Are you just shitposting or do you really think so?

shitposting

>what do you think of slow cinema
A made-up genre for festival-bait from literal who countries that can't into editing software.

what do you think of fast cinema

Better QOTD: What are the best movies of 1950s?

>HHH or Acipatzong Weerassatkul can't into editing
wdhmbt?

Witness for the Prosecution

I don't k now I mainly watch films from the past 17 years.

>not watching films exclusively from the past 10 years

Only Slept could love this movie...

Nothing they do is new or special. It's a stark reaction against post-classical Hollywood blockbuster editing, and pseuds that don't know their history think its special because of it being a stark alternative.

Let's BOOGIE!

tarkovsky looks like a crack addict pedo

tarkovsky looks like a crack addict pedo

Griffith already solved the conundrum of long vs short take. How does he create the illusion of lack of narrative momentum when he clearly uses many edits (especially compared to his peers)? Why do people find most of his output the boring shit ever put to celluloid, but they can watch Satantango and Uncle Boonmee 5 times over?

>sculpting in time
Tarko/v/sky's a retard too. The medium is not sculpting in time. It's recording space and sculpting WITH time. If you do not know the most basic tenets of your medium, why should you be taken seriously as an artist? Why should be considered an artist at all? Artists think and know about their medium, you're more a craftsman.

that's a dumb think to nitpick.

That's an anti-intellectual retort.

...

>movies

>gene kelly flick without any dancing in it
whats your probelm

Tarkovsky... the master of us all... the greatest director to ever live. I would uncover my head and kneel before his tomb.

>flick
Drop dead

Gene Kelly joints.

Let me guess, Gettysburg and Shakespeare in Love are going to make your best of the 90s list.

why would the bruce say that

>Civil War
>wacky, acclaimed film that also gives you just the right level of contrarian points if you say you like it

how do i get more contrarian points

Say Avatar is not overrated.

how do those apply to me

Inland Empire, The Mirror, Syndromes of a Century, Horse Money, the list goes on!

Born Today, Dec 17, in 1894, Director David Butler - Bright Eyes, The Little Colonel, Kentucky, Road to Morocco, The Princess and the Pirate, Calamity Jane, By the Light of the Silvery Moon

what movie

>British """""comedy"""""

Take your pick.

I don't like Tom Jones but I do enjoy would I lie to you?
New ep on monday!

why would only slept like it

dolly doongle!
wobbly wibbly willie!
god save the queen!

...

Just looked up score and reviews of Tom Jones. Plebs galore. 3 million lightyears better than garbage like Barry Lyndon. All I see is whining about "muh misogyny"

>Alibi is better than Barry Lyndon

Took a while but I managed to list most of the movies I've ever watched.
>Watched 1,412 films

Yes it is. Very. What social context does Barry Lyndon have, what merits does Barry Lyndon have to begin with

how many of them aren't shit

Barry Lyndon doesn't have a 5 minute dying scene

This is almost the disparity of Space Battles. It's baffling, I've never looked up recent reviews of Tom Jones. One of the best period pieces of all time, one of the greatest comedies, one of the greatest pictures

What is Emma Stone was in Space Battles

I love Star Wa's so much! I also love the aveniggers but sadly i'm not being paid to promote both at the same time, so stak walks will be my focus for now.

>wacky, acclaimed film that also gives you just the right level of contrarian points if you say you like it

Not a lot. My likes have two pages. letterboxd.com/plaguemouse/likes/films/
