Tora! Tora! Tora!
Disgruntled German pilot was the best.
big red one
Hackshaw Ridge
Die Brücke and Overlord
Pfft, pretty much any? It didn't even have any Americans in it.
Cross of Iron
Fury, Lone Survivor, Hacksaw Ridge, Saving Private Ryan.
Everything everyone else has said and Stalingrad, the one that came out in the early 90s. Cripplingly depressing movie.
this
great escape
DAS BOOT
Inglorious Basterds
Enemy at the Gates
Every war movie directly after that war. Every WW2 movie shot after the 60's is trash.
Thank fuck
kino
The one they made to orchestrate the holocaust.
Saving Private Ryan will never be exceeded.
Red tails
Nothing will ever surpass this in cinema for me. CGI just can't cut it and Nolan knew it. He did a nice job considering he only had 2 or 3 planes to film with.
So sad that they scrapped all those old Brit and German fighters and bombers after the BOB movie, even wrecked a few in filming. At least we got to see them before they were gone.
>Red tails
fucking lol
Abbott and costello go to mars
Schindler's List
Life is Beautiful (La vita è bella)
Casablanca
The Pianist
Grave of the Fireflies (火垂るの墓)
Downfall (Der Untergang)
and the anons above mentioned others. Mind you, I did like Dunkirk, but it's bait to say it's the best WWII movie ever made.

Fucking hell, Sup Forums
>What a shame.
I've often wondered why there's no BOB remake yet, but maybe they're just afraid of the CGI looking like shit compared to the original.
The dogfights are fucking amazingly choreographed too........like a ballet in the sky with that classical score.
oh....sorry, I'll go.
Dunkirk sucked and only nolanfag plebs liked it. Also The Human Condition part 2.
N-no user stay!

Go look at the Amazon reviews NOW, plebs are giving it one star because of the dialogue
This. Along with The Dam Busters.
There's quite a few airworthy Spitfires left.
this movie is complete shit though
Great movie. But why was that ending so abrupt? It felt like the movie had one more salvo left but then just cut to the credits.
>the fire rises
The ending was good imo. Laughing to all that mess was the only sane thing to do.
Kelly's Heroes
can't believe it hasn't been mentioned yet

fun fact: there's no such thing as GREAT ww2 movies. there are some good ones, but no one has made a great ww2 movie yet. few makers have come close here and there (dunkirk being the latest try) but that's about it. and it's not going to change any time soon.
Ivan's Childhood or Come and See.
Honestly, Russia should just be the only country producing WWII films
I used to think this until I read the book 'voices from D-day' and I realized what a load of shit speiljew is
Das Boot is pure kino
