I HOPE YOU GUYS KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING

I really hope you guys get it. All this hate is going to ensure that we never get another star wars that takes risks again. Disneys marketing team is going to look at youtube, reddit and that RT score and they're going to make sure that it doesn't happen again. We're going to be doomed to get repeats of TFA over and over and over again.

You all fucking suck. You cry for some change in the story and then you stir up a shit tornado when you finally get it. PLEBS

>All this hate is going to ensure that we never get another star wars
Sounds great.

As if I cared at this point. Star Wars is dead to me now.

I hope Disney burns and Johnson commits sudoku over it.

If that's how scripts are being written these days, it's no wonder that movies suck and there's no hope anyway.

>never get another star wars that takes risks

"Haha we made all the dinosaurs in Jurassic Park start to wear clothes and do danceoffs, it's risky, it's bold, that means it's good!"

"We relaunched Die Hard but this time he's a tranny! It's risky, so it's good!"

"We killed off major characters for no real reason. People love that in GOT so they must love it here. It's risky, so it's good!"

The sad truth is that they didn't take many risks in TLJ. They just made characters inconsistent with canon for no real reason and with no payoff either.

>WAHHHHHH MUH CHANGE #RESIST
Fuck off. change for change's sake isnt good. A GOOD change is what we wanted. Not a brown turd.

>Implying the quality of an okay movie has anything to do with the audience criticism.

There is nothing inherently wrong with change. The problem is that the things that were different weren't terribly interesting or good.

let me tell you something about starwar faggot.

>All this hate is going to ensure that we never get another star wars that takes risks again

Honestly up until this point I thought the worst thing they could do is exactly after seeing TFA-it's literally a shameless rehash of New Hope.

They have actually achieved prequels-level of bad without Lucas on board and the big mouse looking over their shoulder to make sure everything stays safe, this is insane.

Good I hope they burn this franchise into the ground. They already killed it so might as well mutilate the body and pump it for whatever is left. I stopped caring the second that fucking nog trooper said "droid please"

fpbp

Why would you think we were ever going to get a Star Wars that takes risks from Disney ever, full stop?

HERE ISH YOUR LIGHTSABAH!

How long until they announce that Rian Johnson's separate trilogy is cancelled or that he's fired and someone else is in charge? I can't imagine they keep him around after this backlash (which for the record I don't fully understand since I actually think the movie is good).

the PT were creative risks and y'all shat on it anyway

Like I care.

I'd be thankful if Disneys actually cancels the next one thanks to the massive backlash. They butchered this franchise for good with this movie.

>star wars that takes risks again
they literally copied 4 in 7

What risks? Name one. Just one.

They completely fucked up Luke's character.
They completely fucked up the way the Force works.
They completely fucked up every single space battle where they didn't hyperspeed ram enemies.
They even fucked up most of the stuff they introduced in the last movie.
Taking risks doesn't mean destroying everything and killing suspension of disbelief.

This movie didn't take any risks. Aside from ruining Luke, but that's not a risk, just stupid.
This is still a by the book cookie cutter film.

>All this hate is going to ensure that we never get another star wars that takes risks again.

Wait, did you think TFA or TLJ took risks? Because they're already focus tested garbage.

hey disney marketing if you're reading this I'm okay with creative risk just make sure its not retarded first

They seem to be killing off just about everyone in this damn franchise. By next film there will only be disneys oc left on a star wars backdrop.

...

What risks you retarded ape? Entire movie was shit from ESB and RotJ just in different order.

God willing

...

Rian Johnson did nothing wrong. Neither did JJ. This is all Kathleen Kennedy. I don't know how many times I need to say it before everyone realizes this. George Lucas was a fool to ever leave her in charge.

If only...

Are you implying that Disney somehow took a risk by making TLJ a mashup of ESB and RotJ?

Clever disneyshill

Take risks with new content, not established shit. Mark Hamill is basically playing a homeless, grumpy version of Mark Hamill, not Luke Skywalker.

Yep.

I forgot that ESB and RotJ were one entire low speed ticking clock chase sequence.

If anything this movie ripped off Speed and Ocean's 11

>another star wars that takes risks again

>TLJ
>Taking risks

fpbp. Let it just fucking die.

This.

Explain in detail what these risk are.

*Risk* seems to be the buzzword that commands you to swallow this bullshit we are feeding you.

the only risk taken in this movie is Luke risking tetanus fighting with a fucking rusty antenna

that btw he force pulled meanwhile he was forceblocked or some new dumb shit

movie gets sillier and sillier the more you think about it

>the PT were creative risks and y'all shat on it anyway
The real problem with the prequels is that George was the sole authorial voice, a lot of people say it was an ego thing, which I'm sure is true enough, but he also didn't want to work with the writers or directors guild, He (via Lucasfilm/ILM/Skywalker Sound) pretty much did the whole thing in house. 20th Century Fox was just the distributor. So he didn't want to play ball with the studio system, and so he got cut out of a lot of opportunities.
While plenty of directors and writers would have shit themselves at the opportunity, it would have also put them at odds with the studios and the guild.
I think that's part of the reason Lynch didn't direct Return of the Jedi.
Also the prequels, for all of the shortcomings, actually pushed a lot of film technology that's now so common place it's taken for granted. Unfortunately for posterity it suffers a little bit from the early adoption.
Phantom Menace was shot mostly on film. Lucas said in an interview that there were like 4 or 5 scenes in the movie he shot on digital, and he challenged people to find them. The idea being that digital was the future and he wanted to showcase that. I know at least one of those scenes is the night shot with Qui Gon outside Shmi's house. The blacks are all fucked.
Attack of the clones and Revenge were both filmed with digital cameras and I think that's why a lot of the green screen looks so flat and cartooney, despite the fact that a lot of those were miniatures that were just keyed onto the green screen set.
So Lucas is an asshole, sure, but I don't think he's evil. He also directed pic related, which is one of my favorite movies. I can watch that mother fucker over and over again.

>Risks
Is that what you call it? No, this is just shitty deconstruction done to the extreme
>Luke as a hero figure? Nah, he's a pathetic hermit
>Snoke is a big bad? Psyche! He actually dies like a bitch with no explanation

Sheev will always be the best.

I can't believe Serkis thought Snoke was more powerful than him.

If Hollywood really wanted to take risk they'd make new franchises instead of rebooting and remaking the same shit all over again.

Return of the Jedi should have been the last Star Wars movie and in my head canon it is.

Risk means there is a possibility of failure. So if they are taking risks they know there is a possibilty the movie is gonna suck...
Taking risks does not mean that what they are doing is good or should be accepted.

you guys have some unwarranted self importance going on and its pathetic lol

God fucking damnit Sup Forums

Who gives a shit if they take risks? I would've been happy if they just did a Shadows of the Empire movie frame for frame. Disney did this because they're SJWs who hate the franchise, just like every other converged organization on the planet.

>I really hope you guys get it. All this hate is going to ensure that we never get another star wars that takes risks again
does risks mean shit? yea i don't want anymore "risks"

>there is a timeline where Return of the Jedi was directed by david lynch and the human race achieves transcendence
>Lynch's cameo would be the imperial officer screaming INTENSIFY FORWARD FIRE POWER COOP!
this timeline fucking sucks

i didn't think he'd be the best star wars director either.

also fuck unions

If it was so risky, why was it full of quips and facetious humour? The films doesn't exist seperate from what is wrong with it, which is quips and the casino planet.

fpbp

Re-posting this (not samefagging). Except I'll ask for more than one, if 'long chase sequence' is being taken as a risk.

that was literally taken from the asteroid chase scene in ESB

...

It blatantly ripped off BSG, and original BSG blatantly stole from Star Wars. Pottery.

are we finally allowed to like it not that the normies hate it?

I know this is a troll but a lot of people actually think this way. Let me tell you something, you are not in a place that you think you are. We literally have a board here, one of only 30 or so, dedicated to Deviant hentai. That is hentai that is fucked up the point that regular hentai viewers do not want to see it in the catalog. You are whining like a little bitch about the opinion of people that can not reach ejaculation without the visual aid of femboys being gangbanged and bukaked by potbellied orc pigs. Senpai, just leave. You don't belong here.

Maybe they should have thought of that before they KILLED LUKE FUCKING SKYWALKER!

I was here in 1999 and I can confirm everyone liked TPM on release before plinkett made his videos

"You're wrong, your Highness. THE SLEEPER HAS AWOKEN."

there were no risks, they ended the movie where they began. Rey is powerful, Kylo loses, the resistance is gonna fight the bad guys who were already defeated

the only difference is rey and kylo flirted. Thats it. That's the only place the needle moved.

>takes risks

How? By mixing and matching plot and story elements from the OT? By reversing all the character development on the OT cast? By killing them, sidelining them, or just ignoring them? By ignoring their own continuity and canon, even that which they themselves introduced? They've already done all that.

The biggest risk they've taken is not focusing on the new characters and allowing the actors to breathe any life into them, and that's not really a risk as much as it is just Disney being Disney.

Dude, we didn't get new SW movies after RotS and we were all better for it.

Now that's irony.

This but unironically.

>If
Whats the joke? Wasnt funny

yours is a glib fascimile of mine

>implying I'm ever watching a disney "star wars" again
After watching TFA I knew the only hope would be the spinoffs, but after finding out every single one of them is just going to mooch off the OT and have zero original thoughts I knew that there's no hope for this franchise

who cares faggot, maybe don't fuck with Luke because muh white males

this movie is perfect because it's literally a big fuck you in JayJay's face, Ryan literally destroyed everything stupid JayJay did. He killed the shitty sheev 2.0, he killed the interacial bullshit by giving Finn a new love interest and reylo, he destroyed the stupid mystery plot surrounding rey by giving her shit parents and not some canonical character marry sue bullshit, literally broke Kylo's mask calling stupid, made it more clear who was the bad and good guy by decimating the ressitance, shit I don't know probably tons of other shit but that's just the few things at the top of my head.

Thank you Ryan.
