Star Wars fanboyism aside, can we acknowledge that this is just a garbage film? It has nothing to do with neckbeards or Sup Forums. This movie is utter shit and that's all there is to it. There were so many moments where I felt like I was watching a TV show. There were moments where it felt like I was watching the fucking Room. This is the worst movie since Attack of the Clones. In the years to come, it's going to generate more memes and ridicule than TDKR

shut the fuck up Nazi

fuck off Sup Forums

Yes it is, just like rogue one

Rogue one is good.

The Last Jedi is just meh.

actually i like how they kill nostagia (like Mummy 2017 did, for example) but SW got more problems
>hyperspeed ramming as new most effective method
>poe Marvel-tier "joke"
>superman Leia
>casino subplot
>"brilliant" plan of pink haired admiral
>chewie give nothing to do, usually he had small but strong moments
>no enough aliens, almost all the time we see human... in a fucking galaxy - OT had tattooine bar, jabba and shits, prequels had diverse aliens too, but here? nothing, just human and very few aliens
these are my main complains, none of them is related to SJW, so thats not the case
it's just bad shit

Friendly reminder that everyone who hates TLJ is a fanboy manchild

TFA is released
>it's too similar!!!

TLJ is released
>it's too different!!!!

>Uuuuugh that part was SO BAD!!! They wasted so much time on a stupid comedy scene where the Falcon is in some dumb worm's mouth! It doesn't effect the plot at all, it's unrealistic that there's air and bat-monsters in a stomach and we never even find out the worm's backstory!"
>This guy Lando shows up in the third act who we never even heard of before and Han acts like he's all important - WTF!? They were supposed to tell us about that Jabba guy!"
>Obi-Wan said The Force and Jedi were all about Knights and Arthurian-type stuff, but now the Stupid Puppet has Luke doing all kinds of Asian Buddha meditation shit - goddamn SJWs!!"
>Luke goes into a magic tree and fights Vader but it's like a dream? BULLSHIT! There were no dreams or visions in the first one - Kasdan has no respect for the established aesthetic!"

It felt like I was watching Age of Ultron

TLJ suffers for a lot of reasons, but one of the most glaring that comes to mind is that a lot of the plots/scenes seem pointless. The codebreaker, the battering ram assault, Poe's coup, etc. Not to mention it basically ditches a lot of the setup from Force Awakens. I don't really care about Star Wars, so I can't really get upset over it, just can't bring myself to see the next one really

I'm just shocked at how much of the movie felt pointless. Not pointless to the characters; I mean pointless to the viewer. The Kylo stuff was the only time I felt even a spark of entertainment

That honestly makes it sound a lot more interesting than it really is.

Age of Ultron gets far too much shit and is arguably a better made film than TLJ

>tlj
>different
Let me guess, a young human force user fight a black knight with a red sword and his army of facist soldiers wearing white armors led by a deformed, old space wizard from the "dark side"?

Did they destroyed a giant space weapon?

Yeah so fucking original

Prantom Menace >> the last jedi

0/10

>Autist is so proud of his pasta that he has to spam it in every fucking thread like it's the Bible

Yep, it's shit. And for no single reason in particular. So many creative decisions that make you go, "What were they thinking?" That's why these threads can go on and on. Every time you turn the movie over in your mind, you find a new shit stain to point and laugh at.

I know the only reason R2D2, C3PO, and Chewy are still around is for the sake of branding/recognition, but they really need to give these fuckers something to do. In a perfect world, they'd be gone, because they have nothing left to add to the story

Yeah, if it were a non-Star Wars film it probably would have done mediocre at best or bombed in a worst case scenario. It's actually worse than Clones to me, at least I liked some of the characters in Clones, none of these fucks please me when they're on the screen. Rey is still a mouthbreathing Sue, Kylo is still OW the edge, Leia is superman, Holdo is fucking worthless, the plot forces Poe to be the bad guy, Finn is fucking worthless, Supreme Leader Soy is fucking worthless and dead now, Hux is now in full caricature mode, it's just shit. The plot is a contrivance, the characters behave like retards, all it does is shit on the characters and stories of the original by making them pointless and ineffectual.

Fuck this movie and the hack shitbags who shat it out.

I thought it was bad but I've only seen it once so far.

m

idgaf about the canon; it was just a horrible film

The script was awful. Almost every scene felt ugly and disjointed. Plus, the acting was very poor in places. Rey ruined every scene she was in. Luke looked confused for the entire film. Kylo struggled. With these things together, it was unpleasant. In fairness, Poe and Snoke were fine, but I cannot understand how the Rey/Luke scenes were not reshot ... after some acting lessons.

The casino subplot and the guy with the speech impediment was all utterly pointless.

The film dragged, but nothing really happened. 2.5 hours and the next film could open with the rebels being chased by the fleet (again) and all that would have changed is that Snoke is dead.

>muh subversion of expectations
I expected a well-made film with some surprises. I got a mess.

But my biggest gripe is that everything interesting, every worthwhile story element, is rejected. Snoke is never developed. Kylo's potential is completely wasted. Luke fucks around for a bit but is never explored. Phasma serves no purpose despite having potential. Everything makes way for Rey (who adds nothing to this film) and the rebel leadership. No one has any idea what to do with Finn.

Despite TFA being very formulaic, it opened the door for an interesting development. The whole Snoke/Ren/Rey/Luke quartet and their struggles with the force could have been so much more. Phasma, Poe, Finn, Hux all have stories to tell. But the director is desperately intent on snuffing the light out of the trilogy.
