They should've added Barbara getting pregnant with Bruce's child in the show

That one show with the robot being connected. Can't remember the name.

My biggest regret is that Batman Beyond had to die for it to be made.
It would have been nice to have had a couple more seasons, maybe round it off with something better than a Cadmus tie-in.
But of course the fucking monkey's paw would be that JL probably wouldn't have gotten made as a result or something else.

So much as it bugs me, I can let it go

This episode was GOAT.

In my opinion:
1. JLU
2. BTAS
3. JL
4. BB
5. STAS
6. TNBA

Eps that stood out to me in no particular order:

JL: "Legends" "Hereafter" "Comfort and Joy" & "Starcrossed"

JLU: "The Greatest Story Never Told" "Task Force X" "Clash" "Divided We Fall" "Epilogue"
& "The Great Brain Robbery"

BB: "Earth Mover"

BTAS: "Beware the Gray Ghost" "Joker's Favor" "Perchance to Dream" "Almost Got 'Im"
& "Heart of Ice"

STAS: "The Last Son of Krypton 1-3" "Mxyzpixilated" "World's Finest 1-3" "The Late Mr. Kent"

>Favourite shows?

Zeta Project

DCAU did twenty years ago what DCEU is currently failing spectacularly at.
>true to source material
>capttures the essence of the characters
>celebrates their lineage
>has exciting but well balanced connections among entries
>culmination when it had been worked up to

So fucking based, this franchise.

Needed more vigilante and shining knight

I actually wish the DCAU were a bit closer to the source material. I know I just end up sounding ungrateful as fuck considering how good the DCAU is, but man.

>wish we got the JSA
>wish the New Gods were more actual gods instead of just highly advanced aliens
>wish Aquaman was part of the team proper (at least make him a sort of "8th Ranger" ffs)

Otherwise, some other stuff:

>kinda wish it lasted longer so that we could've gotten the Sinestro Corps
>wish we got to see more Zatanna
>wish they would've brought back Jax-Ur and Mala from S:TAS in JL/JLU
>wish we could've gotten a few other characters, like Amethyst, Princess of Gemworld, Jay Garrick, the Endless, Lady Shiva, got more 'Totally-Not-Black-Manta' (Devil Ray, who didn't even get to interact with Aquaman iirc), etc.

Honestly I feel like I'm just nitpicking by this point though, considering how good the DCAU was.

>>captures the essence of the characters
Except the Dceu has done exactly that for Superman.
It being under a different tonal & social context with the Dceu being a much more flawed and realistically limited option having world doesn't change that.
Clark in the dceu is a much needed flashlight that has to fight for every bit of energy in a dark room now rather then a redundant unlimited power one on a bright sunny beach.

> has exciting but well balanced connections among entries
Mos & Bvs were linked together almost flawlessly.

Batman: The Animated Series is easily one of the most stylish cartoons ever made.

I mean, how they use light, the way the characters move, the music, the voices, the fucking scripts. It's quality is top top top tier

The DCAU was one of the few examples of Western cartoon shows having some baller fucking music.

youtube.com/watch?v=yte6GZhUXpg

God, that shit was so fucking good. I fucking love the rodeo-show feel that shit has, how it's just getting you hyped for the episode that you're about to watch, and how the intro itself introduced you to all these freaking cool characters you hadn't heard of beforehand.

youtube.com/watch?v=FHpOVBEXCxM

Don't forget this one. One of the best Superman themes ever.

Underrated

The fuck are you talking about

10/10 Episode

So is this just going to become an "awesome DCAU moments" thread?

youtube.com/watch?v=3ZI0zTsWZ_M

Can you not fucking read?
The essence of Superman is perfectly fucking intact in the Dceu.

youtube.com/watch?v=Cl_5UwS57X8

"Super or otherwise you're merely a man, and I am a God"

I would've given the Lanterns their own show.

>2nd Freeze episode
Deep Freeze. Also did Ra's and Jonah ever meet in the comics? That was sweet.

That whole final episode was so fucking hype. Just, everything about it.

>all out invasion of Earth from out of nowhere
>superheroes and villains teaming up to fight off the Forces of Apokalips
>Superman, Lex, and Batman vs. Darkseid
>Bats dodging the Omega Beam
>"I feel like I live in a world made of cardboard..."
>all those fight scenes

I feel like it should've been a two-parter but fuck if it wasn't sweet anyway.

Don't forget:

>J'onn J'onzz returns as a chinese dragon fighting parademons
>Cameo of nearly everyone in the current time DCAU
>Epic final shots of the heroes down the stairs with "and the adventure continues" music

>Epic final shots of the heroes down the stairs with "and the adventure continues" music
That shit made me so emotional back then and it still does now, dammit.

Fuck YJ, can we ever get a continuation of JLU?

>Comfort and Joy

comfiest episode ever

Until the very next episode where Hawkgirl is outed as a traitor

I've never seen a full episode of Static Shock. Is it worth it? Seems to be tonally different from the rest of the shows from what I saw of it. Only really feel like watching now because of wanting to be a DCAU completist.

>Snyderfags actually believe this
Justice League can't bomb soon enough.

It's not a belief, it's fact, the essence of Superman is giving hope & saving the day, just because under this universe's context he has to struggle, strive and make mistakes or sacrifices in order to do so rather then everything coming easy for him does not change that.
A character who can just basically wave there hand and the problem is solved isn't fucking inspiring, a person who overcomes their own flaws and the flaws & limitations of the world around them and saves the day is factually more fucking inspiring.

It's a good show . It coming out on DVD.

Except every other version of Superman manages to do all that without turning into an unlikable whiny baby.
>expecting Synderfags to have actually read comics
my mistake I suppose.

If you can get over the cringy as fuck opening that was trying to pander to black kids, it's pretty okay. They force in a lot of anti-racist anti-homophobic anti-(insert something Sup Forums loves) topics into the show. A lot of the music in it sounds like a twelve year-old black kid's first beats. Hotstreak is top-tier in the cartoon and never had a better incarnation than this.

Hey guys. Remember me?

Static Shock is great because Static is a likable hero and his power-ups are fun, spread out, and not contrived.

Plus
>Those NBA cameos tho
>AND they're superheroes

Michael Ironside fucking nailed Darkseid. Everything about his character, whether it being at the end of S:TAS or his return in JL and JLU, it was absolutely top-tier, and that lightning in the bottle is something everyone has been desperate to capture for their own versions.
youtube.com/watch?v=iTECNKpZAM4

Only DCAU show I haven't completed.

What about the Harley and Ivy webseries?

isn't that some fanmade BS?

Nope. That's canon. It's where Timm really started letting the lesbian relationship go crazy.

I liked JL more than JLU fight me

>Is there something they should have changed/removed/added?

Better/more classic renditions of Black Manta, Reverse Flash, and Cheetah. That's literally it though.

It's not as top tier as the other DCAU shows but it's still fun to watch & has a consistent plot through the series. Plus the main characters have a good dynamic together

>It's a Question episode

1:30 onwards
>MoS.jpg

It's worth a watch and part of the DCAU, some of the cross over episodes are pretty cool.

Years and years too late, user.

I still treat them as the same show.

Me too. They're really not so different that they have to be treated as two different shows.

Why isn't Legion of Super heroes considered part of it again?

Bump.

I want to see the other cities in the Beyond future like Metropolis and Central City.

Yeah but it makes me want Dream to come get the Dream Stone.

Artstyle is clearly not Timm's.

But didn't it start as a Supergirl/Legion spinoff before they went with Superboy? She was written out of JLU and was going to appear in that show.

Zeta Project isn't Timm's style but it's canon

For the same reason China isn't considered part of Europe; it isn't.

Because it's clearly not set in the same continuity as the DCAU is.

so comfy it's even in the name

He's a fucking Murderer you retard!!

>Earth Mover

Holy crap I still remember that corpse with the moving eyes. Scary stuff

>and that lightning in the bottle is something everyone has been desperate to capture for their own versions.
No kidding. No one has ever done Darkseid quite as right as Ironside has.

They'd better get him back for Injustice 2.

>Favorite shows?
I grew up watching JL/JLU, but my favorites are both Beyond and Static Shock (I loved watching it with my mama)

>Favorite episodes
The episode where Vergil goes back in time to meet his mama always gets me. Big fan of Epilogue, but more so for those compassionate Bruce Wayne scenes than the reveal that Terry is Bruce's son. I loved the Starcrossed two parter, and man JLU in general is just some good stuff.

>Is there something they should have changed/removed/added
Now that I think about it....the Bruce and Barbara shit. Also I would have liked it if Aquaman became a permanent member of the OG Justice League

I was surprised we saw so little of Zatanna, given how much Dini likes her.

Yeah, was always letdown that she was only ever in one episode of JLU. Well two, but the other one was just a cameo.

The episode where Galactea and the clones attack the Watchtower has always been my favorite.

Fuck off.

Bruce x Diana is the best

I want a superman show in the same style and tone as Batman:Brave and the Bold

...

Such an underrated show. When Rocksteady put the boot in the Arkham games I really wanted them to take this route but nope. Fucking cowards. Old man Bruce was a badass and Terry was worthy of the suit

youtube.com/watch?v=7uUslRQSg68

If you've got an hour to kill someone cut together a pretty decent movie showing the life of Bruce. Sadly it's the 'new' version that uses a couple of clips from the games but it's still worth a watch.

fuck u
Bruce x Selina will always be the best

God, fucking this. I want a Superman show that embraces a lot of the Silver-Age silliness and is one massive homage to every era of Superman.

>Is there something they should have changed/removed/added?

FIXED
SHADE

For a series I adored through and through and thought the world of, that was one part that always stood out as being utterly wrong on every level. What the fuck were they thinking removing such a charismatic and interesting character and replacing him with a guy with a boring costume and his powers coming from a stick?

Brave and the Bold was bloody brilliant. No idea why it pissed so many people off, if they were to do one for Superman that would be pretty fucking sweet.

Batman Beyond is bascially 10/10 cartoon for me.
What id did well was to handle somehow the forever-never solved status quo of batman villains, giving each a satisfying epilogue. I really would love to make a show out of Batman Beyond epilogue, where terry is an adult, and has to make being both bats and a more-normal-future guy in a cyberpunk future. I'd love that over fucking 1000x shitty and uninspired batman reboots.

The only thing else I wanted, aside from more Captain Marvel, was a resolution to the Amazo plot. As it stands, he's still just out in space somewhere trying to figure out how to counter Chaos Magic.

My shitty fanfic idea was for an episode focusing on J'onn just after he'd left the League and trying to figure stuff out, only to encounter Amazo who has returned and is trying to alter reality so as to create a perfect world with no problems and such.

J'onn has to convince him not to do this, paying homage to the fact that it was after assimilating J'onn's powers that Amazo broke free of Luthor. In the process, J'onn works out some of his own issues with human beings and comes to terms with being among them.

Amazo then fucks off again to think things over but at least this time it has less urgency.

Also, I ship AmazoxMercy.

It tears me up that there are no plans to make a Beyond Arkham game.

Like, holy shit, Batman in a no-limits, cyberpunk future? New gear, new abilities, new enemies, bigger buildings, tributes to Blade Runner and Akira all over the place? How could anyone not think that would sell? That's mass market appeal if I ever saw it.

I mean, everybody loved Spidey 2099 in the recent Spider-Man games and he hasn't been relevant since the 90s either.

People who were pissed at BATB were the people who think Batman should always be grimdark and edgy and won't accept anything that isn't. They also thought it was going to be insultingly campy and goofy like the Adam West show and that it was going to "ruin" Batman.

Jokes on them though. BATB was fucking GOAT and they missed out big time.

Nope. Instead you get a shitty skin

This skin is so wrong in so many places I basically cannot even. It looks like a bad porn version of batman beyond, though I think that such porn would get a higher budget suit than this.

I'm actually watching through Batman Beyond for the first time right now because it wasn't on TV in my country when I was a kid. It's surprisingly good, even though I don't normally enjoy Batman stuff.

BATB is interesting, but in the time it got released, people hoped they'd pick up DCAU in one way or another, thus I can see wehere people got dissapointed.

You're in for a treat. Brilliant show, great dynamic between old man Bruce and Terry, excellent villains. When done make sure you watch the episode 'Epilogue' from the Justice League as it serves as the finale to the series.

youtube.com/watch?v=zd5M5K5QtrM

>THAT FUCKING HANDSHAKE.

That's the unreal engine for you. even Gordon looks like he could bench press a truck.

I avoided this show for so long because I had this line of thinking, but after watching it recently it's easily one of my favourite DC shows.

>something they should have added

More Dick in JL/BB.

Also, the Teen Titans that they mentioned in Static Shock.

I've made it to the Shriek episode so far and you're correct so far. It also feels like they're playing around a bit with the medium and the normal conventions of Batman which I'm really enjoying.

I just want a Batman Beyond movie where the main villain is Shriek. Just so they can do the factory scene with no noise.

I'm still hoping that they'll do a continuation of JLU one day, and we find out that Amazo's been out, working with the Monitor (or at least A Monitor), trying to prevent a multiversal Crisis from happening, along with Lex Luthor, who we find out got scattered through the Multiverse after he disappeared in the final episode.

Then we get an animated movie or short season that's basically the DCAU's CoIE.
