Another fucking Star Wars thread suck my dick

>tfw Sup Forums was wrong as usual

How does it feel, knowing that TLJ has taken everything you ever loved about Star Wars (muh light vs dark side, muh good vs. evil) and completely shit on it? This movie promised dark turns and you autists should have braced yourselves. But now look at you, whining and literally defending the POS that was Episode VII thinking it would have led into a great storyline. It didn't. It never was going to. TLJ killing off the abortion that was JewJew Abrams' film was the greatest thing to happen to this franchise.

Search your feelings, Sup Forums

>(muh light vs dark side, muh good vs. evil)
KotoRII already did this. Looks like Star Wars video games win again.

A ton of people hate TLJ for the wrong reasons, but the movie itself is dogshit. That script was so retarded I swear I lost half my brain cells by the end.

How do you post without brain cells then?

it's Sup Forums

Nerves.

Came here to post this, this fucking movie is some amateur hour shit. The entire Finn and Asian lady subplot only existed because the purple haired bitch didn't tell Poe her plan. Instead she stays quiet and Poe sends Finn and lady to get code cracker for plan. They don't get him, they get some rando and head back. Purple hair ladys plan finally happens and it would work. EXCEPT THE RANDO THAT FINN AND LADY BRING BACK WITH THEM SNITCHES ABOUT THE ESCAPE VESSELS AND RUINS PURPLE MAGOOS FUCKING PLAN, WHAT IS THIS FUCKING WRITING?????

This was some next level contrived BS. Seriously fuck them for that shitty writing.

So.wait....the purple haired lady admits that her plan the whole time was to commit suicide by lightspeeding though ships?

How do you people actually watch movies? You somehow edit what you’ve seen so this meandering piece of crap actually looked decent in hindsight. Did you miss how two thirds of this movie is wasted? How lowbrow and forced all the humour is? How the dynamic between Rey and Ren, the only good thing in the movie, is thrown aside in the end. Nothing fucking happened. We got the bus tour of Luke and then he literally went poof and disappeared. Not one piece of new ground was tread on.

>get buttmad that Sup Forums is full of Star Wars threads
>make one pretending you liked TLJ
Okay.

>How the dynamic between Rey and Ren, the only good thing in the movie, is thrown aside in the end.
This. What the fuck was the point of setting it up when you're going to axe it just past halfway into the movie? "It took risks" my ass, Rey and Kylo are just back where they started from TFA.

moral relativism is a jewish plot to destroy everything good in the world

I partially agree. There were some problems with TLJ but it was more directorial and editing that fucked it, not the script. The story itself, especially Reylo, was pretty well structured.

Poe led to the deaths of over half his squadron. He was demoted, and then immediately went to tell the new General how to do her job when she had a plan and was executing. He also went ahead and staged a mutiny, only to be btfo'd later anyway.
The Finn and Poe subplots actually were very well intertwined. They started together, diverged in the middle, then successfully tied back into each other in an unexpected way. Poe had some solid character development, fuck off user.

>How does it feel, knowing that TLJ has taken everything you ever loved about Star Wars (muh light vs dark side, muh good vs. evil) and completely shit on it?

I honestly wished Disney could've ruined Star Wars for me much sooner. The shit I could've done with my free time that would've been more meaningful than spending another second with this shit series.

That's cool and all but the point still stands that half of this fucking movie is just a clusterfuck of bad communication that just wastes time.

>HURR DURR THE CHARACTERS AREN'T ROBOTS WHO MAKE PERFECTLY RATIONAL AND LOGICAL DECISIONS ALL THE TIME, SHIT WRITING!!!!111!!

wow it's almost as if an explicit point of the movie is that assuming the worst intentions of others leads to disaster, this is shown multiple times

No you're right, they aren't robots. They're one extremely competent pilot who lost half his fleet due to plot convenience (why the fuck weren't the fighters out intercepting BEFORE the enemy was right up the bombing run's ass?) and the other was one of the most competent and respected generals of the resistance.

Sure they can make mistakes, but if you establish both characters as extremely competent in their fields, you can't just have them go full retard when the plot demands it.

It feels like I projected too hard.

JimmyP77 on Letterboxd who said it best: "A film about letting go of the past and moving on that is pissing fans off who don't want to let go of the past and move on."

The purple haired lady didn't actually know what Leia's plan was. She was following orders by holding course because Leia told her to. The resistance look up to the Skywalkers as messiah figures, if Leia tells you to burn all your fuel escaping an armada for 18 hours, you do it, because you believe something is meant to happen in 17 hours or less.

based new england

Does anyone believe Luke's force ghost will be back in Episode IX, or has he moved on for good?

It would have been fine to do either or but now these two films make literally no sense next to each other. I have no idea how Disney could have approved this.

i like to fuck my cat

She was going to kill herself by staying on the cruiser to make the FO believe that they had finally finished them while meanwhile the transports landed them on the salt planet clocked.

It's only later does she think of just ramming the capital ship so it stops firing on the transports.

>Episode 7 remakes Episode 4 but with more diversity and scoops of fan nostalgia
REEEEEEEEEE STOP COPYING THE GOOD THINGS
>Episode 8 also copies Episode 5 but adds bold and new innovations seen nowhere in the original and essentially BTFOs Jar Jar's derivative trash
REEEEEEEEEE STOP CHANGING WHAT YOU'RE DOING

If someone was force feeding you antifreeze, and then stopped, would you critique them for being inconsistent?

So you concede that 7 was shit then?

Fuck yes! I'm new to this thread, I'm not conceding anything. 7 was a huge disappointment after waiting for ever and suffering through the prequels. Rogue One gave me a glimmer of hope, that TLJ has now fully rekindled. 8 is miles and miles better than 7 was.

The only hope of that is if he messes with Ren but I don't really see that. But who the fuck knows apparently there are no rules anymore.

Then why the fuck did she not told that she didn't had a plan and was doing whatever Leia told her to?

She was plain retarded because she was a supposed to be shown as an admiral that is isolated but can be trusted (and Poe as the hothead he is must know everything everytime and that creates the conflict), but as with everything in this movie is so heavy hander and underdeveloped that you end up with the feeling that she doesn't have ANY plan at and the ship is on course to disaster (which is what happens to the ship anyway in the end). If you are going to make a isolated commander, at least make it strong and honorable, make it be an inspiration for the crew, not this nobody that thinks she can shit higher than her ass.

KotOR 2 didn't because the entire point of Kreia was that she was a hypocrite. A manipulative Sith trying to get you to her dogmatic ways. The only good thing she did was to say "Think for yourself." Wow what an amazing and brilliant character. She was a complete and utter Sith till the very end, and when thinking for yourself happens the dogmatic view of the Sith comes into play, or the New Age/Post RotJ views of the Jedi come into play. Kreia was and will always be wrong on every point. The one good thing about her character is that anybody that believes her philosophy and 'deep' storytelling is nothing more than a manipulated child that fell right into the Sith trap.

You are no better than Kylo Ren.

Well be prepared to be ultra-disappointed with 9 then.

It sincerely triggers me that BvS got shit on while this will get praise.

Admiral Handol caused more problems than any one in the entire movie.

If she had told the plan, then Finn never would have tried to jump ship, never would have met Rose. The entire codebreaker subplot never would have happened, the codebreaker never would have switched, and Luke never would have had to come in with Force Projection killing himself.

She literally got one of the Galaxy's most legendary heroes killed, the entire Resistance nearly decimated worse than it already was, and gave a shitty fat asian screentime, along with a shitty uninspired Casino planet. The only good thing that came from her plan was that they helped inspire some kids.

ITT:

>muh childrens movie series is ruined

It wasn't perfect by any stretch but it was enjoyable.

Luke had a great send off, reminiscent of obi-wan's sacrifice in ANH.

But it STILL upheld the "muh light vs dark, good vs evil" story, just more bullshit and inconsistencies than the last two trilogies.

Rose is literally Jar Jar levels. I've already had this discussion with my normie friends.

Because she was 1) not very articulate, as Leia said, and 2) EVERYONE in the resistance feels the same way about the Skywalkers, except Poe Dameron. When the resistance fighters all say "May the force be with you" at the same time, Poe looked around at them with surprise and a little confusion/discomfort.

All of his actions can be contextualized as the only agnostic in a religious cult.

My expectations were already through the floor with 8 and I was pleasantly shocked. Don't tell me what to do buttlord

You can't have a mutiny consisting of one person. The fact of the matter is the leadership allowed the morale of her troops to hit rock bottom by refusing to communicate her plans to those that most needed to be aware of them, AND she failed to deal with a problem element (Poe) before he could become a problem again, despite having a proven track record of bucking orders. Poe fucked things up, but Holdo was a terrible commander that utterly failed to take appropriate precautions or keep those under her command confident in her ability to lead them to victory.

Northwest Front BtFO
Muh Northwest Homeland!

Get your asses to Maine, whyteboiz

But she didn't HAVE a plan. Her and everyone else except Poe and his companions were still taking orders from Leia while she was still in a coma. None of them thought for themselves because they had absolute faith in the Star Wars equivalent of St Alia the Knife and Paul Atreides

You know it to be true

My favorite was how Rose tasered 3 people for trying to desert this ship, but then the purple hair lady takes over and her plan was for everyone to abandon the ship.

purple haired lady blew fucking cock and had a stupid neck

how did the codebreaker switch sides when he was with Rose & Finn the whole time?
