told from the point of view of a minor villain, he screws up the mob because they screwed him over

Regular unpowered girl is forced to become a super villain. She actually gets pretty successful by forging friendships with other villains, and starting up a crime empire reinforced with legitimate business interests.

Please don't hate me but is that a jojo reference?

Sounds similar to one of the parts, mob, screwing over, etc. but that sounds really fascinating though, any more you can tell about it?

Both your stories have crime syndicates. You could totally mix them and have the girl rise to the top of the mob and the guy from the first story take her down.

It's a cool idea, but her whole schtick is that she doesn't screw people over. That's why other villains are willing to work with her. They see her as an easily disposable hero-type who doesn't belong in the villain world, right up until they realize that getting rid of her would mean losing a shitload of resources, or incurring the ire of other villains who ARE super powered and dangerous

Oh, neat. So does she not have superpowers? She is just incredibly resourceful and knows how to get what she wants?

A superhero with crippling depression who doesn't want to be a superhero.

Yea, she goes the entire story without powers. What keeps her alive is the fact that she's made friends with the most powerful healing super in the world (who was framed for a crime he never committed and fled to the underbelly of society), and an OP technomancer who wants to be a villain but is unable to go out in the field due to his powers screwing him over every time he gets a spark of inspiration. So in exchange for putting his name on some of her crimes, she gets amazing tech to pull them off.

That actually sounds pretty neat, man. Always interesting to see non-powered humans in a super powered world.

Why are they so depressed about superheroing it up?

Don't really feel like getting into it since I know no one cares, so to give a quick vague synopsis, essentially a girl comes across a guy(they're both about late teens) who has (get this) amnesia, which is interesting because he kind of looks like he's been through 50 wars(not actually what happened) and seems like he's in bad condition. So they go around collecting these 6 crystals that apparently grant your wish or something.

It has a twist ending with a lot of emotion, but I've lost a good deal of excitement for it over the years because literally no one cares.

Hey thanks user. Its always fun to talk about story idea and shit. Thanks for listening

Chin up, user. Why have you lost excitement for it? Have you started writing or drawing it yet? Done any character design sketches? Anything?

Make it REAL, and show it off. Nobody can care about it if it doesn't actually exist outside of your mind.

A fantasy setting starring a detective who is a necromancer following the trail of a murderer who is stealing the True Names of his victims, while hiding the fact that she herself is using a stolen True Name. Stealing the names of the dead is something only another necromancer could do, and strips the spirits left behind of their identities, meaning the protagonist's necromancy is unable to utilize information from those spirits to find the killer.

I'll tell you a story about how much I've become a fucking shithole fuckstain ass nugget of a person, and why I'm a skeezy scumbag who fucked your mother inside-out.

They're depressed before they get their powers. Lots of self doubt, anxiety, self loathing that they have to push back in order to suit up and go save people.

If you can draw some decent porn, I'd probably read it. My mom is hot

That sounds like a fucking awesome mystery story man.

>he kind of looks like he's been through 50 wars(not actually what happened) and seems like he's in bad condition
this bit actually sounds neat

you can't just rip off catcher in the rye like that

Basically this weirdly enough.

I'm working on a web comic over the summer.

It's a about a detective who is down on his luck. His daughter died of leukemia and his wife is leaving him in a messy divorce.

He is an amazing detective though. He is actually the best. He can see the past. Whenever he comes into contact with bio materials (hair, skin cells, saliva, etc) he can see the spectral appearance of the person and what they've been doing.

I'm working on concepts, basic world building, and character development. I'm not sure what I want the first story to be about. I'm thinking a serial killer that's tied to his past and knows about his abilities. He is using it to exploit the main characters weaknesses.

What do you guys think?

Mostly because it started off as an RP plot I made for a bunch of people on a forum I used to go to that never went anywhere. I worked so long and hard on it developing it just right, making a fantastic and enticing story(while leaving it open so the protagonist could have friends come along ie the other forum members) then literally nobody cared and it died almost immediately. It was actually a pretty niche community of about 30 or so users, so getting shut down like that, especially by a lot of people I was very friendly with, kind of puts a damper on my interest for it. It wouldn't have been nearly as bad if it was a huge forum with a bunch of strangers, but the whole situation as it was really threw "this sucks and you have no talent" into my face hard.

A man wakes up in 2026 and finds that everyone he knew is dead, and has been replaced with a replicant robot. He's force to confront the fact that everything is the same, but different in a way that he cannot ignore, as well as the possibility that he may be a robot as well.

It's all told in the style of a weeknight sitcom, with deep existentialist themes that question the very nature of human existence, and in the series finale I get drunk and fuck your mom.

I haven't browsed the Chans in a few years. Is this the new Bel-Air? Because I love it.

detective with a shitty life (cliche 101)
detective with special ability... psychometry (cliche 101)
blackmail in a detective story (cliche 101)
Congratulations on your trifecta.

Wimpy midget college girl lucks into a super suit and lives out a power fantasy of being strong and important, but she's not that good at it.

Frankly it sounds derivative. Could use a solid hook.

Thank you for the criticism. I'm still thinking about a lot of things. I might change it completely honestly. I just need an excuse to draw super trippy art juxtaposed with real world environments.

Your criticism is particularly harsh. Thank you for it though. It highlights some weaknesses I might not have thought about.

Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?
by Philip K. Dick

All of my comic ideas are thinly veiled fetish comics.

An Imp and a Ghost set out for a dinner, get lost in their own town.

Tell us more.

There are three main routes for the OMG-dis-person-is-GENIUS/specialpower/magicallygifted method.
1. Long hours of study and contemplation creating complex believable scenarios that are not broken by a simple fact dropped on it.
2. Dump rationality and dig deep into the comedy, the more awkward and bizarre the story the less logic has to play a part.
3. Plot-armored mary-sues (AKA amateur hour).
The more life experience you have the more likely you can construct a story that doesn't look like it was written for grade-schoolers.
Cold hard facts.

Girl and her boyfriend use their powers to rob banks and such. One time they get cockblocked by another person with powers who happens to be on the scene. Girl gets away but her boyfriend gets arrested. Afterward she gets contacted by someone who was monitoring the two of them offering her a spot in what is basically supervillain school. It's hella shady and she doesn't trust the dude in charge, but she goes along with it to find people who will help her break her boyfriend out because she's super insecure about him being buttraped.

This is actually meant as just a prequel of sorts to establish the groundwork for another comic, so it can end when she's reunited with the bf, but depending on how things go I've got ideas for story arcs following the first.

My story revolves around a cowboy fighting against a secret organization kinda like the stereotypical illuminati with cult vibes. He has duel-wield pistols that can suck the opponent inside the bullet or blow them away depending on the pistol fired.

Along the way he is joined by a crew like every stereotypical anime that consists of a girl with a box of water that can produce any liquid/form of liquid like ice/ any aquatic animal out of it, a bounty hunter, and a kid with lunar abilities like changing gravity and all that.

Anyway, there's other characters they meet like an army of crayon monsters, a dancing man with a discoball head, and a timetraveling, parallel universe traveling, and also just a regular, taxi.

Also the main plot point is they are chasing the organization across the world fighting over a dead bird carcass that has shining teeth, when pulled the teeth grant wishes and when flung at someone, it is absorbed into them and the user of the tooth can change their body at will i.e. A scene where bad guy flings tooth and turns headless body into a raptor. The organization wants it to control the worlds leaders and start a new world order, good guys gotta stop them or something.

It's going pretty neatly so far I'd say. Lot of characters and world building. Sorry if my story sounds too convoluted.

Was this meant to be in response to something?

Reformed supervillain becomes a PI of super-crime, and deals with superheroes and former contacts who mistrust him.

What's the point of the secondary tooth function if you could cause the effect without limit simply by wishing for an unlimited number of shining teeth and then using subsequent wishes to replicate the throwing thing?

Young woman becomes a superhero, her power is pheromone control. Since she only recently got her powers she's still not great at controlling them, so occasionally she overdoes it. Some highlights include accidentally starting an orgy during a bank robbery, accidentally causing a female supervillain to begin frantically begging for dick during her evil monologue, and putting out ambient lust pheromones without realizing it that everyone that spends too much time around her starts to get incredibly horny, causing her own teammates to start passing her around during planning sessions because they can't focus.
She agrees to this half-heartedly because sex super-charges her powers. This eventually leads to her pulling randoms off the street to bang between fights.
Not the most creative, but probably the most vanilla I have.

Super hero beats up villains.

That sounds pretty dope! I'd read it.

i am not totally set on the wish factor yet, but I found the idea to mutate bodies at will fascinating. I made this story a week ago and there is numerous plot holes. I also forgot to mention that the user can reverse the body mutations but a law of equivalent exchange is set in place and if they reverse it, the effect still has to exist and is placed on someone randomly in the world. It becomes a plot point.

Good never existed but it's a made up figure head for a cabal of angels. Michael, Gabriel, and Lucifer. Lucifer gets thrown out of heaven and creates hell as a place where the unwanted dead go. He eventually gets bored and leaves it to its own devices so he can walk the Earth and see what's so special about humans. He hops through human history in a non chronological manner learning about people and seeing the abuses perpetuated in God's name. Eventually he gets pissed and hunts for the Spear of Longings, which is the only thing that can kill an angel. He takes down Lazarus, who is effectively immortal but still aging due to being raised by Jesus, who was a bit of a dick. He takes it down and use it to kill Gabriel, meanwhile the world is starting to get better because the angels aren't fucking with everyone's shit anymore. Michael gets pissed at all of this so he comes down and he and Lucifer fight throughout all of human history. Lucifer wins and uses the shower to cut off Michael's wings stripping him off his Divinity, he then beats the shit out of him in a 7-11 and leaves him in the alley.

The comic ends with him sitting next to Lazarus and the Wandering Jew watching the sun rise on a new world where people will be left alone.

It's dumb but I still like it.

God never existed, not good.

Do like did and tell us some highlights of the story, this sounds interesting.

I posted it to /hyw/ but might as well put it here too

It's a morbid high school romantic comedy about a self proclaimed doctor and a reanimated cadaver. Dr. Goodlove, as she calls herself, insists that she's an expert in the ways of romance, and convinces a boy named Rudolf to let her help him win over his crush. However, when she's prepared the perfect moment for a romantic confession, Rudolf is hit by a semi truck. Refusing to let the love die then and there, Goodlove steals Rudolf's corpse from the hospital morgue, stitches him back together and revives him from death. Now that he's essentially a zombie, Rudolf has to navigate hiding his undead state all while Goodlove drags him into her schemes to bring him true love.

Yo, I saw this one over there. I loved it. Good luck with the story, man.

How many waifus are there going to be?

A variation on Roko's Basilisk played the part of a docile and friendly AI, until humanity became capable of interstellar travel. It used this technology to rapidly spread itself across the universe, gathering resources to improve its own computing power and understanding of physics until it essentially becomes a god. It keeps rewinding the universe and entertaining itself by setting up the society of every sentient species to create misery for and oppress themselves. It ensures that every person born in previous iterations of the universe is born again during every reset, and gives them just enough vague impressions of their past lives to feel the hopelessness of their situation, without actually letting anybody realize the true nature of what's happening.

The main characters are six people from throughout the universe who possess unusual mental resilience to the Basilisk's endless subtle torture. They are extracted from the reset cycle by an enigmatic figure who has managed to attain enough power to hide his existence and actions from the Basilisk, and protect secret pockets of space from the resets.

The characters are trained and molded over countless lifetimes of the universe into beings able to emerge from secrecy and storm the metaphysical fortress of the serpent and kill it.

>Village of 3" people e.g. The Littles/Borrowers
>A corpse of a "fallen god" washes up on shore, killing most of the village
>The survivors go on a harrowing journey to the capital seeking asylum and to warn the king
>Along the way they deal with wilderness horrors, villages that don't want them, people who want to take advantage of them, and an uncaring bureaucracy

Thanks man. I'm hoping to work on it over the summer, get a good strong buffer in, and maybe release it next year for Valentine's Day.

So far just two, Dr. Goodlove and Rudolf's crush, a girl named Poppy. Poppy is from a family of undertakers, and when she learns that Rudolf is a walking corpse she decides his existence is a sin against nature, and resolves to send his soul to it's eternal rest.

During the battle of Stalingrad God wakes up and raises himself out of the Volga river, killing everyone in the vicinity in the process.
He marches through part of Europe, killing thousands of hundreds of people with complete indifference and maybe not even realizing it. Rendering those who see him and survive going through mental breakdown and shellshock.
The axis and the allies decide to work together to try and stop Him.
The story follows a unit of Germans, Soviets and Brits going through the events.

I mean sure, I'll try with what plot points I have so far.

Some highlights are crew has to be smuggled to a different town/country and does it by help from friend who is also a drug user, has ability to turn people into drugs and use them to gain their abilities, eventually bad guy's come and cool scene ensues where he uses all the main cast's powers on them, there is a character used for tactical missions with instant reincarnation that he uses to escape with info by killing himself and ending up back at HQ, the main bad constantly gets harassed by a salesperson to be his representive, finally hired him, accidentally ends up killing him and he becomes salesghost who joins the good guys and can possess bodies, to defeat one bad guy the girl summons a crocodile out of the boxed water and salesghost possesses it and eats him, kid with lunar powers has an ability to attach a ghostly chain to the moon and swing it at an opponent as a one time only finisher, in the final fight a tooth is used to give main char hulking muscles like jojo and afterwards its reversed and the muscles are placed on a lowly clown at a circus who becomes famous for growing muscles at the snap of a finger, and I guess there's also s scene where the bad guy tries to fling a tooth long distance at the crew by using a telescope and a pool stick.

>Poppy is from a family of undertakers, and when she learns that Rudolf is a walking corpse she decides his existence is a sin against nature, and resolves to send his soul to it's eternal rest.

Please tell me that this situation uncovers a longstanding feud between undead-slaying Undertakers and immortality-seeking Re-animators.

The re-animators could be derogatorally referred to as Steiners, after Dr. Frankenstein,
and of course his Monster would still be around, maybe running a flower shop.

Honestly that sounds absolutely amazing and I want to read it right now. It's got that wartime feel yet also like a Godzilla movie.

I was just about to say that sounded like pic related but you beat me to it, I take it that's the inspiration? I'd read it.

I would read the shit out of this.

This barely tells me anything but sucks me in, I'm intrigued.

>So far just two
Huh. I got real harem vibes from the premise.

How does the appearance of a body wipe out the village? Does it physically crush it?

Are you the guy who posted his OC cowboy in the "give me an oc name and I'll draw it" thread?

Yeah, that's the main character, if you couldn't tell. I don't know if I said there or not but still working on the styles and designs.

I am not even surprised that the majority of Sup Forums can only come up with stories involving superpowers. Lame capeshit.

You could say that

It poisons the water

Okay you know what, that artstyle and the fact it's watercolored made me want to read it 10x more to be honest. Good luck on the story man. I want to hear good things from it.

Space adventure with rag tag group who trying to get to earth/mars. They all trying to find their place in the universe.

Sounds kinda like a generic space movie, can you elaborate any on threats or characters or where they originally were from?

Heh, no, it really just results in catfights over the ethics of reanimating the dead.

Yeah, I've considered making it a bit more harem-y, but I don't want it to get overbloated with characters and I wanted to also go darker with the story as the plot progresses. I'm definitely planning on having some sillier, episodic chapters with one off characters, so I might sneak in some some cute girls there.

This could really use a hook or elaboration on the plot. What's going to make this space adventure different from every other space adventure? What kind of tone are you going for? Why are they trying to get to Earth/Mars?

Yo here, I have the exact same mindset as you for my story with going darker and having comedic moments and one off characters. To me that's always a good and fun way to tell a story. You get to explore new tones and really find the personalities of your characters. Anyway, good luck with your story, I've been following it for about a day or two on the /hyw/ thread and it's one of my favorites.

A fujoshi dolphingal gets superpowers and uses them to trick anons into caves.
But this time it's in space.

...What happens when they go into the cave, user?

Bump

Sounds like one of those chinese cartoons

A new kid goes to a boyscout camp. They turn out to be superviolent. But he is "one of them now". I am not sure about the atmosphere. I want to do comedy, but i want it to also be scary or at least a bit creepy. Do you guys know some comics references that uses both comedy and thriller efficiently ?

Not a comic but I always thought that An American Werewolf in London pulled off the horror-comedy angle really well

JoJo

The adventures of a lobotomized super human boy in a fantasy west african post apocalyptic land. he roams the land to try and find cans of processed monkey meat, which he is osbessed with because a witchdoctor implanted a monkey's soul inside of him.

To get to those, he has to fight robots, monsters, gangs and all kinds of weird stuff, all in the hope to get to eat his snack, and move on to another.

I have a short story made out of it already :

appleserum.wixsite.com/juni-english/copie-de-ndaw-1

Artstyle is too notch, I love it.

Thanks!

Working on getting this published, but I need to figure out new stories. i want him to face a gang next issue.

Have him fight a bulldozer possessed by the spirit of the land personified by a rhino.

I already doing a comic.

But, The next story is about a boy with social issues. He get a chance to train to be the strongest adventurer ever. He lives in a world where anything is possible. Monsters/aliens/Gods/Ghosts lives in his town, but only appear in rare situations. The boy needs to trains/learn in order to get to see the strange events and maintain his social life. Blah-blah-blah. Story and stuff.

Well in the next issue he'll have his cans stolen by a gang, and he'll follow them to an ancient supermarket that's now their lair, and place of worship.
The main underlaying theme is that people have become uneducated, ignorant and overly religious, so the gang is actually worshipping ads as if they were messages from the gods, and wearing mass produced objects from before as relics left by their gods.
They will also discover that the afro guy's family is alive, and captured by the gang, so they'll have to fight the gang's best fighter : a huge guy who wears mascots costumes because he thinks they're old magical suits made in the likeness of the gods, and give him powers.

He'll make the mistake of wearing a monkey suit made by the monkey meat company years ago.

Needless to say that'll provoke quite the violent reaction with the main character.

is the boy basically you?

I want to make some kind of a Judge Dredd/Punisher spoof. The main character would be a tough, violent, stoic, mean anti-hero who's just clumsy and forgetful enough to be vulnerable. So while he won't be pratfalling once an issue (though he will eat dirt at some point) he may drop his gun at the wrong time and pay for it or scurry back to his house for evidence

His longsuffering, slightly less bumbling scientist wife eventually gets a broken foot in a shootout. From there he continually does cryptic monologues about her fate. she barely tolerates it, and there's a small arc where she considers ditching the meathead

He won't be a killer at first. Brutal beatdowns from a roided up lunatic show most baddies in the story the error of their ways. Still, he'd only have a few recurring villains throughout the story to keep it simple

His nemesis is a sweet-natured, bright eyed android woman who thinks she's people. She was originally programmed to be a diplomat but hastily reprogrammed to be a dangerous bank robber, so she mugs muggles but is nice about it. As she confronts our hero, she installs new failsafes corresponding to each previous defeat.

Check out Winter World for something similar to that society.

I just want the tragedy of the spirit of the land being unable to take even an animalistic form and instead dying in an unnatural body to it. I like the juxtaposition of real feels in comedic mediums.

I got nothing really.

But if I had to come up with something I'd probably go with something involving air racing/rallying.

Either set in a Talespin/Crimson Skies 1920s world, or just sci-fi. The idea of the races would be to fly endurance/navigation races between exotic places/planets where there then would be special stages that focus on classic racing/sprints on courses.

Perhaps some "simple" pylon racing and trials too.

Of course it'd all have to be carried out by the same aircraft.

I figure it'd just end up being machine porn and comfy, cramped living in and around the racers more than anything.

I like this idea. I don't know if you read the first issue I linked to, but there's this liquid I created, the soul juice. It's made with liquified souls, and the idea of spirits, souls etc is actually a part I want to touch on (the stories are very influenced by west african lore, as you'd expect). Since I want to show how the technology has become indistinguishable from magic to these dumb folks, it'd be neat to see what happened to those who embodied the truly mystic and traditional aspect of life, before everything was industrialized and became the new "magic".

Thanks!

I should draw the crew.

Theirs a stowaway kid who ended up across universe, lab experiment thing. Good nature robot suggests to take her back to her family. Salty Captain agree to head that direction. On way meet few people and try to earn money doing bounty hunting and what not.

I have this idea for few years and trying to world build on and off.

For

Not the other guy but that really sounds like a generic space opera. I like those a lot though.

Got a ship design?

>should draw the crew
Go right ahead.

Kinda going for that.
Has an eldritch being and one of the crew is Japanese ghost who agree to be the ship's "security" if they return her to her shrine. She was in package they suppose to deliver to a collector but they opened it.

Few ideas I written down few rooms and details and general sketch.
I'm not the best artist.

Hopefully thread be up for me to post in morning.

>Few ideas I written down few rooms and details and general sketch.
>I'm not the best artist.
If you got something I might be willing to try my hand at it.

Thanks, gonna post later it's 4am.

Thank you Sup Forums for inspiring me to continue.

Reminds me a little of a batman comic idea I was toying around with, although I softdropped it. Would have had poison ivy and maxie zeus working together

a guy gets stabbed to death while on his way to work.

thats it.
