Stopped watching halfway through Capaldi's first season.

Is it worth picking up this show again or is it still garbage?

Series 8 was the only good one.

Feel old yet?

it was the perfect send-off to capaldi, harkening back to the 'good man' arc of s8 (esp. with rusty). every trope of the moffat era was used to its fullest - time trickery, character drama, what it means to be the doctor, etc.

capaldi, moff, talalay, gold were all on top form for their last episode and it really shows. the best regeneration story full stop

this is the best part about it, yorkshire accent is ULTIMATE pleb filter,

dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-2324099/Jenna-Louise-Coleman-reveals-doesnt-dating-far-shy.html

Why don't you take Jenna out on a date?

>MUH ACTION
>literal 5 year old criticism
How about "it's boring and shit"? Just because there's little action doesn't mean it's good.

>it treated him fine. the casual misogyny was no worse than how 1 actually acted
pic

> the smacked bottom line is even just a restatement of something he said in the dalek invasion of earth.
see

I wish he could have been as good looking on the right through his whole era. he was so oogly looking during his first season.

>harkening back to the 'good man' arc of s8

could you expand on this a little?

see also this

series 9 is goat and has the best episode of all time in it

You can't seriously mean that. It was a load of nothing with a First Doctor that acted nothing like Hartnell.

no i have to go to sleep

whovians kept saying slightly wrong things like calling the S1 doctor's theme 'rose's theme' and saying that the third take of "I don't want to go" had tennant bawling and it was triggering my autism something fierce

>refuses to expand on his points and fucks off to bed instead
Low level baiting tactics.

>the best regeneration story full stop
imagine having this shit taste

>No dating
>Just straight to the sex
noice

>like calling the S1 doctor's theme 'rose's theme'
desu I always associated it more with Rose than the Doctor in series 1. I was surprised to learn it was "the Doctor's theme"

Based Cats

I know I'm overthinking it but that regeneration speech was pointless. When you're regenerating on your own it's one thing to be sad and say "I don't want to go" but quite another to give a whole soliloquy that absolutely nobody will ever hear and your new body will barely remember.
Plus, as last words go, it was pretty uninspiring and pompous, like he was trying to mimic Smith's exit but without the emotional gravity.

>too 'shy'
She's too shy shy
Hush hush, eye to eye

>I know I'm overthinking
Then why are you overthinking

kindanon you cheeky bugger you told me they didn't show the jodie scene at the whovians screening but they totally did

>people actually think Capaldi's regeneration was even close to this:

youtube.com/watch?v=_68Vyc24i1s

and say what you want about Matt Smith...but...this:

youtube.com/watch?v=6AxCoMbiZfk&t=2s&index=31&list=PL3XVmXGhN6p7YjFvfOcwQ97JzWDPalK_9

im not even saying he's wrong, i agree i just wanted to see if there were any moments i missed that were obviously referencing the s8 arc

if anyone else could help point some out that would be greatly appreciated

I am disappointed with /who/'s opinion on the Christmas special and accordingly, the thread will now be flooded with a selection of Sneeds from my personal collection. Thank you

desu i still think matt smith on the clock tower is one of the most kino things to ever happen in the show, capaldi had the best monologue and delivery for his final lines though.

nah they actually didnt, the bit in whovians was recorded before we got there, each of the panel members got their own copy of the episode with their name plastered all over it so they could record their thoughts on the scene without having to show us mere plebs.

the whole battlefield and soldier stuff in the ending

>i agree
m8

Sneed's Feed and Seed

were you there when they recorded their thoughts, or did they just add in canned audience reactions afterwards?
That's interesting, I knew they did prerecorded bits like the satellite interviews but I didn't consider they'd prerecord those segments

This is far closer to Hartnell than anything in TUAT, despite the fact that it's a lot easier to get Hartnell-era material for reference these days.
Is it because Hurndall was better than Bradley at playing the First Doctor or because Tewwance was better than Moff at writing him?

(Formerly Chuck's)

TUAT was definitely better than TOTD, but Smith's speech was a much better departure.

With Smith it felt like the show actually had something to say about how we change, Capaldi's was quite 'generic doctor'. Might have helped if he'd had someone else to say it all too as well, I suppose it's for 13s benefit.

I liked the part where he literally talks to the kids in the audience though, now both of them have basically broken the fourth wall as they left

...

Things I liked about the episode:
>12
>13
>1 (when he wasn't being force fed sexist lines for no reason)
>Nardole
>12's speech
>Regeneration scene

Things I did not like about the episode:
>1 being fed sexist lines for no reason
>1 having no reason to be in the episode other than to have a spare TARDIS
>1 feeling like an accessory instead of part of a multi-doc episode
>The entire episode feeling like filler
>The regeneration effects looking nothing like the effects at the end of The Doctor Falls
>Clara
>Only getting two words out of Jodie instead of a brief little spiel like Tennant, Smith and Capaldi all got
>No scene of 12 saving Gallifrey before regenerating
>Nothing about the episode made it feel as emotional as Parting of the Ways, The End of Time or The Time of the Doctor (or The Day of the Doctor since it was a multi-doc)

It wasn't good and it wasn't bad. It was somewhere in the middle.

So Thirteen will be trapped on earth for her first series? Is that why she has a huge collection of companions?

Based sneedposter.

the only prerecorded segment was jodies first scene, everything else was with us in the crowd

>New time vortex
fuckin' sexy

>its a /who/ thread from 2017
>STOP DISRESPECTING MUH PRECIOUS HARTNELL starts playing

How did the sketch with the kid from the audience work? Did they scout the crowd for someone, get them to do the on-stage ring yoink and then film the scripted scene after everything else?

...

I wonder if it'll stick around or if moff came up with a new vortex just in time for chibbers to change it

wtf im watching it now, they literally got us to do fake laughs at the end of fliming and they added those into them talking about the jodie scene lmao

...

scripted scene was filmed earlier, we watched it and then the kid ran up and took the ring

And so it was that a 55 year old franchise got murdered by sjw's who couldn't accept the fact that the doctor was...you know....male. The show had time ladies, such as the Rani, Romana, and loads of time council members, they just weren't the main character. If they want a time lady then give them a spinoff with a new character, but no, they had to assfuck the very core of the show.

Ausfag here, just finished watching the new episode, It was a pretty good send off for Peter

So I've just emptied out yesterday's dinner which included a heap of sprouts and a double helping of xmas pudding but it still wasn't as big a stinking pile of turds as last night's episode. Typical Moffat overindulgent tripe. Here's hoping Chibnall is an improvement.

The whole experience is painfully dull. There's practically no plot or tension, just two doctors fucking about for no clear thematical purpose, First Doctor speaking self-conscious crap to hammer a pandering point home.

There is nobody in the world more based than us sneedposters. I'm so happy to be here tonight, sneeding it up with you all

>the very core of the show.
>the very core of the show is change
>they fucked change by changing the doctor

but do you know if the kid was just some random from the audience or someone related to show staff?

>they literally got us to do fake laughs at the end of filming
kek I figured it'd be something like that, it's pretty normal
it's interesting to be in the audience for a show like that and finding out how much is done at a separate time, I was in the project audience like 5 years ago and practically every single interview was prerecorded. dave hughes was constantly downing red bulls in the ad breaks and every second word out of his mouth was a derivative of "fuck"

Hey guys I really liked the Christmas special but you know what's better? The Simpsons Season 11 Episode 5

But idea that manipulator Seven was shot because he forgot to check screen before leaving TARDIS was pretty good.

>Wasn't something really bad to happen if he remembered her?

no, it was just that he believed that the only way they would allow each other to part ways was if one of them forgot everything
now that they've parted and there's been some time to move on, neither have the urge to suddenly rush and team up again

put your trip back on cats
Also no, 1 did not do that. He and 12 kind of started to have a conversation about it at one point but then they didn't.

Doctor Who is always at least 50% garbage.
Saying it as a fan.

at the end rove got us to clap for the kid and said he did a great job, not sure if he was related i just assumed it was a production members kid who loves doctor who

>hughesy downing red bulls and saying fuck all the time

my sides, thats actually fucking hilarious.

We have arrived to correct things

t.retardo

based sneed poster, thanks for protecting /who/ against the boardies

t. brainlet

>>the very core of the show is change
It saddens me that some morons believe that. How about we make the next Doctor a national socialist on a quest to eradicate Jews everywhere throughout the history? That's a change too.

...

But he never got to do a le ebin speech before regenerating. Just some gurning on a gurney.

sneedposting is the epitome of forced memes
there's no clever derivatives like baneposting, and there isn't multiple different aspects to reference like baneposting
it's just an inferior baneposting that has made it impossible to talk about the simpsons and I disapprove of its usage in /who/

The trips who are calling this a 10/10 godsend episode are going to regret it when they sober up and realize how truly mediocre it is.

>making the doctor a woman is as big a change as making them a nazi

>/who/ is this triggered over a couple of silly jokes riffing on some of the 60s sensibilities the show had back then

when did this place become full tumblr?

The only thing I am drunk on is SNEED

Believe me, I'm pleased as punch they shied away from such a thing but, knowing what I know of the First Doctor any problematic remarks he made about/towards Bill should have been racist ones if they wanted to stay in character. First Doctor being sexist makes absolutely no sense because, David Bradley is supposed to be playing the First Doctor not a combination of The First Doctor and William Hartnell irl.

Tumblr is who the jokes were meant to please. le sexist old man BTFO amirite?

>when the jannies come to delete your based sneedposts

They should have split peters series I think. would have stretched out his era a bit more. Made it not feel so rushed.

mad

yes and?

>full tumblr
Full /tvpol/, that is.

based rove pointing out the fact that 1 wasn't actually a sexist racist and moff was just projecting what he presumed hartnell was onto 1

>David Bradley is supposed to be playing the First Doctor not a combination of The First Doctor and William Hartnell irl.

The latter is literally the intention of Bradley's portrayal. It's a comment on how the show has changed, and how it will change again with Jodie.

Whovians is always based

>glassBill implying that Twelve is into student/professor roleplay

I originally wasn't keen on "Breaking the Wall" being 12's regeneration music given how it was just used one episode ago and it shouldn't ever get overused
but it just fit so well with the tone of his parting speech and I can't think of anything else that could have been better, it's the perfect song for morbid bravery

And why on Earth would that be a good idea? What do a dead actor's personal opinions have to do with the show?

A series of remakes of missing stories, remakes of some of one's best stories or entirely new stories with Bradley as a sexist, racist old Dr, yay or nay?

Who was it that uploaded whovians during S10? Are they still around to do it for the christmas special?
