>First Order fleet chasing Rebel fleet in normal space >Both traveling at max speed so Rebel fleet is out of range >Why doesn't the First Order fleet slightly change their direction? >Jump into Hyperspace >Put in the coordinates for where the Rebels actually are >Jump out of Hyperspace in that location >And blow them the fuck away?
The Rebels only had one Hyperspace jump left, the First Order had as many as they wanted. Unbelievably retarded
To add, while chasing the Rebels in normal space, we are told multiple times that the Rebel fleet is out of range from the First Order and yet we see laser fire hit the First Order shields. So the Ion cannons can't shoot that distance NOR the FUCKING TRACTOR BEAMS?
TLJ is a movie that makes less and less sense the more you think about it, and even less sense if you think about it within the context of the Star Wars universe.
Colton Diaz
> we are told multiple times that the Rebel fleet is out of range from the First Order and yet we see laser fire hit the First Order shields I'm gonna feel sick for defending TLJ, but to be fair, the exact quote is something like "too far for our cannons to be effective against their shields". So, the shot can reach the raddus, but won't penetrate its shields, which was actually shown a couple of times.
Liam Hall
OK now what about a First Order Hyperspace jump or tractor beams?
Carson Myers
maybe if the FO jumped away, the Resistance would jump really quickly and the FO wouldn't be able to track them because they were too far away
Luke Hernandez
If only the First Order had more than one ship
Connor Hughes
Tractor beam probably has a reach even shorter than the lazzors. Jumping to hyperspace would work, probably.
Christopher Sanders
And? Why not send 200 bombers? Why not jump 5 destroyers ahead of rebels?
Henry Carter
>no one has mentioned Nigger, it was mentioned literally THOUSANDS of times on Sup Forums alone this past few days.
Xavier Young
No Leia kamikazed First Order fleet.
Cooper Johnson
>Laser cannon shells degrading in space Even for star wars, which admittedly throws some physics out the window, this is retarded. How would the shells lose effectiveness over that distance? The only two possible explanations are that their velocity decreases or that the heat of the shell dissipates. But in empty space there are hardly any atoms to offer any friction or heat dissipation. So what the fuck is happening to those shells in between the resistance cruiser and snoke's ship that makes them suddenly so ineffective at a slightly long range? The death star could blow up planets with ease several planet distances away, you think they would have perfected this technology by now.
Josiah Garcia
>all rebel fighters destroyed >they order their own fighters to retreat because "they can't support them"
Literally what? What the fuck? What support? How?
Benjamin Fisher
>The Rebels only had one Hyperspace jump left, the First Order had as many as they wanted.
since when are hyperspace jumps limited in star wars like some kind of video game item
Kevin Reyes
I thought of that but didn't mention it because I figured someone would notice a flaw in my logic and blow me the fuck out. Like they're doing to you.
Jason Flores
I guess OP doesn't f5 the catalogue all day every day, what a loser
Chase Foster
Shit writing, that's how.
Caleb Jenkins
You're still a nigger OP.
Jackson Anderson
Since now because Rian is a retard.
John Sanchez
not OP
Jonathan Murphy
I enjoyed it more than most but IMO the biggest plothole is that if Luke hadn't showed up, then Rose saving Finn would have actually killed the entire resistance.
>Push Finn out of the way of destroying the battering ram laser >Laser destroys the door >Luke doesn't show up >Resistance ded
And since no one had literally any idea that Luke was going to Force project, Finn sacrificing himself was the only option
Grayson Watson
The Rebels were low on "fuel"
Aaron Cox
Yeah, those missiles launched by Kylo's squadron at the beginning really wrecked their shit. So why didn't they just use them again?
Jack Flores
No one's BMTFO. They all agree. Are you a fucking retard?
Xavier Mitchell
Yeah except that they sent out the distress signal and no one decided to come.
Meaning, that they were fucked anyways because the door would have been breached and they didn't get any reinforcements.
Bentley Kelly
I wouldn't call that a plot hole, that's just Rose being stupid in the name of love.
Side note, Rose's actress isn't the most attractive girl out there, but I thought she had pretty good acting. I see why they cast her.
Jayden Gonzalez
It's actually incredibly stupid.
They could've hyperspaced a little more closer and that whole plot goes to pieces.
Disney is fucking sick man, why are they doing this to us?
Aiden Clark
Why are you so mad, OP?
Aiden Foster
>its stated repeatedly that the rebels only have enough fuel for one hyperspace jump >the rebels use almost all their fuel by the end of the chase >they still have enough fuel for one hyperspace jump
William Myers
Why did the laser cannons fire with an arc in space?
Elijah Lee
>Supremacy I think the movie could really benefit from the following scene >Snoke is on the bridge of some cruiser looking through the window >he looks at enormous wharf and mostly completed ship of tremendous size getting finished by it >”Supreme Leader Snoke, sir, our engineers designed this ship for you. Its firepower can destroy a fleet within seconds and warp speed is~“ >”I want it to be white” >”I’m sorry, commander, do you want us to paint it~” >”White, Senior Engneer Cucks, I want my Supremacy to be white. It would develop Snoke’s character in a perfect way.
Blake Scott
This. Shit writing in almost every conceivable direction. Fuck this shitshow, fuck Disney, and fuck anyone who tries to defend it.
Noah Lopez
I....don't...know
Jason Bell
Hyperspace fuel is different from normal fuel you idiot.
Gavin Bennett
>The BIGGEST FLAW of TLJ
That's quite the statement. At this point there are so many I lost count
Liam Gomez
Hyperspace jumps in Star Wars require hyperwave lanes and beacons to help guide the jump. They aren't explicit in the movies but appear in some of the flight sim video games. Large ships need to reach one of these beacons to ensure that they can enter a clear hyperlane and they they won't be destroyed. Smaller vessels, like fighters, usually only need their nav computers or astromechs to calculate the jump due to the large margin for error, so they can usually jump without needing a beacon or lane (think how the Falcon was doing weird hyperspace travel in Ep7)
In Episode 8's setting, this particular area of space is a backwater and likely only has 1 or two hyperspace entrances nearby. Even if the FO wanted to send in more ships, they'd probably only come in at the established point, which was now far away from the action based on the pursuit. Smaller vessels with hyperdrives could come in close to the Resistance cruiser, but they'd be no match for the cruiser's shields.
Jose Nelson

Jordan Reyes
The Last Order's military is led by a cartoon villain who probably doesn't even know what a flank is.
I just want to know why Disney thought this was a good character
Zachary Rogers
Why did they do less damage over greater distance? Space is empty, nothing would slow them down.
Noah Lewis
They just wanted to give him a role because he was so good in Ex Machina. He's literally "generic imperial baddie from the OT".
Jace Cook
>Raddus
Great, now they’re stealing from Gundam.
Matthew Cook
All they had to do was warp one of the many star destroyers chasing them in front of their escape route and pincer them.
This is the LAST of the rebellion. If they sink these ships they win the war. Call in more ships if you have to do so. Or you know at least TRY to surround them with the ships that you have.
Dominic Rodriguez
Because they're not really lasers. They're bolts of plasma being held together inside a magnetic "pocket". The plasma loses energy over time (because glowing brightly does that) and the bolt eventually disintegrates.
Camden Miller
>Call in more ships if you have to do so. That's literally all the ships the First Order has. They're not as big as you think.
Kevin Smith
When you have massive objects in space that have gravitational fields, the massive object curves the spacetime around it, so that makes the shortest distance between two points a curve.

Some ideas of this series had potential if didn't decide to market it towards children/young adults..
It is a shame so many adults take the lore seriously though......
Nolan Murphy
Is that ever actually stated in any of the movies? Because if not it doesn't count.
Christian Bailey
Massive ships just can't warp in anywhere. They are so large and the calculations so complex to prevent them from hitting anything during hypertravel, that they can only move through designated hyper lanes. A backwater like the system in Ep8 might only have one hyperlane entrance
Carter Harris
The jump they made was an extremely short distance.
Grayson Cook
Raddus was the Mon Calamari admiral from the battle over Scarif.
Kevin Brown
bad troll
Xavier Cruz
The last time I saw that mistake was in Transformers (1986), an animated movie for kids. It’s fucking shameful that manchild Chinese cartoons I enjoy like Macross and Gundam can handle real space physics interwoven with sci-fi/magic bullshit physics so much better than a $250 million dollar film in a post-internet world where you can fact-check everything instantaneously.
Anthony Clark
>massive fleet pursuing one ship. >all eyes are on that one ship >decide to flee that one ship in a bunch of escape vessels >no one in the massive fleet notices a bunch of small vessels coming out of the one ship they are all looking at But they were stealth!!!
Jace Parker
Yes, they were cloaked. Deal with it.
Justin Powell
Hmmm, thats a fairly good OUT but since it's never explicitly stated in movie canon, I WON'T ALLOW it.
Also, if the little First Order ships can go anywhere they want in hyperspace, why didn't Kylo and his team jump on the Rebel fleet, their missiles penetrated a shielded Rebel bridge, that should've worked against the whole vessel as well.
John Gutierrez
how the hell did they not see Rose and Finn running off?
How come no one on the Rebel ship saw them "deserting" the rest of them?
Hudson Sanders
>muh movie canon There are tons of official books released by Disney that clarify this stuff. The Star Wars universe is too big to be limited to a couple short movies.
Dylan Martinez
how long does the chase last? Why not call your allies in the meantime? even better why not call your allies before the film starts? You have to consider FO to be LARPing fanboys of the empire
Jaxson Johnson
Space battles are always fought at point blank range in Star Wars.
Colton Smith
Let's be honest, NuWars is made by a bunch of retarded SJWs and Jews who only care about diversity and shekels. They shat-out a basic plot with nostalgia memes to placate normies, and didn't consider all the plotholes.
Playing Devil's Advocate: We only ever see the Supremacy using its really big guns to shoot at the Resistance ships, so I'm guessing those were the only guns that had enough range. It's also mentioned that the Resistance ships were faster, and they also had a head start. Also, I'm assuming that hyperspace jumps aren't that accurate, and the ships would travel too many AUs away from the target with even the smallest jump. Maybe star destroyers can't make "small jumps" as accurately as smaller ships like the Falcon can.
Oliver Campbell
They stated they don't have the equipment to reach any one and need a more powerful planet based emitter.

What happened to C3-PO's red arm
Ryan Lopez
Not an argument. They're fought in close range so one side doesn't jump to hyperspace to escape.
Jack Peterson
Why not make the issue "no hyperspace entry point nearby" then, instead of "low on gas"? They literally always jump from everywhere they like.
Jace Thomas
the smaller interceptors could've gone to hyperspace and used their shield breaking missiles and that was in not only film canon but in that literal episode of film canon.
Ryder Taylor
I don't think the little FO ones can... if they are based on TIE fighters in most respects (no internal life support, no shields, sacrifice firepower for manueverability) then they probably don't have hyperdrive or astromech units, and expended their missiles after those few shots. Kylo's craft might. Either way, the smaller ships were ordered to stay with the larger fleet so it's a moot point.
Personally, i wondered why they attacked the bridge at all and not the main engines. No engines, no sublight or FTL travel.
Jack Butler
>Rebel fleet is in space >First Order jumps in right next to them and attacks >Rebel ships go full engines and get out of TIE fighter range >Star Destroyers pursue but aren't fast enough to outright catch them, but are able to remain in artillery range
I don't understand. They're fast enough to get out of TIE fighter range but not fast enough to get out of artillery range?
They jumped into the middle of fucking nowhere
Colton Davis
It's not Star Trek, it's not Science-Fiction, it doesn't make sense.
Hunter Sanchez
Too creatively risky for NuWars, so it’s back to gold.
Jeremiah Collins
why would you even reply to this thread you massive autismo
Ethan Wood
Why didn't the rebels lightspeed crash into the superweapon in episode 4, 6 and 7?
Justin Baker
They don't need entry points to be able to jump into hyperspace. What they need is accurate calculations so they don't go flying into something else. A hyperspace lane or route would just be an established set of coordinates that allow you to jump without worry.
That was already gone at the end of TFA. It was literally JJ paying homage to Hideo Kojima's Metal Gear games.
Nolan Cox
To be honest, I used to fantasize about being an over-the-top screeching Imperial admiral like Hux when I was a kid.
He's perfect villain pulp.
Caleb Hall
Why didn't the FO just offload a cruiser and preemptively /lightspeedmissile the rebels first?
"Rebellion" Status: BTFO.
Evan Parker
How does the map to Luke in TFA make any sense?
Grayson White
I don't get it
Carter Williams
I'm not sure about this, but I got the impression that the FO capital ship survived the kamikaze attack? One wing was completely blown away, but the bridge and other wing seemed fine.
Camden Richardson
FO TIEs have hyperdrives, life support and can enter the atmosphere. TFA showed that.
Owen Price
But Finn and Rose sneaked to a fancy casino were there phones there? If you can call allies they had chances to do it.
Christian Cooper
In Kojima's Metal Gear games, Metal Snake has a red arm.
Angel Gutierrez
This is the biggest plot hole. Why did Luke leave a map if he was going there to die? Why even go to that particular planet? It made sense when he was looking for Jedi lore, but he could hidden on any shithole.
Tyler Wilson
>How come no one on the Rebel ship saw them "deserting" the rest of them?
They did notice, one of the crew members was covering for them >General Tumblr: "wut was dat xdd?" >Crew member: "nothing, just space junk ;))" It was fucking stupid, I know
Easton Price
>Why even go to that particular planet?
It had a Jedi Temple + it was in the Unknown Regions, which is even more backwater than Tatooine.
Cameron Thomas
I don't remember any hyperdrive part.
Cooper Scott
...
Nicholas Mitchell
Maybe it was explained somewhere else but is this what is left of the first order? Like 30 people fighting other 30 people? Feels like its a small family feud and no one in the star wars universe actually cares about the rebellion and the first order.
Isaiah Smith
But why did he leave a map behind, shill?
James Anderson
yeah I know venom snake has it but why what's the relevance. what's the connection..
Austin Parker
Technically only one game (MGSV), and his codename is Venom/Punished Snake, but yes. Came out the same year as TFA after being hyped since 2012.
Carson Lopez
Star wars canon "lasers" are plasma bolts. Reasonably a plasma bolt would dissipate in a vacuum or any medium over a given distance
Nathan Wright
He clearly hates Kylo, so why the hell did he not just order the walkers to fire on him when he went to 1v1 ghost Luke.
Zachary Phillips
Because that would have been an action made by a competent, non-joke character.
Isaiah Adams
How do the rebels have low fuel if the chase happened as they just left? If their plan was to go to an abandon military base in the middle of nowhere what was their plan after doing that? There's no food, ships, or fuel in that base so basically their plan was to get stranded on a planet and hope someone stops by.
Ryder Clark
From the crossections book released alongside TFA.
Hunter Barnes
He's clearly a spineless coward who can't lead anyone, he doesn't want to be the supreme leader.
Colton Sanders
Here's the whole page for ants.
Anthony Ward
>>Why doesn't the First Order fleet slightly change their direction? Why don't they just launch several wings of fighters armed with proton torpedoes?
Grayson Baker
This, he made a move like he was going to shoot Kylo and finish him off but then when Kylo moved he immediately pussied out.
Logan Gutierrez
Can someone post the unedited version? I need it for argument purpouses
