You people need to realize that by the time Episode IX ends and ALL the OT characters are gone or forgotten, Star Wars will still continue, this time with no attachments to the originals at all. That means no Luke, no Han, no Leia, no Vader, and no Lucas.
The second sequel trilogy (and the third and the fourth) will use Rey and Kylo as mythic figures. They will be even more subversive than TLJ, because they won't have anything to do with nostalgia anymore. That means anything goes. We will probably even get to see the first transgender jedi knight. Or the first SW sex scene.

Star Wars is probably bleeding mad money for Disney right now. Toys are making jack to nill shit money, I mean for fucks sakes Toys R Us just declared bankruptcy and a large reason for that was an absolute freefall in Star Wars The Force Awakens toy sales. The only toymaker making money of Star Wars is Lego right now and even there the hottest sets are all original trilogy/prequels stuff. TFA had few good ships/tech that could be turned into cool stuff.
TLJ is most likely going to barely break even for Disney and that's it. No toy sales whatsoever which is insane for a Star Wars movie because Lucas made majority of his money from Star Wars themed toy sales.
Anyways I think there is a very good possibility that Disney will come to a "rational decision" to sell LucasArts back to George Lucas and an investment group in late 2018, early 2019.
Now the real question is going to be who is going to be the director and writer for the new trilogy?
