he brought bond back from spaceshit (Moonraker) down to earth

I thought he was a good bond but the writing wasn't very good for the ones he was in. The Living Daylights, the drug lord one, was generic; could have been a chuck norris movie.

It also started off with his best friend being fed to sharks and his bride raped to death.

That's pretty hard fucking edge for the time.

yes

he was too good for the role though

He should have been in more Bond movies. Dalton has that air of aggression and ruthlessness that Connery had, and that Craig has to. You watch him and you believe he's capable of killing a man.

What? His films were so boring

>durrr not enuff explosions
>durr not enuf one liners
kys brainlet

dalton was the best bond when the series was at it lowest...
licence to kill is the most gritty violent bond there is i love it ...
agreed
yeah its criminal there should of been another bond movie after licence to kill ... i think never say never again really fucked shit up for the franchise

yes

>make one movie
>it's the best in the series
>everyone thinks you're a joke bond

jfmsu senpai

OHMSS super sucks though.

OHMSS is seriously one of the worst Bond films of all time

Literally only Connery was consistently good, all the others have their moments, I like Roger Moore's first and third films, Goldeneye and Casino Royale but a lot of this series is shit

I didn't expect to like him but he was pretty good

>GOAT score
>first bond movie to actually add dimension to him
>GOAT snow action scenes
>based father in law smuggler
>Had the balls to end on a downer note

Plebs leave, OHMSS is one of the GOAT, diamonds are forever is literal trash for ruining its poignancy

>watches James Bond
>doesn't like explosions and one liners

Next thing you know he'll complain about the tits.

His films were boring I agree. But he was one of the best bonds. He just needed a decent film to be in.

but living daylights and licence got lot of explosions
>military base, plane, aston martin autodestruct, bridge
>drug factory, tanker trucks
one-liners too

Good movie, but he wasn't a good bond

Yes.

I'm not sure if the franchise going into rights limbo was a boon or not though. I would have enjoyed more of them with him, but at the same time he never had a chance to do one of those really silly bad ones everyone else fell into.

It's far from the best, but it certainly has one of the top tier themes and an aesthetic onto itself that really worked. Casting an under aged wannabee for the lead was a mistake.

I don't get that from craig

I don't know if he's the best Bond, but his batting average is 1.000.

That's because killing a man and finishing him off isn't necessarily the same thing...

remember in Never Say Never Again when he plays video games against that one guy, I guess the villain.

I want to play that game, it looked really complicated.

>raped to death
This can happen?

Barbara Carrera was great in Never Say Never Again. As a movie, it was pretty alright, and as a Bond movie it wasn't bad, but it's still a bastard stepchild that shouldn't really be lumped in with the rest.

...

Living Daylights has my fav Bond theme from all the films. i may be a pleb but i never get tired of it

License to Kill is hugely underrated!!!FACT!!!

only my feeling or Dalton Bond seems more... hmm idk how to call it, "gentle"? towards women?

It's in my top Bond movies. The whole plot of Bond systematically fucking over a guy for revenge is better than the usual "hell lets do what we always do and hijack some nuclear weapons and hold the world for ransom", pushing the chase scene to the very end is unique for these movies, both girls are sexy, the villain is one of the good ones. It's a great movie.

Yeah, he's more charming than forceful

the Dalton bonds are good. Real brutal. More like the books.

Idk

>moonraker is bad
"no"

yes

He was way too young for the role. The mountain laboratory scenes in particular seem like an outright parody of Bond and I'm not sure how much is the script or his fault. The overall story was one of the best though. It's always been said that if Connery did the film it would be considered #1.

The soundtrack and cinematography is a serious contender for best though.

Goldeneye was the only good Piercekino though

Yeah. It's a little awkward in the Living Daylights, though, when they try and make him do Roger Moore stuff like landing in the boat at the beginning. It's so obviously not Dalton.

I enjoyed his portrayal of bond the most, I like them all except die another day
