I remember on one of my viewings of the trilogy I made a point of specifically paying attention to Artoo and trying to translate what he was saying based on context.

I love Star Wars. I have a decent knowledge of the old EU canon, and I've watched all of the canon animated TV series so far. >Did you like Star Wars: The Last Jedi? Yes. I am seeing it again tomorrow. The plot of the main characters (Rey, Kylo, and Luke) was awesome in my opinion with some of the best moments of the series so far. The subplots with the supporting characters were much weaker and felt like filler at times, but I still enjoyed the movie.

This.
Most of these boards have gone to shit in past couple of years or so. Not to say they were ever good, but it feels like they were never this bad. Now vast majority of posts are just incomprehensible garbage spouted by mongoloids who cannot argue or make a point worth shit. For ages i've just been chalking it up to the internet and people in general being in a constant decline but lately i've been realizing that a ton of the people posting are literal children and maybe i am just out growing this site now. Maybe it was always this bad in some form and way and i just didn't notice because i was more retarded and younger then. I'm fucking 25 which is not that old but i feel old. Crazy the difference 10 years can make in your personality, attitude, and intelligence.
Noah Robinson
All the books and shit show that Star Wars has basically limitless potential. People just don't realize it because they hate reading. Sure, not all of them are great, but my point is that they show the potential of the setting. And some of them are awesome.

I only really like the original trilogy. I think they're good films, but I don't worship them. The prequels were ambitious but very poorly executed, The Force Awakens was underwhelming and I don't care about any EU stuff >Did I like The Last Jedi Not really. I liked some stuff in it. I thought the Kylo Ren was the most interesting character and his dynamic with Rey was interesting too. Nothing else in it really thrilled me. I think just about all the new characters are dull. I didn't care for what they did with Luke's character too much, especially since he's always been my favourite. Overall I didn't leave the theatre with anything substantial.
Isaac Turner
Yeah you'd think so, but then the Jedi or the Sith show up and then you get the NotEmpire and the NotRebels and eventually you're left with the original movies with a new coat of paint.
Maybe it's just a case of writers being unable to let go of Jedi, Lightsabers, and the Force.
