So what's Sup Forums's verdict on the best version of Star Wars OT films? Original 1977 release/Despecialized version, 1997, 2004 dvd or 2011 blu-ray? I think the blu-ray looks best for the most part, despite keeping some of the retarded changes from previous versions.
Tried to get as close to the originals aas possible, yet kept some of the not so retarded changes, since they gave a better picture.
Jaxon Williams
They all look terrible.
Jayden Foster
Why would anyone pick the special editions over the originals? >haha love the Jabba scene >love Greedo shooting at Han! >love the CGI backdrops in Mos Eisley! >love how Luke screams when he jumps after the Vader duel >love Jedi rocks! >love Darth Vader's reused sound clip from III when he throws the Emperor! >love Hayden Christensen Force ghost!
Owen White
Because original looks and sounds like shit. I can tolerate a few retarded changes if I get superior picture and sound quality.
Elijah Phillips
Bespin is actually improved in ESB
Jaxson Lopez
For me it's not worth the retarded changes
The special edition of Empire is the least worst offender, but I have a soft spot for the original Emperor. The dialogue was better too. Plus Boba Fett's original voice was cooler
Charles Stewart
Originals. The few actual visual improvements aren't worth having to deal with the boatloads of badly fitted CGI additions.
Brandon Sanchez
>Because original looks and sounds like shit. It looks fine for 1977. Do you also watch colorized bw films?
Jaxson Hernandez
He means the 1977 print scans I guess. The actual picture quality.
Lucas Martin
>I have a soft spot for the original Emperor. Plus Boba Fett's original voice was cooler Changes of the 2004 DVD Edition, not 1997 SE.
Jace Bell
Boba's change for canonical reasons makes sense but the entire idea I'll never forgive.
I'm in love with Ian so changing the original emperor while unfortunate for that actor I'm all for.
The two worst changes of all time are Luke and Vaders screams. Unforgivable.
Evan Wood
Silver Screen Edition is better than Despecialized.
Leo Roberts
35mm rips. Empire and Jedi are rough looking (with the exception of a couple of reels here and there), but it is the films in their truest form.

Harmy kind of went overboard with Despecialized. They're all closer to the Blurays than they are the original prints, which was the whole point.
Kayden Jenkins
I'd be okay with the Emperor change if they didn't change the dialogue too
Hunter Hernandez
Hmm I don't recall the dialogue changing but yes that's definitely not good
Jaxson Ortiz
why does the 2011 one add a lot of shit?
Christian Rivera
what's the difference between the two? I just watched the despecialized and I thought they were pretty good
but I don't mind the special edition changes as long as they don't change dialogue (vader yelling nooo in rotj and ruining the entire mood) or what happens (greedo, hayden ghost)
I just want a special edition that fixes the over saturated colors, removes the dumb SE story changes, but keeps all cosmetic changes (sarlacc with a beak is fine to me) and new shots
Adrian Nelson
pretty sure lucas hated his fans at that stage and decided to fuck with them on purpose
Ian Reed
Everyone would love to have their own personal mix-and-match of what to keep and what to leave out in their versions of Star Wars. But you're an adult, not a child, and hopefully by now you realize the real world doesn't work like an ordering machine at Jack-in-the-Box. You either accept all the special edition changes, or don't.
