Unpopular opinion thread

Gorillaz are overrated and mediocre at best

anybody that ships anyone from ed edd and eddy should get shot

why

Anybody that ships anything in general should be shot.

I don't like Dunkaroos

is nothing sacred to you?

its a cartoon

klasky-csupo's art style isn't THAT bad.

And speaking of art styles, I kind of hate Bruce Timm's and Gendy's. They aren't ugly or anything, they just feel so flat and boring.

Godzilla should have never been made into a franchise

Comic writers will never be taken serious because most of them wastes the potential of their works by writing like immature teenagers, especially the British.

Animaniacs and most episodes of Tiny Toons are written by the worst hacks in the story of comedy

Speaking of art, Walt did nothing wrong, the original fairy tales are boring and make no sense as a story (especially the original Pinocchio), all the offensive adaptations movies came after his dead. The only offensive thing in "Song of the South" is that there is a slave in it.

Disney should at least apologise by ripping off Tezuka with the Lion King

Some great songs but they're a singles band for sure. Also Jamie Hewlett is a God.

Also, Sup Forums should be less afraid of working together on projects again.

This is more of specifically a Sup Forums opinion, but while TLA was overall better, the Legend of Korra was a perfectly fine follow up and quite enjoyable to watch.

Rebirth is garbage.

Fear was never the problem. Having artists actually working on the projects along with the ones that just want porn was the problem

I like armored Starfire better than skimpy Starfire.

Most of zombie simpsons have good comedy, terrible plot, but good comedy

Hewlett is the only good part of Gorillaz.

>And speaking of art styles, I kind of hate Bruce Timm's and Gendy's. They aren't ugly or anything, they just feel so flat and boring

I always thought Timm's style was better suited for poses or pinup type work. When animated, I tend to agree with you--it's a little flat.

Rick and Morty isn't funny and was never funny.

Same for aqua teen hunger force.

It's the precise same brand of 'lel so randumb' american stoner shit that is literally on par with childrens' tv

>literally on par with childrens' tv

I mean, it's a serialized cartoon. Maybe your standards are too high.

Oh wow, this is gonna be a biggie

>Steven Universe is a great cartoon, and the best Transformers cartoon that has aired so far.
>Lars from SU is an amusing enough character, and the amount the show shits on him is just the right amount compared to how much of a dick he is for it to be funny.
>There's around one episode a season from SU that has a fucked up implication or is just plain boring, otherwise the series is entertaining and decently good.
>Music is absolutely key when making a cartoon; if your composer/timer/sense of musical timing is awful, your cartoon can be ruined
>Other than Zoe Saldana not weaing a fishnet suit and nothing else, I'm glad GOTG films took liberties with the source material
>The internet is shit at predicting what'll go wrong with films. Remember when we all thought the human torch's actor was going to ruin F4ntastic? And then he wasn't even the worst actor?
>Ghost Rider doesn't do well in tie ins; his very nature and pathos all becomes more trivial when you put him in the same universe as the Norse pantheon, Doctor Strange, etc who'd all want to help him for various reasons
>DC films are not subject to a crippling bias; Darkhorse films are. The entire Hellboy franchise is an example of what it means to be reviewed and viewed unfairly, while DC still makes huge amounts of money from subpar films
>MoS was the second best superman film at worst. And at best admittedly, but still
>The Mandarin was a villain that best belonged in the Pink Panther films; there is no way to play him straight, his very nature is bizarre. He's a mixed race, royalty loving Chinaboo who loses all his money and finds magic rings with constantly changing origins in a space ship. He also hates America, despite the entire political conundrum previously mentioned.
>Spiderman has a very weak roster of villains; other than Venom, Doc Oc and GG, all other villains can be seen up as criminal furries, psycho elemental and crossover hero.

I hope DickBabs gets to happen someday

>Mabel is a 12 year old shit, but that's just a coming of age thing. She didn't do what she did out of malice, she did it out of wishfulness and Knuckles level naivety
>Discworld deserves a cartoon, preferably on the Sam Vimes series; Rincewind, Susan/Mort and the Witches are all also excellent substitutions
>Fairly Odd Parents wasn't completely awful; the humour from episode to episode was fine, if not great. It does however need to end, as it was gotten stale.
>As an exception to the previous point, Constantine does have huge potential as a film series which I can definitely see getting shit on for various reasons (cough religious Soccer moms cough)
>Civil War would have been far better if Stark and Bucky just kicked the shit out of Cap for endangering the entire Avengers with his fucking awful info delivery
>The Dark Elves are a really cool concept, and murdering most of them kinda goes against the moral of the previous fucking film
>That being said, them wrecking shit does make sense, as Asgard is completely unprepared for war due to the long peacetime
>Ben 10's future episodes should never have been retconned, as the other futures are nowhere near as entertaining
> Alien X was fucking stupid. How did Asmuth get the DNA of a god into the Omnitrix?
>Sonic Boom is absolutely fantastic, especially the second season. Which is why it;s going to be forgotten forever, just like all the Advance games.
>Ratchet and Clank didn't deserve a movie
>Atlantis' and Moana's teams if they worked together could make a singular masterpiece out of the sections they got right in their movies; that being said, I'd love to see the overlap and both movies are good on their own.

Superheroes suck and are a blight on comics as an artform.
Most acclaimed adult graphic novels have mediocre art.
The current trend of naive and similar-looking styles in alternative comics has to end

Unless it's this Album.

Teen Titans Go! is the best show on Cartoon Network, and that's including Samurai Jack.

It's a common problem with any forum gathering to collaborate in general. For every one artist/writer/whatever who actually wants to work on something you get about a hundred "idea guys" who either just wanna talk about shit without actually doing anything or just want porn. Eventually the "idea guys" push the one or two artists/writers out by either being twats or changing the initial project so much that no one wants to work on it anymore.

The Watchmen being in DCU is the least thing I'm excited about from Rebirth

Character fags keep the comic industry alive

Comics shouldn't even change their characters designs / personalities to match a cartoon / movie no matter how popular it is.

I know it's bait, but otherwise I'd suggest you're clinically retarded.

>I know it's bait, but I'm going to reply anyway
Congratulations, you are the cancer.

Caroline was the only good laikia movie.
also laikia is basically the wes anderson of western animated flicks

What the fuck is this shit fanart? At least post a screencap or something.

>Comics should have a monthly subscription instead of forcing people to buy every comic.
>Lance should be the main character of Voltron, not Keith or Shiro.
>TTG has a more likeable Raven than the Original show does.
>Blackfire is a better version of Starfire.
>Dick Grayson is the worst Robin.
>Huntik's first season was better than its second.
>Billy and Mandy is funnier than Ed Edd n Eddy.
>Emo crap like Homestuck and Invader Zim have okay world-building but abysmal characterization.
>Writers who can't take criticism like SU create fandoms who can't take criticism.
>If you're writing for children, you still have to acknowledge criticism, otherwise you're being hypocritical.
>Filler/Episodic episodes are amazing when writers don't fall into common plots. Since writers always run out of ideas, we end up with terrible episodes.
>Filler episodes are better at giving characterization than Arcs or Specials.
>Cal-Arts isn't bad, it's the eye-watering bright palettes that kill me.

Comics don't force people to buy every comic though, where are you getting this from?

>Blackfire is a better version of Starfire.
I'm really hoping "better" is only referring to your dick here, because otherwise I'm worried for you.

You didn't like Kubo?

Also, I'd agree with you on the Wes Anderson comment, but everyone who says that always has a different Wes Anderson film that they say stands out like a diamond in the trash.

I agree with this 100%

The protagonist in Cats Don't Dance was the real villain.

It's more that everything after the first album is progressively worse and proves that the actual genius behind the group was Dan the Automator.

Depends on which Timm style do you mean. If you mean BTAS when it's that kind of late '80s/early '90s Warner style filtered through Golden Age Hollywood then it's great.

If you mean everything fron Superman/TNBA and on then yeah although IIRC the reason for the change, beyond just making TNBA line up with Superman visually, was that it was easier to animate.

there is nothing wrong with changing an established shows art style.

its when you start making the established characters look completely different from the base character is whats wrong

>Superheroes suck and are a blight on comics as an artform.

The industry of superheroes, yes, the actualization of the superhero, no.

There's a lot of "have your cake and eat it too" with Rebirth which makes everything a confusing mess which is going to necessitate a new Zero Hour style story to work everything out. I dont' think it will but at the same time I won't be surprised if when a story like that does occur (probably whenever this Watchmen stuff comes to a head) that the New52 is more or less phased out in favor of the original DCU.

the punisher is a one dimensional shit character that only beta edgelords agree with or relate to

anyone who describes something as "fun" is mentally lazy and can't formulate their opinions into actual words or ideas

nothing is as bad as most people make it out to be

Marvel has some great ideas but really poor execution and marketing

batman is overrated as fuck

deadpool is casual bait

anything by bryan lee o'mally is shallow and vapid and really only appeals to the same people who like slice of life anime

a lot of heroes should pass the mantel or raise a kid to pass it organically in the next 2 years

wolverine drinks shitty beer

>Gumball has always been mediocre outside of season 2. From story to visual design, the show doesn't pride itself at all and always turns to a way to get a cheap laugh.
>Brave and the Bold is a better Justice League cartoon than the actual Justice League cartoons.
>I understand that artists may want to draw fanart, but you have the skills to make your own story. Be creative and stop sucking the cocks of the people who just want you to draw waifu shit of a twenty year old cartoon all day. Make your own damn waifus even, just tell me your own stories.
>Superman's son looks like a fucking dyke and you should feel bad for liking a character who was made without soul.
>The comic and movie version of V for Vendetta are very good for different reasons. However, I will say that the comic book is very dry when it comes to its art.
>comics>cartoons. In fact, cartoons are the lowest form of entertainment. Not all cartoons are bad, but the majority of them are.
>Chowder and Flapjack are overrated. AT and RS are better. People who think that Chowder and Flapjack directly saved CN are idiots.
>RS and AT needed to die a long time ago. People who complain about them slowing dying don't understand that their shows had a long life.
>People here don't have a fucking idea how important TTGO is to CN. Sure, the show is fucking shit, but CN is too damn dependent on it for its survival. They can't kill it until they get good cartoons that people actually want to watch.
>Teen TItans is and always has been shit, regardless of the form in is in.
>If you enjoy being in a general or anything like it, leave this fucking board. If the show you like has a general in /trash/ and you go there, fucking stay there.

These threads always suck and are just glorified contrarian circlejerks

only wrestlers should be allowed to play most superhero movie roles

also most wrestlers have better lore/storylines than most capeshit nowadays

Good.

It's better for people to post their whiny complaints here instead of disrupting the other threads where people are actually enjoying the things they discuss.

>but you have the skills to make your own story. Be creative

This is how Mignola came up with Hellboy. Rather than do the stories he wanted to tell for superheros he made Hellboy and made him do them all.

Be creative, people.

This.

this, phase 1 was best phase

>I honestly think the only reason Pan defends TTG is because his art style is so similar to it
>just becuase a cartoon has a story dosn't mean we have to suck its dick all the time
>I fear that with Samurai Jack new-found success we will get a lot more edgy reboots
>but I'd rather have an edgy reboot then a kiddie one
>comfy is just a word that people use to explain shows they don't have an actual reason to like
>Steven Universe died when Jasper jobbed and died
>cartoon series are too long for their own good
>saying something is "XD CANCER" is facebook tier at this point
>I have no idea where to start reading comics but I actually want to read them, I don't post in comic threads as to not anger anyone
>Where the fuck is my real robot western cartoon

Someone says this every thread, post this in the popular opinion thread

>>I have no idea where to start reading comics but I actually want to read them, I don't post in comic threads as to not anger anyone

Waifufags are the most cancerous people on this site.

Paranorman was ok, but I see the point

I would say they are the third most cancerous. Number one is the memers and two is the anti-___ fandom who make the threads about shit they hate.

>no one has taken this obvious bait

I'm so fucking proud of you all.

I'm catching up on comics I missed out, since I began reading in like 2011 and then stopped from 2014 to now. Finished Annihilation/Conquest and Secret Invasion. I found that Marvel do hold the better overall stories.

I really want to read the current stuff but don't have the time and don't want to keep switching stories. Namely Rebirth and Secret Empire.

>Child characters should be voiced by adults. 90% of the child-voices I hear in cartoons are either annoying or just bad when actual kids voice them.
>I'm very disappointed so little animation fanatics have actually seen Ralph Bakshi and Satoshi Kon's works.
>Anime and cartoons are the same thing, just as Russian cartoons are the same thing as western ones.
>Similarly, restricting yourself to only watching one or the other is stupid.
>I don't think Pixar's gone downhill, but I worry they're a tad rusty in the last couple of years. Inside Out was great, but FD didn't need to be made, and The Good Dinosaur was awful.
>I don't inherently mind the Cars movies, as they at least make Pixar money.
>I worry "edgy" is starting to lose all meaning. I used to like it being used for things that try to be hardcore/cool/whatever and ended up stupid, but now it seems sometimes anything above PG is edgy around here.
For fucks sake, someone actually complained that the PPG movie was edgy once here.

>nothing is as bad as most people make it out to be
It's a problem with all of Sup Forums, at the very least. Things have to either be the greatest thing ever or literally unreadable/unwatchable/unplayable whatever.

>The first three seasons of Family Guy are over-rated.
>Fanboy and Chum-Chum was OK. Not good, not bad, just OK.
>I prefer the short skits on Robot Chicken, the longer they run the less funny they feel
>The Power Rangers reboot was a hilariously awful trainwreck and I want more
>There needs to be more horror-comedy kid's shows
>I'm fucking sick of the Joker and want to see more of Batman's weirder villains
>Man of Steel wasn't that bad

> All 3 Punisher movies were decently good.
> Marvel's Hercules sucks, Beta Ray Bill & Hickman's Hyperion are much better allies for Thor.
> Except for a bit too much badly placed humor & a missed opportunity in making Ultron menacing, AOU was great.
> Nat & Bruce was great & their scene at Clint's farm was among the best emotional moments of the Mcu films.
> Karen Paige in the Netflix series is fantastically acted & is the best female character of the entire Mcu.
> 90s Spider-Man Tas was much much better then 90s X-Men Tas. Especially im regards to animation.

>anyone who describes something as "fun" is mentally lazy and can't formulate their opinions into actual words or ideas

Good luck getting that stick out of your ass, user

>2006-2008
What is this? I've never seen it before.

Star vs The Forces of Evil is garbage and I don't understand the people that claim they watch it for reasons other than waifus and shipping.

This.

>The Powerpuff Girls is the only good old Cartoon Network show.

I tough Eva and Tristepin romance was interesting, i like the idea of her beign pregnant at the start of season 3, shows how time passes
But i cannot forgive the walking Sin that is adamai, and i hope they Develop a bit of those feelings yugo has for Amalia

Yeah, I just can't get into it either.

Also, I've loved all seasons of Gumball desu. It's become one of my favorite shows in general. I think that's unpopular here idk I'm drunk

totally agree. Adamai almost singlehandedly made me stop watching season 1.

I've caught up to all the main stuff, but my god Adamai is easily the worst part of it.

Waifufags are the most annoying posters across all of Sup Forums and ruin every thread they post in.

I can't believe its beating tron uprising in the cartoon poll

the last two episodes of Samurai Jack were actually not very good. Like a 4/10. I love the rest.

Season 6 of Adventure Time is great, and I liked The Comet.

The Misadventures of Flapjack was the best cartoon ever made.

its shaggy and scooby doo get a clue. i remember hearing about it but never seen an episode. not surprised it was sweeped under the rug so quickly.

Definitely a beacon of light in the darkest days of CN. I think if it had come at a better time, it have been a lot bigger.

Trooth

Friz Freleng is one of the most overrated cartoon directors of all time.

That's one thing John K got it right.

this desu

I'm kind of surprised that that many people actually liked it.

also it premiered on my birthday. a sign from god? yes.

Daredevil>Iron Fist>Luke Cage=Jessica Jones
The MCU shows are more interesting than the movies.
Every DC live action show is shit, though Arrow was once good.
MoS and BvS are better than every MCU movie, though SS is garbage.
Bendis is a great writer on street level heroes.
Damian Wayne is a terrible character and only tolerable in Tomasi’s Batman and Robin
Ed Edd and Eddy is a terrible show with horrendous voice acting, a vomit-inducing artstyle, and irredeemably grating characters. Same goes for American Dad
Rick and Morty is entertaining, but anyone who thinks it's any deeper than a puddle is delusional
Pixar hasn’t made a decent movie since the first Toy Story.
The Incredibles is disgustingly overrated and a genuinely awful film that doesn’t even look as good as Pixar movies that came before it.
Inside Out is also incredibly overrated, but looks nice and is merely mediocre.
Zootopia is just okay.
The new MvC and Injustice games look terrible.

>90s Spider-Man Tas was much much better then 90s X-Men Tas. Especially im regards to animation.
Is this unpopular?

>Inside Out is also incredibly overrated, but looks nice and is merely mediocre.
inside out is fucking terrible. i took my little sister to see it and we both fucking hated it. i havent been in a theater since.

They should because all of Sup Forums projects are shit.

Suicide Squad is a good movie.

>Arrow was once good
No.
>Bendis is a great writer on street level heroes.
Moon Knight says hi.

Big Hero 6 and Wreck it Ralph are boring movies.
I just think the characters are uninteresting and boring, specially in BH6. At least Ralph was a good character in WiR.
Specially in BH6, I didn't give a fuck for whatever happened with any of them, they were so plain and one dimensional. Even the emotional parts felt cheap.

Rick and Morty's alright, and like it or not is the best thing to have happened to Adult Swim in years. Without R&M's success AS would still be pumping out live action trash on a shoestring budget. It was the big ratings bump they needed to finally get some startup capital to fund good shows again.

Regular Show and Adventure Time are mediocre as hell, and their success completely lowered the standard for quality animation.

I enjoy things.

I genuinely like LoK better than ATLA

>Korra and Asami both giving Bolin that look
I like where this is going

Young Justice is overrated and way too convoluted. Weisman's superior show is Spiderman

I enjoy fanfiction and I think writting as a way of creating fan-content has a worse stigma than what it deserves, specially on Sup Forums.

Manga has always been superior to comics, Anime has had ups and downs and right now it is also ahead, and it's been that way for a while.

Sup Forums was so desperate for an action cartoon that they are blatantly ignoring Samurai Jack's flaws in both the new season and original run.

Disney is painfully mediocre and I can count in one hand the good movies they've made in the last 15 years.

Most of the comedies that came out from adultswim have been to below average to ok, nothing more, yes, all of them.

I want a third Avatar reboot.

There are like, only 3 good western animated shows airing right now, and one of those is Adventure time, for some reason.

>I want a third Avatar reboot.
how do you go from zero reboots straight to a third reboot?

Sequel, sorry, although I probably should've said third series.

I want Jack and Ashi to get together. I just don't think it'll happen, I want it to.

Demon Days was the only album that was good all the way through, excluding the intro which is pointless.

Demon Days > Gorillaz = Plastic Beach >>> The Fall >>>>> G sides = D sides

Mabel isn't a completely selfish narcissistic bitch. She's actually kind of cute and I like her and Dipper's relationship.

late AT is massively better than earlier AT

Goliad best AT episode.

Townie episodes are pretty alright, sometimes very good.

Sup Forums has shit taste
