Bad acting
No character development
She's the best at everything just because, which makes things very boring

character depth of a saucer.

Faces no trials in getting her powers, just can do it because she's the bestest
Even just one fucking scene like the X-wing lift would've sufficed

it's not a fucking state secret

>i think rey is vulnerable
Doesn't matter what the slag thinks, Rey is given everything

The script never lets her fail, which undermines every other character and makes them less interesting. Not only is she boring but her presence makes it almost impossible to have any character who interacts with her be interesting either.

Because that's the audience she's supposed to reflect. They love that shit.

It's hard to have a well developed protagonist when you're juggling 4 of them.

She has literally no personality. Like, name one interesting or compelling character trait or personality aspect of hers that isn't just a reaction to a plot point. She's just a blank slate.

Hard to have well-developed protagonists, but not hard to have interesting or likable ones. That shit's older than Homer.

what has she done that she was good at? I can only think of climbing shit.

Literally a better Jedi than Luke and teaches her self just because WOMEN ARE STRONG TOO!

They're too afraid of challenging her character or having her character suffer adversity.

At least Anakin was a disturbed young man with oedipal issues. While the script and acting might not have been there, his characterization isn't unlike a Greek tragedy.

dd you miss the part where she beats the fuck out of kylo ren and luke fucking skywalker?

Kylo was a lot better than her when fighting Snoke's guards and Luke was cut off from the force.

Pic related is the superior female lead character in another action sci-fi film.
>gifted, but unsure of herself
>strong sense of justice and morality
>is able to join field work with real street Judge even though she failed preliminary test which is not glossed over in the story
>her lesser qualifications actually cause her mentor/superior to treat her even more harshly and he constantly reprimands her and is quite demanding
>despite taking shit from Dredd, she clearly looks up to the guy and treats him with proper respect
>makes many errors and gets called out on it by Dredd
>her personal values and sense of justice makes her a great foil to her mentor
>gets wounded, captured, beaten, etc. and has to use her own skills and intuition to escape
>by the end of the movie, she has transformed into a much more confident cop and has earned the respect of her mentor

she also rejects the bbc

Yeah, that wasn't in the cut I saw. In the one they're showing in theaters around here, Luke beats her and disarms her with a stick until she tantrum-pulls a lightsaber, and she never fights Kylo Ren.

>Lena will never bite your dick off

She literally was written with the personality of a focus-group designed piece of cardboard.

She on par or better than Kylo Ren despite him having years of training by Luke personally and later through the first order.

She also knows how to operate the Millenium Falcon perfectly even though she has never operated a ship of that caliber in her life time.

She's boring, doesn't even struggle really. Her biggest weakness is her parents selling her and she has to rely on Kylo Ben to bring that part of her character out and lay her bare before the audience.

That hairstyle does things to my dick

Why is she so qt

Because John Wagner is actually a talented writer, which anyone working on Nu-Wars never will be

Mary sues are bad.
No, this has nothing to do with feminism and le grrl power xDD or misogyny.
The male equivalent would be a gary stu.

Perfection is boring, a character with no flaws is boring.
When writing a story a character must have flaws, these flaws will give the character personality, these flaws will lead to mistakes, which will lead to tragedy, which will lead to character growth.
Characters in a story must have a goal, a reason for living, a morality, something to chase after.
Characters must have everything but then lose it all, they must have nothing but then gain it.

>The male equivalent would be a gary stu.

whoa really

when she pilots the Falcon in tFA they hit rocks and shit, almost crash. Chewbacca pilots it in tLJ.

Given the circumstances they were in, she flew that thing very well, especially for a first-timer.
And then there's the infamous 'bypass the compressor' line.

You're sexually attracted to xenomorphs

I will give you a real world example

trump: deeply flawed person, but human.

clinton: championed as the most qualified and perfect, a lizard lady

The people want humanity, they dont want someone who is some perfected elitist.

This glut of scifi and fantasy and super hero movies shelled out by disney has made it impossible for a movie thats about real people with real problems and imperfection to be made.

its all focus group identity politics garbage .

and nothing negative resulted from any of the things she hit
