I don't think I've ever been in love with a fictional character as much as I have with Noodle before. I don't know why, but there's something about her that attracts me; maybe it's the aesthetic, maybe it's her sense of fashion, maybe it's her ape like profile shots, maybe it's because she isn't like any ordinary woman (aside from the fact that she's a cartoon, of course.) I've felt this way since phase 2 days, and it's only become stronger entering phase 4.

I too have developed a huge crush on Noodle recently.
I guess it's that sense of age progression that most cartoons don't dare approach. Noodle has grown from a young, precocious kid into a confident, independent woman who knows what she wants, and that is really sexy to me.

I'm saddened by how much I don't think I like the new album.
The first listen, I was just shocked at how awful it seemed to me.
There's no real consistent theme to me beyond "vaguely club-ish music" wheras the last albums have had a solid tone and style to them.
Maybe this is just them doing a genre of music I could not care less about.
Maybe if you're into this kind of music, it's amazing.
Still, I'm sad that it's Gorillaz.

Gorillaz lore can be fun it's just more an after the fact thing though. Was Demon Day's story coming out simultaneously to the videos or was it an after the fact thing? When they tried the story simultaneous to Plastic Beach they got held up by the actual production of the album then they retconned most of it in the end.
It always worked as a fun little after the fact thing especially since it was so obviously done by a couple of guys getting together and going "what would be cool" with a little aside to actual album themes. I don't think it was anything really coherent until they had an actual writer shop most of it together into Rise of the Ogre.

The lore was awesome when it was worked into the music videos vaguely, so it engages you to try to piece it together on your own. But I fucking hate when they talk about all kinds that happened between albums, when it really adds nothing of value.
