Tintin in America StoryTime

On this early adventure Tintin is going to Chicago for defeating the Mafia!

...

...

Are these new America Spirits packs?

...

I didn't like this one because too many of TinTin's escapes here were enabled by sheer luck instead of 50/50 like in the other books.

Particularly that sausage machine scene. Even if it was a pretty funny social commentary gag.

...

but the plot armors are twisted as fucks.

...

>A single Belgian teenager, and his dog, succesfully takes down the entire Chicago mob which the American police was powerless against
What did Hergé mean by this?

...

...

It was mostly because the cliffhangers were done week to week and Hergé didn't plan things in advance at this point so he had to come up with escapes after the fact.

...

It's so weird that Al Capone is in this story, this is the first and only time real people showed up in this series.

it was also a comic strip on the first place, with black & white primitive art, this version is a 50's remake.

...

...

...

>beats up half of the soviet union
>takes down international drug cartels for fun

One should not fuck with Tintin.

...

...

...

...

...

...

...

...

Spirou also has quite a track record

...

So, if Tintin is able to single-handedly defeat all crime in Chicago, why doesn't he go to every city in the world and repeat the process?

...

You're supposed to weigh him down with cement or something you morons.

the crime resumes as as normal as soon as he leaves. nature abhors a vacuum.

...

...

Wait, what exactly did Tintin do here? It seems to me like the cops did all the work.

...

And now we get to the part that was cut out of the animated series.

...

...

...

...

Will you stop this stupid shit? Don't you have some shitposting about Batman and the Joker to do?

...

Well, that's surprisingly brutal commentary.

Looks like he planned the operation.

...

...

Tintin has got to be the luckiest motherfucker that ever lived.

...

...

...

...

>I raised the alarm and we hanged a few fellers right away
lel

Also this comic really makes the US seem like it's about as big as Andorra.

...

...

...

>the checkers on their shirts stay the same irrespective of their pose

REEEEEEEEE HERGE IS A HACK!

...

>A FUCKING BOOMERANG

are America and Australia so easy to confuse for Europeans?

...

...

HE CAN'T KEEP GETTING AWAY WITH IT

I love this page.

...

...

...

...

...

...

In the 1920s?
Yeah.

Mind you this is the last album where Hergé was so shoddy about his research, most subsequent albums tend to have less nonsense.

readin'

...

...

...

...

...

>billion dollar movie
>in the fucking 30's

Tintin would have literally ruled the world.

...

...

>well fuck you too i guess

...

...

>My poor Snowy!
>nah jk drag these two guys in a cart for me

I forget how much of a dick to Snowy that Herge was at times.

...

...

...

Scathing social critique of the Chicago police.

I thought he threw a loaf of bread at him..

Also is that fucking Rastapopoulos in the bottom left panel?

...

And Finished!

Thanks.

It was a fun read, thanks, user.

Probably not originally, many earlier books were touched up at various points. Most of the books before Golden Claws are different to the originals.

true, here for exemple one original page for this.

And once he left, everything went back to normal.
Especially since he forgot to take down Al Capone.

>ticker-tape parade in Chicago
>"welp, guess it's time to go back to Europe"
>steps right onto steamship

Thsnks for the memories op.
I used to read tintin in Spanish, before i found then in English.
