THE SWORD THE SWORD THE SWORD THE SWORD THE SWORD THE SWORD THE SWORD THE SWORD THE SWORD THE SWORD THE SWORD THE SWORD

Well if the sword is as powerful as the man who wields it, then Jack is only half as powerful without the sword.

Except that's bullshit and the first four seasons had multiple references to how Jack would be fucked without the magic sword. And you'd also just know that were the case if you applied basic logic to the fact three gods went out of their way making the sword in the first place. If it weren't important, they probably wouldn't be wasting their time doing that. Just because it was forged with the power of the human spirit doesn't mean Jack's dad or Jack can start harming Aku with their bare hands by wanting it badly enough or something.

Your acting like these are mutually exclusive. A weapon is only as good as it's wielder, but let's be honest, just becuase Jack's that good doesn't mean he can wrestle Aku into submission. Unless of course, the gods just say fuck it and make him a magic spirit.

That was the point . Jack forgot about this, and that's why he lost it. You fucking ding dong

>THE SWORD IS THE ONE WHO LEFT YOU DUDE YOUR NOT ALLOWED TO FEEL LIKE SHIT IN A SHITTY SITUATION IT'S LIKE BAD MOJO DUDE
It's one thing to feel bad in a shifty situation. It's another thing to give up. Jack had given up (understandable given it was the last portal) but instead of dusting himself off to try again, he just stayed that way. That was what the whole Blue Jack thing was about: his internal mental state that led to him losing the sword in the first place.

Finding the sword was less about getting a piece of metal back and more about Jack becoming himself again instead of staying as Mad Max.

seems like he lost cause he got upset about killing some goats

The sword gave him like less than five minutes to stop feeling bad about the portal, immediately after which he was attacked.
If the sword had, say, stayed with him for a few days and he had been mad continiously during all that time it would've been diferent, but like everything after the third ep it happened in too little time and with little to no setup for it.

The sword is the only weapon against aku. Nothing else on earth can hurt him.
And besides that the quest to find the sword was a clear metaphor for finding his balance and preparing himself for the final battle with Aku. You can see this in him being returned freshly to his old state.
If anything him being made whole and balanced again was too blatantly stated and negated his suffering up till that point. You don't just instantly become happy and smiley again after the shit jack has gone through.

>The sword is only as powerful as the man who wields it

That's the point. Jack lost his way, and thus lost the sword. He was only able to find the sword by finding himself again.

OP is a retard.

It's moses kicking a stone in the desert, man. One break of the rule and you're fucked permanently.

And the fact that he couldn't stop Aku from destroying the future. His mission was always fucked, instead of undoing the future and dicking around looking for some time portals, how many lives could he have saved by going against Aku in earnest? The Scotsman, the army, all those villages and lives lost could have been averted if Jack gave up on trying to rewrite history and took care of Aku once and for all and tried to fix the Earth from there.

Jack worked out fine without the sword, the problem is that the sword is the only thing that can actually kill Aku so without it, it would be pointless for Jack to fight him.

>Original series
This notion applies to basically everyone but Aku, it is your skills that will keep you alive through your adventures, not the sword.
>New series
It's time to kill Aku, so go find the sword, which is the only tool capable of doing it

>sword only as strong as the man who uses it
>regular swords don't get stronger depending on the user
>BUT WHY DO HE NEED DAH MAGIC SWORD IF HE GOOD WHY HE NO MAKE OTHER SWORD DAT GOOD!>!>!?!?

>The sword gave him like less than five minutes to stop feeling bad about the portal, immediately after which he was attacked.
Why didn't he go back for it when it fell, instead of waiting about fifty years? Because he had internally given up. If he waited a few days on the mountain, got up, dusted himself off, and gone after it with renewed vigor, it probably would have been down there in the pit waiting for him. Instead, he just left, because he assumed all hope was lost.

Bullshit.

Jack still had resolve. He still could fight. He didn't lose his way until he was about to kill himself

He TRIED going after Aku.

On the episode with the Mobsters he goes after him and almost kill him. After that episode they explicitly say that Aku started teleporting his castle from place to place, to AVOID JACK.

Every time that he had the opportunity, he tried to kill Aku in the future.

It had always been about the sword, you fucking retard.

I know this is b8, but:

>protip: That "muh magic sword" is the only thing capable of killing Aku. We clearly know for a fact entire armies cannot take him down

>he expected good writing from Samurai Jack
Kek

The sword was a cunt

this

I can't see it as being 50 years since he lost the sword. It had to have been a couple of decades since he gave up. Also Aku is a dick because he already knows about most of these portals but waits for Jack to get there before he blows it up. I think Aku was just trying to wear him down hoping he would kill himself.

Also Jack probably needed someone to tell him to his face to get his shit together and finish his quest. Everybody he saved didn't actively seek him out until now (with the Scotsman looking for him and gathering that army).

mega where?

If you gave the magic sword to some schlub, he won;t beat Aku.

It's been 50 years. The reason he did not age is because Aku pulling him mid-portal jump. Opening said it's been 50 years, yet he did not age. Logically, it's been 50 years after he lost his sword, and got his aging stopped.

Dubs of FPBP.

That was only compounded by the fact that the last time portal was destroyed right before his eyes after he had jumped through, only to have Aku pull him back.

All of his hopes and dreams died at that very moment. The death of the cute little goats was just icing on the cake.

He lost his will that day. His spirit died, and he was being controlled by rage, depression, angst, and so many other things.

>The reason he did not age is because Aku pulling him mid-portal jump
Uh.
I'm pretty sure Genndy just outright said it was a side effect of general time travel. Not any specific instance of time fuckery

Obviously he lost the sword because he killed the three inocent creatures in a fit of rage.

>>Original series
>The sword is only as powerful as the man who wields it
so sword is not magical?

Not bullshit.

Jack still had the will to survive but he had abandoned his mission, deeming it hopeless. He was also on the fence about whether or not he should still bother to save people at all, as evidenced by the fact that he ignored the village being destroyed until his guilt kicked him into action too late.

It's not like he was still intending on fighting Aku without the sword.

How much do you wanna bet that Aku knew he lost the sword all along?

>oh I knew you lost it
>it would just be boring if I attacked you without it just like just guy with the gun leg

>Jack acting like someone who lost something they took for granted for 50 years so your criticism is pointless anyway
>but also mfw after making such a big deal about the sword this season, something happens to it during the final battle but Jack still wins because samurai magic

Actually it was because he gave in to his anger AFTER killing the innocent goats.

In the original run, Jack got mad, upset, or otherwise pissed off, but this was the first time where he lost all hope and gave in to hopelessness and rage; which the whole sequence with the mom signified.

this is wrong, as he should be the same no matterr the sword. the magic of the sword was only necessary to hut Aku but against all his army it didn't have any advantage outside of being a really good sword in a land of rusty ruins

>your arch-nemesis loses the only weapon on earth that can harm/kill you
>"ugh im so miserable let me sulk in profound sadness until he keels over"
That literally makes no sense, even for Aku.

You both act like the sword is sentient, it's probably enchanted like Thor's hammer; when you are no longer worthy of it, it no longer lets you wield it. The sword just fucks off, while mjolnir just sits there sulking. Or in the case of Aku it just does no harm since it couldn't get away.

Jack could win easily before without killing, without the sword he had to kill almost every opponent he crossed. His anger and rage kept him alive but it also crippled his spirit and made him unworthy. There were still remnants of good in him though which is why he saved Ashi

>Jack still had resolve.
He literally tells Ashi "there is no hope, Aku cannot be stopped"

Honestly, if the last episode of Season 5 ended up being WWE, I wouldn't complain too much

Aku took pleasure in tormenting Jack and keeping him from completing his mission. Now that Jack has given up on his mission and lost the means to even attempt it, Aku has fallen into a slump because he's fucking won. And it's boring.

Not saying that's how it is, but that's how it would make sense.

Samuteddit Jackoff is shot
always was, always will be

>Rasslor descends from the heavens for the assist.

Aku got bored of Winning

you failed to catch the joke my friend;

If the power of the sword is always equal to the power of it's wielder, then jack is twice as powerful with it, see?

and swordless jack is only half as powerful as normal jack.

the sword was literally forged from human hope.
as jack lost hope, he began to lose power

If the first episode, the emperor also says he was helpless until he got the sword.

He does need the sword. It's the only thing that can defeat Aku.

He mentioned that he was never able to find the sword, suggesting that he had gone down the pit looking for it before. Jack just went down there again to confirm it was still gone.

>Goddammit son! It shouldn't be this complicated! You know what? Fuck it. Give me the sword. I'll do it.

the sword can hurt aku but it does no good if the wielder themselves is shit.

And he was doing just right agains Aku's forces without it
Also, the joke

Read it again. Realize how bad Jack was broken before. Realize how far he would have dropped. Hell, he was having hallucinations about his dead family yelling at him.
