Does anyone remember Super Robot Monkey Team Hyperforce Go?

...

yea

...

The main character has a Stand, got any screenshots of that?

Wait, really? What does it do?

Well it's a giant green gorilla, and it acts like a punching ghost, like Star Platinum or Crazy Diamond.

Someone redpill me on jojo

it's got extreme violence, western music references, highly meticulous fight scenes, cool power gimmicks, relatively unique art style, one of the best arch villains of all time, and it's been around forever

fukken beat me to the punch

Series about an Englishman who has to live with a blonde douchebag and is initially bullied by him.

Eventually he has to learn mystical sunlight powered karate after punching a frog to beat up a vampire version of Jack the Ripper with his best friend REO Speedwagon.

And then things get weird.

...

...

...

>And then things get weird
Boy howdy do they

It's an anthology following a lineage of extraordinary individuals that use a combination of wits, [not magic], [not psychic powers], and luck to outwit various villains with similar abilities. Music references abound. It's a fucking wild ride with a relatively new anime which I think most people would recommend.

AWAKEN, MY MASTERS!

...

Ace Venture and his stand「CUBAN PETE」

...

Was that guy actually an alien, you think?

the better question is
does it ever become relevant?

...

I got you fampai

...

Bunch of entry level babies around here.

Is this for real?

youtube.com/watch?v=_jqkswhdiGw

I like to think he was. Araki even mentioned it was "within possibility" that aliens exist.

the only reason anyone likes it is because it's super gay.
not using that as a pejorative either, all the characters are either flaming gay, or in-the-closet-overly-macho gay.
it dresses all that up with classic rock references.
if that sounds like your bag you may like it, just be prepared for everything to be really really gay.

You're so fucking wrong.

I like Jojo because not a single comics writer, be it East or West, can do the 'thoroughly fucked character finds a way out through mystery novel like logic' as good as him.

Only in my wildest dreams I could write something as convoluted yet good as the final Yoshikage Kira showdown.

Except it's super heterosexual at the same time

that's not a reference, it's a straight ripoff

>The furry cabal assassinates Mario

> jojo
> gay
The only thing remotely gay about it is the art. The central theme of the series is Family Man who creates life vs Ambiguous Bisexual Weirdo who parasites off of everyone in like 7 different ways. The main villian of every part is a parasite in some way, and every protagonist is a decedent of the first antagonist.

>Convoluted and good

user, he gets killed by an ambulance

the art isn't remotely gay, it's extremely gay
isn't there a male character who has a heart-shaped hole in his top to show off his man-cleavage? Isn't there a group of villains who wear nothing other that loin-cloths? Isn't every male character drawn like a fist of the north star yaoi porno?

not trying to say you shouldn't like it, but the gayness isn't subtext, it's way over the top.

Jojo is the gayest anime/manga i've seen. The only thing it's lacking is actual gay sex.

The pillar men were asleep for 2000 years, they get to be dressed in loincloths. Cars also had that sweet hat and jacket. Aside from that, hearts just seem to be a symbol Araki likes and he's creative with the clothes of his characters. The style could definitely be considered homoerotic.

Only a few of the villians (such as DIO) are presented with gay vibes, and that's to make them seem creepier and more inhuman. Everyone else is just pretty and there's nothing wrong with that.

It's so gay that it's straight

The artist is a sixty year old Japanese man with a wife and kids who didn't know what a fujoshit was. His influences are probably gay as fuck, but that's glam rock for ya.
The ultraviolence and the emphasis on "cool" makes me lean towards the gayness being unintentional.

Glam rock and fashion magazines. Half his covers are just him finding an ancient ass fashion art spread from the 20's and then redrawing it with muscledudes.

m.youtube.com/watch?v=bw976tnVBOM

That's not gay subtext. It's hetero men not being insecure about their masculinity. We all know it's always the tough military / gym dudes who are closeted homos.

Do people really thing these are legit references or is just a meme?

Only moment in the series that I think was actually kind of gay was the part where Ponareff and Abdul pissed down that breathing tube to beat an assassin, but I'm 805 sure that was just funny and I'm too low test for the joke. The way Araki writes characters, and with the emphasis he puts on normal camaraderie and the importance of family, it would feel really out of place for him to be putting actual gay undertones in most of it.

like it or not I'm envious of anyone western that was aware of jojo back then

It's a meme.

70% meme, 30% actual references
Honestly, the thing is JoJo has been going on for so long and has done so many things that it's easy to find similarities with other things

I mean, I'm sure some of them are on purpose (like Gumball. At least twice.)

>User able to grab a stand

Immersion broken.

I think the joke for that one was how out of character it was for Abdul, who had been a stoic before.
But yeah, Araki emphasizes camaraderie and friendship. People just read too much into it. A lot of it reminds me of an article some Sup Forumsirgin wrote for Kotaku about how uncomfortable JoJo made them feel, it was pretty funny.

...

> DIO able to just deflect the emerald splash
> with his bare fucking hands
> not his stand's hands, which are fast enough to catch bullets and which can actually interact with other stands
> his (previously Johnathan's) regular ass flesh and blood hands
Next thing you'll tell me there's a world inside the mirror

Polnareff seeing Abdul and Iggy in the clouds would be way less poignant if there were some sort of gay thing going on

Not sure if it was just something that was made up, but I heard before that this specific fight between Professor X and Shadow King is what inspired Stands for Araki.

Killing Iggy after the one time he was heroic and bro-tier fucked me up. poor little dog dude

>Jojo
>gay

I don't think to exist a series more gay than Devilman, you know.

>not using that as a pejorative either, all the characters are either flaming gay, or in-the-closet-overly-macho gay
That the joke user, people in japan think machon man are gay, because they're overcompensating for something, remember the One punch man hero who's a muscle macho gay man, thats the joke

>gumball at least twice
You can't tell me this shit is coincidental
part 4 spoilers btw
youtube.com/watch?v=_jqkswhdiGw

Araki's a bit of a westaboo so I wouldn't be surprised. Could also be Doctor Strange, as a lot of panels showed the astral projections leaving the body ala a Stand.

But user, that's good because the town is ultimately the one who gets the kill on yoshikage kira

The creator of Diesel apparently loved JoJo, but thought it was too weird to catch on in the West, so he took the Stand battle concept straight out of Part 3 and made an Americanized story, simply because he thought western audiences should see it.

Honestly, I'm glad he did it. Diesel is hilarious.

Also, He took a man's face and he dies faceless

I discovered Jojo's Bizarre Adventure when I was looking for a game for my baby brother to play on my browser and I ended up finding some crappy flash fighting game with Jojo characters in it.

Westaboo mangaka are the best, Kazuki original Yu.gi.oh manga was incredible

>Jojo is the gayest anime/manga i've seen
>Story is about the Joestar lineage

Yeah. Those JoJos sure are gay, what with all that hetero sex they're having.

>Jonathan fucks Erina
>Joseph fucks Suzie Q and Tomoko
>Jotaro fucks unknown woman

So gay.

>You can't tell me this shit is coincidental
I can't
Also dunno if I remember correctly but I think when time stops it goes black and white too

you mean [Rumba Beat]

>Devilman
>Gay
Sure thing, Satan.

>SHLLLULULUP

...

the only real reference I've found is Fredzilla from Big Hero 6: he is a young annoying man with a stupid hat whose main power is to create a Psychic Aura with the shape of a Kaiju, a Stand.

He even poses in the same way Jotaro did when he battled Avdol.

Unfortunately, they nerfed him into a pathetic man in a fursuit.

He was also an Anui, a Japanese indigenous people and now is Jewish

Holy diver

This is from Vento Aureo

They keep touching each other during the whole arc

The author did the series with a gay undertone as a joke

How about Dio and Giorno?

Or Pucci and Scarlett?

All he wanted was a quiet life and to not be kinkshamed.

The worlds angriest teenager goes to Egypt to fight an Englishman.

...

...

So did Johnny have the original stand?

I normally never watch anime but I fucking love Jojo. It's just awesome from soundtrack to concept and execution.

I am going to maim whoever did this.

I dunno, what are it's powers?
Is it a punch ghost?

Never adopt, you end up with vampires, space rock people, magic people that stand behind you that come from alien arrows, the power to recreate the universe, and a president who wants to eat jesus.

you forgot quadruple balls

It is gay, but the cool kind of gay. Like Freddie Mercury.
Or David Bowie.

Dio Brando > DIO

It's a genie
It grants wishes
I heard his adventures were pretty much Golden Age FoP cape edition

Araki definitely has some of the best linework in the world.

Gay or just European?

>something as convoluted yet good as the final Yoshikage Kira showdown
damn right. THE one of the best and epic showdown ever. Too bad kids prefer craps like Naruto or Bleach.

I don't understand why people can't just accept that the FABULOUS nature of Jojo being both awesome and also at least able to be interpreted in a slightly homoerotic fashion are not mutually exclusive concepts.

>HAHAHAHAHA THIS IS GAY YOU'RE GAY FOR LIKING IT
>N... nuh uh, shut up it's not gay

Some of the shit is campy and fabulous. Boo fucking hoo. It's still great. Just like the John Water's Simpsons episode, the director and his man servant in The Producers, the entirety of The Bird Cage, or Nathan Lane in anything. Who fucking cares as long as it's enjoyable.

I can only imagine what it must've been like following the series from the start, watching Araki's art change and improve drastically over the span of three decades.
