>millions of SW fans getting analdevastated

I had a great time but that’s just the icing on the cake.

Yes, millions of Star Wars fans loved it. Try getting off Sup Forums for a while. Oh wait, you can't.

I left the theater an hour early because i just kept looking at my phone to see how much longer i had to sit through the shit.

I loved it, the old man loved it, my little sister loved it.
We were all dissapointed with TFA and RO and this was a great surprise

I liked it more than TFA. For me, it's worst flaws come down to the crappy and stripped down version of the Star Wars universe established by JJ. It would've been better if we'd started with Rian.

are the fight scenes good at least? I'll wait for the yify

Fuck no! This fucking sucked! It's over. Disney killed Star Wars!

did they say "ive got a bad feeling about this"

FYI there are women on TUMBRL hating on The Last Jedi. Think about that, retards.

The opening fight is fucking crap. Reylo vs snorkel’s guards is… well it’s gif related. Kylo vs Luke would be kino but the music is shit and also far too loud (or at least it was in my theatre)

Also, the final battle on Crait is almost exactly the same as the Batle of Hoth

And Finn vs Captain Phasma is one of the worst things I’ve ever seen in Star Wars, second only to

And? Women are usually wrong.

>second only too [[Luke’s death scene]]
Whoops, hit send too early there

They are Nolan tier, choreography is awful

>when the shills start getting passive aggressive
Lmao

no traditional 1vs1 duels, but the one lightsaber fight is great, it's probably the most violent fight in a star wars movie

the various other space battles, etc are all interesting and fairly creative by star wars standards

I liked it. It's the kind of movie that is actually enjoyable on repeat viewing because it's chock full of details. As opposed to TFA, which was fine on the first viewing, but you felt how shallow it was on subsequent viewings.

I left not knowing how to feel. Everything about that purple haired lady bothered me. Ackbar dying off camera. Phasma doing effectively nothing AGAIN. snoke dying w/o any explanation as to who he is/ his relationship with luke. The fact that luke mentions there being a dozen students in his academy and therefore there are 11 or so faggots with the force/lightsabers runnin around despite the films title. And the friggin green space walrus milk

not that i recall

Me. I loved it.

I don't know but i loved her

Got Reylo, not Finnrey, am happy.

Only past tense

opening space battle is amazing and we see the battle from perspectives we've never seen before that give it extra emotional depth

Rey and Kylo vs. the Royal Guard is the bloodiest and most intense fight in the entire series and it's amazing

Luke vs Kylo isn't a conventional saber fight but it's amazing seeing how powerful Luke has become over all of these years where he can completely wreck Kylo without being actually present

The only good part was the interaction between Kylo and Rey where they have their force conversation.

Literally the only good part.

Is it just me or that Luke in the poster looks like Harvey Weinstein ?

I hated tfa and ro also so my expectations were so low going in but I unashamedly loved it

I liked it. Were there some things that could have been better if they were done differently? Yes. Overall I still enjoyed it though.

>well it’s gif related
I’m assuming you meant this gif

Yes, I loved it. It's actually a top 2 star war movie for me.

I see so many complaints about "The plot did nothing to move forward, bla bla bla"

I can respect that but I see movies entertain me, not to fucking watch plot move forward. It's funny because I feel like you could make the same complaint about LOTR the two towers and it still turns out to be a great movie..

What I loved:
Lukes overall arc, the banter between him and rey.
Kylo and rey interacting was fantastic
The story of luke and ben solo
The entire final act was fucking fantastic
The set pieces were FANTASTIC, I absolutely adored the locations
Kylo and rey fighting the royal guard
The light speed kamikaze
The jokes overall, landed for me. They didn't make me belly laugh or anything but they made me smile
Rey exploring the darkside
I loved the pacing. For a two and a half hour movie, this thing fucking moves
Yodas scene was great. Didn't seem anything like the overly serious prequel yoda, I missed troll yoda.
Lastly, I loved the overall disregard for what people wanted.. Yoda taking a dump on the jedi texts (Not only was it satisfying, it also makes sense, the force doesn't exist within fucking books) and luke throwing the lightsaber, I love the willingness to shit on what's sacred (For a purpose)

Things I thought were meh:
The rose and fin subplot. I didn't hate it at all. It was kind of entertaining.. It's not like I was thinking "When the fuck is this going to end?" while I was watching it.. It just wasn't nearly as exciting as everything else.

What I didn't like:
Rose saving fin at the end
This is a personal thing I guess but it just felt too convenient and took away what could've been a very emotional moment.

Overall: My favorite starwars movie since empire. 9.3/10

Which one? They have like 3 force conversations

I love how butthurt it made the so-called theorists. Did you really think Rian Johnson would actually make the movie to satisfy your Snoke = Plagueis or Rey Skywalker fantasies?

Oh and why could snoke ‘bridge’ rey and kylo together over a vast distance w/o dying? Luke clone jutsu’ing himself across the galaxy literally killed him even when he debatably had assistance from the force in the jedi temple

Seattle down lad, no one asked for a bloody essay blog post

It was a good Star Wars

wrong.

>Yes, I loved it. It's actually a top 2 star war movie for me.
whinch one is your favourite ?

good taste m8

Lol @ kylos random ground stab and that one guy on the left who just turns around and leaves

>forced conversation
ftfy

Dunno what you mean. I read their post and I liked it. You should try reading sometime.

Snoke was full of shit. If he could do that, he could pluck Luke's location out of Rey as well, and he obviously couldn't.

So he was probably bluffing to pull Ben back from the path to the Light Side.

it was whatever, i honestly could give less of a shit about it, I didn't love it or hated it, I thought it was okay

Yeah I read the full things and only some of his points are valid. For one, Luke’s arc was absolutely atrocious

Eh idk man thatd be a direct lie to the audience aswell which isnt really star wars’ MO

I did. TFA was a let-down.

Empire

5>8>4>7=6=2

I loved it and it may go down as my favorite star wars movie, (I'll have to watch in again and rewatch Empire strike back before I decide).

imo it was a good improvement from episode VII, the main characters were expanded on more and the movie was far less predictable and much more original in the way it went. Snoke and Luke's death both caught me by surprise and also the way Kylo switched up and decided not to join Rey. I really loved what they did with Luke showing his mistakes and eventual redemption, and I couldnt have thought of a better way for him to die. It would have been a near perfect movie imo if they had let Leia die as well and made the Finn and Rose arc a bit more meaningful. I also love thay Rey's parents were revealed to be irrelevant and it mirror's how anakin came from no one as well, but was the most powerful force being.

it was fine

I thought he was alright. It wasn't his movie so I didn't care about him that much. His story was done before the film began. It was Kylo and Reys turn. Thats like saying the Yoda character was too silly in his debut movie. Like I give a shit about Yoda.

>Disney literally pays nerd virgins to shill on Sup Forums for their shitty cashgrab movie

Agree almost fully, however I feel like Leia should have died too instead of that ridiculous superman bit

>Disney shill or completely fucking retarded faggot

I liked it.
Some of the 'funny' bits seemed to be a bit out of place and I don't think they will age well, but all in all I was thoroughly entertained.
But don't tell Sup Forums that, we're supposed to shit on it.

Why do you think that though?

What good has luke seen the jedi do? Not much when you think about it. Ben Solo is Darth Vader all over again. You could have seen Vader as a fluke.. But when it happens again 20-30 years later.. Maybe it's time to just kill off the jedi as a whole. Guys like vader and kylo aren't small problems.. They're like weapons of mass destruction in this world.. Why keep training jedi if you just keep creating these monsters in turn? Maybe the world is better off without that kind of power.

I don't even agree with him desu but I can see where he's coming from.

Another thing to keep in mind.. This is not 22 year old luke.. This is old man luke.. 95% of the time, the older you get, the more bitter and narrow minded you get. I really like how the movie reflected that.

...

I wish they payed me lmaoo. TLJ is unironically in my top 2 star wars movies and I've been arguing with ppl on here since thursday

First of all, his character is the polar opposite of Luke in the OT. In the OT he’s a light hearted optimistic underdog. Now he’s a boring old pessimistic hermit who doesn’t even want to help his sister. Then he suddenly changes his mind about helping the rebels 2.0, without any explaination, and then fucking dies of exhaustion

like you know his feelings better than he does

I actually really enjoyed it. It still had big problems, the worst still being that Rey is completely unlikeable and hasn't had a single piece of character development, unlike Kylo who I genuinely enjoyed this time around. There was some dumb shit like flying space Leia and I couldn't stand every single forced in Porg scene for the kiddies, chubby asian girl didn't make me care, BOIega is still astoundingly ugly and annoying, Snoke was fucking wasted, the space battles were horribly protracted, too.

But I liked Poe, liked Luke when his little mannerisms come out, Kylo is actually a relatively complex and interesting character, I really liked them experimenting with the Force, with Snoke connecting Kylo and Rey's minds/spaces - Kylo brushing the seawater from his face was actually cool. In general the story was actually fine and most importantly, wasn't a completely safe, beat for beat remake of another movie. I think 9 will be a remake of Empire and Return, JJs back so all's safe and secure and non-threatening. Last Jedi will be the best of this trilogy.

Yeah the milk thing seemed out of place but does it really distract from the movie? Not at all.

Its kind of disheartening when Hamills character doesn't really care about dignity and just wants to live like a hermit and have the fandom go insane over it. Its like their imaginary pedestal isn't high enough.

yet you've been here reading star wars threads for a quarter of a day

>If anyone likes a movie I don't like he's a shill

am i the only one that like the concept of hermit Luke ??
i really like this idea that once great jedi falls and starts living a simpler life.

no i don't

No user you're supposed to bend over and let us shove this thicc meme riddled dildo in your ass until you cry goy- I mean uncle.

But it’s already been done twice

It makes sense, lots of star wars is set on eastern philosophies so him living like a monk works

It was better than the last one
the force awakens deserve levels of hate equal with attack of the clones
Last Jedi is an improvment so im not gonna hate it

>I loved the second half and I was able to actually follow the story because of how consistent it was

What did this random person mean by this?

>the big empire man is such a dumb meanie!!! >:(((

Movie lost me already 10 minutes in

This movie might not be for you.

>literally 20 indiana jones' run around and do heroic things while big bad wizard man touch female sidekick sexually

What the fuck were you expecting

These scene bothered me. It had so much potential but was just a mess

I've seen better shot fight scenes in fucking barebone-budget tokusatsu

why dose he stab the floor

He has autism

Anybody got the pic of leia on the man of steel poster?

hes a dark boi

youtube.com/watch?v=Kj3opk1QFTM

it's the worst star wars film I've ever seen

Ummmmmm yeah critics liked it sweetie

Where is that stream? Dead already?

...

It was as low as 56% before the disney interns and shills brought it up a tick to 57 user score. It was rated the lowest star wars movie. Let that sink in.

I completely agree with you.

I thought it was great.

But while I love the series, I’ve never been one of those hardcore fans that have nostalgia for the original series.

I’m happy they mixed it up with this one after how damn disappointing and safe TFA was. I’m glad they avoided all the stupid mysteries that JJ built up, because there was no way to satisfyingly answer questions about Rey’s parentage and Snoke’s origin without relying on old tropes that the OT already touched on. The further they can distance themselves from the originals, the better, because nothing can compare favourably against something like that trilogy and it’s cultural impact.

So that the one samuraii man can hit his stick off of it

Enjoyed it and plan on seeing it again.

More like the same fagboys who give every Marvel movie 1/10 without seeing it drove it up

I'm 100% sure critics were paid by Disney. The movie with Attack of the Clones. It tried to be funny Marvel style, with a lot of shit jokes, that killed the tension. Luke's comeback was wasted, I expected more.
Vader's appearance in Rogue One was way better for example. The spaceship chase which lasted all the movie was boring and ridiculous, and I'm not even talking about Leia supergirl, purple girl.
Opening was good, then the movie was boring for 2 hours, and got some action at the end.

>The story of luke and ben solo
why

Really enjoyed the film. Wasn't a carbon copy of previous movies like TFA.

The casino world sub plot was a slog. And the decision making by both Poe/Holdo were just completely asinine. Literal idiot ball holding to create drama and tension.

Really enjoyed the A-plot with Rey/Luke/Kylo though.

I liked it. At least it fucking tried and even succeded at times much like say MoS. Normies freaked the fuck out and now Ep IX is going to be a hackjob even by JJ standards, aaaand it's going to have 90% RT score and make eleventy billion.

On the flip side of this though is that this same public is apt to give any random movie a higher score than normal. If I'm not going to trust the general public for giving the Transformers movies a fresh rating, why should I take them seriously for disliking another?

Crait is worse than hoth not a single walker was attacked or brought down

First hour was boring as hell. I didn't like what they did to Luke. I was expecting a lot of lore about Jedis, and the Force.
The movie turned good with rey vs snoke.

Ending with the shitty death for Luke got me mad.

Cut half hour of the movie, remove that stupid Luke's death, and it's a good movie

Dude behind him was swinging for his head so that's why he ducks. Why he decides to plunge the fucker into the ground instead of defending his face from the dickhead in front is beyond me.

second best star wars movie after ESB

yeah

I liked it, but now I'm ready to hear the internet tell me why it's shit. Things I didn't like:
- Finn is treated like trash and ultimately ineffectual (remember when we thought he was gonna be the next jedi master?)
- That pink-haired thot looked ridiculous, and the film actually making her RIGHT in the end was annoying. Not sure if this is sexist but whatever. They set it up to make her the "villain" on the ship, and then nope, turns out she was right and Poe was a dumbass I guess?
- Porgs were obnoxious.
- Yoda looked terrible. But from what I've heard people actually like the puppet better than CGI, so YMMV.
- more sexism but - Blue Leader was kinda hot and I wanted to see her in normal clothes outside of a ship. Possibly even some kind of love story with Finn or Poe. Can't help but feel like killing her off so early was a waste.

The only decent parts of this movie were Benecio's remarks about good versus evil and Kylo's idea to destroy the sith and the jedi to break the gay black and white cycle of star wars. But of course allowing that to happen would make future Star Wars cliche faggotry impossible and the mouse would lose money. Oh yeah and the space effects were cool, pity they haven't a clue about airlocks or vacuums.
This whole thing felt so soulless, none of the characters have enough backstory or charisma to make me give a damn about anything that happens to them.
