a super enlightened Grey Jedi who is apathetic to human problems who realizes good brings up evil, etc.
that would have made a fuck ton more sense

I didn't like it. Fuck you too.

>only scenes needed to advance the plot should be in Star Wars

Podracing, space politic talking, walking around corridors talking, jar jar binks scenes, playing hologram chess etc etc,

it's the 2nd movie, of course nothing is going to be resolved, it's the movie done to kill off the old characters and any loose ends they might have so they have a blank slate in the final movie.

Plot aside, it has the best cinematography of any Star Wars movie by a WIDE margin and if you disagree with this you're just being dishonest.

>why wasn't luke exactly how i wanted him to be baaaaaaawww

Congrats you are precisely as dumb as the average user of rottentomatoes.

Are you kidding, too much was resolved but there was No character growth

think
whats left for episode 9?

Kylo alone and Rey.
either they'll fight, or they'll become lovers.

What the fuck are they going to do introduce a big new bad guy so Rey and Kylo can work together to beat him?

So. Fucking. Stupid.

Why do brainlets get so angry about space politics? Literally every fucking scene where they discuss about that shit has something to do with the plot and moves it forward.
Like, people bitch about TPM wasting time with political talking but the only scenes where they do that are about Padme asking for help with the Naboo situation and shitting on the Chancelor when he shows how uneffective the Republic Senate is.
It's not like they spent 15 minutes discussing taxes on mining colonies even though that has nothing to do with the plot.

>Rey and Kylo are exactly the same as they were at the end of TFA

It's weird how most of the people criticizing this movie feel the need to lie about it.

I mean, you're either lying or full on retarded.

Luke's scene was ok, I liked the Obi Wan sacrifice parallel and the cinematography was Excalibur tier.

The rest of the movie though... embarrassing.

It makes you really sad.

No dumb ass, I don't care how they make him as long as it makes minimal sense.

the super enlightened Jedi master who saw the good in Vader despite him killing everyone was going to kill Kylo in his sleep because he saw darkness despite Kylo never doing anything wrong?

And where the hell are the Knights of Ren?

this shit is so convoluted, unorganized and poorly planned.

>Character growth
They're all spending time trying not to get killed. The time period in the first and second films is so condensed. It's a matter of weeks at most as compared to the years that have passed between the original trilogy and prequels. I don't think it's fair to compare 'character development'.

How are they different?
How?

They've grown to understand each other a little and they both lost their masters.

What new position are they in?

>lmao lets go see star wars and see aliens stand around in rooms talking

It's almost as if Lucas forgot why the fuck people actually go to see a movie called STAR FUCKING WARS maybe to see some fucking Star Wars.

I don't understand why the first order wouldn't just jump some of their SD in front of the fleeing resistance fleet.

Why did Luke leave a map to find him.. If he didn't want anyone to find him.

Cloaking devices only work on sensors, why couldn't the first order see the rebel transports leaving the flagship.. look out the window.

Yes dude but the movie should have pushed the characters to new directions and new growth.

I don't know why you guys are making excuses for this Shit show.

I liked TFA, I truly did.
I don't ever bitch about movies, this one though is very different.

So it's really just brainlets that get anxious if they don't have some ships going PEW PEW every two minutes?

>the super enlightened Jedi master who saw the good in Vader

He's also the son of Vader and it's been well established that he has to fight back the darkness within himself. It's not contrived that he would have a moment of weakness(brought on by fear, Vader's biggest flaw) when he is confronted with the ultimate evil through the force. He never would've killed Kylo.

Also hi from the other thread.

You're a bad person, fuck you.

I like that it took a lot of risks.

I'm going to the cinema in two hours, what would be the best time to yell out some spoilers? I'm torn between the lobby (easier to avoid being detected) and the SW theme (i have to buy a ticket, but it willdefinitely condition some people to instantly get angry when they hear it again)

>What new position are they in?

Did you watch the movie? Be honest now.

Kylo is the supreme leader at the end of TLJ, having killed his master in order to overcome his own self imposed idea of "weakness". His fundamental character trait in TFA is wanting to be a successor to Vader, something he has completely shed by the end of TLJ. He went through plenty of development, it just wasn't the development you wanted.

>brainlets
Well if you're stupid enough to go see a movie about laser fucking swords and sky battles with space nazis. I think we can expect there to be more than a few explosions. Otherwise go write a political psychotriller. And don't even pretend a movie with jar jar binks in it will challenge you intellectually.

Lol no.
He was torn.
connected a little with rey.
he panicked and killed snoke.
Hes still torn.

that was his entire character arch

fuck you this movie was trash.

...

Is there anybody on this board that can unironically defend the Leia flying through space scene?
Honestly has to be the worst moment of any Star Wars movie, mindbogglingly dumb

Good Soyim.

I've not seen it yet, but it looks fucking retarded. It doesn't mean it is though. The force is in all things, yeah? It makes 100 times more sense for her to be able to use the force than Ray.

I've not seen the film, but the clip looks retarded out of context*

Ehhh, he did throw in Holdo, who was a dumb bitch that seemed like she was there to be relatable to the "I want to speak to your manager" soccer moms dragging their kids to the movies
And 100% of the Poe-Finn-Rose plot along with countles lives would've been saved if she fucking told Poe what she was doing instead of saying "lol go in a straight line until we die, don't talk back to me flyboy" and creating that entire conflict by being a terrible leader. That was unforgivably stupid. They got a random other code breaker who didn't even help them for a plan they didn't need to enact and made things worse by getting the transports blown up.

>Hes still torn.

Yeah he is, The fact that you think this somehow nullifies his character development exposes what an absolute brainlet you are

Maybe you'd prefer if it was like the prequels where characters explain exactly how they are feeling everyone 2 seconds just in case the audience suffers from autism. Would you prefer if Kylo said "wow thanks Rey I am a good guy now"? I mean he wouldn't be "torn" anymore so it would automatically be better right?

Kylo had an interesting arc in this movie, well above average for SW. Deal with it brainlet.

It's even more retarded in context

The lightspeed ram was just a really dumb scenario, half the quips missed, Kylo just got a bit retarded with his “kill the old” thing.
The praetorian guard was the coolest part of the movie

>Is there anybody on this board that can unironically defend the Leia flying through space scene?

No.

I actually liked TLJ and disagree with many of the criticisms flying around.

Space Leia is mindbogglingly retarded, there is no defending it. If people want to write off the whole movie based on that one scene alone then I won't argue with them.

How?
How is he fucking different then the ending of TFA besides having no master now?

Stronger? no
Smarter? no
confidence? no
deciding on light and dark side? no
Fell in love? maybe a little

I didn't mind the rey - kylo story line, I thought it was fine.
but neither of them grew.
Kylo is still a decently trained sith, Rey is still a powerful amateur going into episode 9.

>Wonder what happened to the Knights of Ren before I see this
>Google it
>10 Plot points The Last Jedi just blows off.
Did this film do fucking anything right?

we should get mark hammil's view on this movie.. oh wait i have it right here:

youtube.com/watch?v=8GO2-gL2xfs

It's weird because Luke mentions Kylo taking some students with him when he destroyed the temple.
I don't know where this is leading to.

They're the only villain they've got left, right?

my favorite porn star liked it, so i like it

I could be totally wrong about this, but I think the reason why people dislike this movie is that it comments on many societal motifs: ingrained tribalism, recreational outrage, failure, and expectations/name not meeting reality.

>Ingrained tribalism
Luke explains to Rey that there is a balance to everything, light and dark, death and rebirth - but also shows that things aren't as clear-cut as Light Vs Dark - with Kylo having mixed emotions about killing Leia and Luke having mixed emotions about killing Kylo in his sleep. It gets further explored by the Codebreaker showing that the elites are playing both sides for profit- and to be careful about the happy merchant.

>Recreational Outrage
Our society loves to shit on the other side, mostly because the Left vs Right paradigm here in American politics. People go on social media, specifically reddit and facebook, to virtue signal and shit on the President and stuff. Rose, while saving Finn's life, said the only way we beat is not attacking the ones we hate- but saving what we love or something along that line. I think that strikes at the core of many of these people- because they love ruining people's lives/talking shit on the internet for social approval (not Sup Forums because here it's expected)

All of you fucking autists miss the point. it's entertainment. no idea why people treat Star Wars like a fucking religion, that it never was. why are you upset? or maybe you're just sad contrarian faggots lighting your painful NEET existence with watching other fail?

I liked it. It wasn't great. It doesn't have to.

It only got enjoyable an hour into the film or so, the entire first half is Clone Wars level of dull, uninteresting fluff worsened by an uncharismatic romance story between Finn and the fat gook.
