One of the things I hated the most about the Last Jedi was how dumbed down the movie was. I don't remember the exact part but there were 2-3 points in the movie when they would have 2 characters say the exact same thing with different phrasing just to make sure the audience gets it.

The cute asian girl from the bomber survives
Leia shows minor force powers that save her from the bridge blast and she is KO'd for the rest of the movie (Luke's force spirit visits her at the end).
Luke/Rey thing happens mostly the same but is condensed into a much shorter interaction.
Rey/Kylo/Snoke is mostly the same but Snoke reveals more about who he is before he is defeated.
Holdo is not some resistance general but a member of the New Republic that "takes over" the resistance on behalf of the Republic in order to create a proper army to fight the First Order. This causes tension with the resistance people who are mad the Republic didn't fight the order properly.
In the end she sacrifices herself by ramming the Raddus into Snoke's ship with regular propulsion, rather than the hyperspace jump.
Her sacrifice makes the resistance members and the new republic army bond into one fighting force that will develop in the next movie.
Final Krait fight is more elaborate and happens at the same time Holdo's ship does its thing in orbit so the action takes place on two fronts.
Also the fighting doesn't "stop" so Luke and Kylo can have their thing. They fight in the crystal caves underneath Krait so it's a nice set piece.
Rey's parents are still left unclear and she realizes over the course of the movie (contemplating Snoke's words) that the Force "created" her to match the dark side. She realizes it's her duty to stop Kylo and decides to prepare for it more.
The "find the hacker" subplot is axed.
The First Order fleet keeps jumping right up to the resistance fleet over and over but with longer pauses which makes the resistance make a "stop" at some shady nar shadaa type location in order to get info on what's going on. There Poe and Finn and the qt asian girl go on a quick side mission to contact a local information broker.
When the First Order fleet catches up with them they fight Phasma there.
My ending is not very Disneyesque however...

>Poe is still extremely angry towards him, until Ben reveals his extreme guilt over the use of Star Killer base and the nightmares he has
>Reveals that when he wakes up from those nightmares he can't stop seeing Rey
>Poe feels more sympathetic towards him and introduces himself on new terms, with Ben introducing his new self
>More time passes, Finn + Rose say goodbye to Poe, and plan on heading off to a distant planet far away from the conflict
>Poe plans on staying the Republic, however, he has stepped down from his commander position
>Finally, Ben meditates quietly in the medical bay, and encounters Rey's ghost
>They finally admit their feelings for one another (the feels) and kiss
>Ben doesn't know how he can move on without Rey

After that it gets fuzzy. Time passes. Blah blah blah.

So yup that's my Episode IX. Full autism engaged. It would set up the Sith again, rebuilding of Jedi, breaks rule of two, Reylo feels, epic battles, closes most story arcs, more adult themes, less quips, etc.
