Will they be expanding this universe? Is predxprey or interspecies coupling a thing? Tbh I like them better as friends, we never have a just good guy/girl friendship in big budget animated movies.

The male directors and voice actor want them to be a couple, but the female voice actor wants them to be friends.

So they'll just be friends in the sequel.

Go back to where you belong.

Bateman ships them?

>voice actors input on the story outweighs that of the directors
Nigga was supposed to be a joke or are you actually being that retarded?

Nah, there should be /fur/. Fuck off stigmafag, and this is not coming from a furry.

Didn't they imply in interviews that cross species relations could be a thing, but not cross breeding?

The voice actor has no say in the matter, unless she refuses to do the movie if her conditions aren't meet

What is there left to tell? I also don't understand why this movie is so popular. Nothing about the story or characters is meaningful.

On a technical level, the environments and sets are impressive, and inventive.

This winning the Oscar over Kubo and the Two Strings is a fucking travesty. America has the tastes of a plebeian.

>it's a women ruin everything episode

don't necrobump man

Oscars are rigged, man. But in this case Zootopia won rightfully, because it was relevant with all this racism allegory.

Movie is not really popular anymore, it's just Sup Forums is full of furries who went apeshit over its worldbuilding myself included

Right now it's cleanup time. Disney is preparing more Frozen, Wreckit Ralph and TS4.
If you want more zootopia try fur affinity or e621, it's a goldmine of porn.

>male directors

Kek.

nobody even cares about the "animated" categories.

They just see what ever movie their kids want to see.

Read some article about how some academy guy was mad that Lego Movie was snubbed while "Chinese fucking things" like Princess Kaguya were selected

The racism allegory was cut from the movie. It was a buddy cop movie with recycled afternoon special messages plastered on top.

Had they used the original scripts and ideas, then I wouldn't mind Zootopia, or it winning at the Oscars.

As the movie is, it's reductive in dealing with racism and its legacy is furry porn uploaded all over the internet.

>it's shipperfags ruin everything episode

wew

>Had they used the original scripts and ideas
Did... did you actually read any of them? They were practically a completely different movie, and that movie sucked ass.

>America has the tastes of a plebeian.
ding ding ding

I loved Kubo, but that didn't deserve to win at all. It looks pretty, yeah, but Zootopia has more substance than it by miles.

But Kubo is mediocre.
The problem with the skill involved in that animation is the writing team consistently fails them.

>Disney
>expanding a universe
wut. the most theyll do is milk you for likely shitty equal

>duurrr don't discuss cartoons in Sup Forums!!!!

I knew that reveal will spawn contrarians, I'll forever miss that comfy march.

there's nothing to milk, it's over.

>Tbh I like them better as friends, we never have a just good guy/girl friendship in big budget animated movies.
We already have Ralph and Vanellope and Moana and Maui. Judy and Nick's chemistry is way too fucking perfect to keep them platonic.

And make social commentary on samesex/interacial couples? Yeah no, I have enough diversity propaganda for this decade.

>The racism allegory was cut from the movie.

Are you actually retarded? It was just more subtle in the revised version.

Was surprised that the movie didn't touch on interspecies romance at all. So it is probably very rare in their universe.

Good interspecies romance is unnatural
I fucking hate when people use different species to represent racism. A rabbit hating a fox isn't racist. Foxs fucking eat rabbits and it's no ones fault. Circle of life

Judy's neighbours

Of course not, it was about "biases"
(the fact the city was dystopian hellhole ruled by apartheid laws where predators were treated worse than jews during WW2 was purely coincidental :^))

Iirc it's called "metaphor" - lie that helps you understand the issue.

I liked the setting and wouldn't mind seeing more stories set in it, even if they didn't involve any of the characters from the first film, it's a big city. But I feel if they did try going that route it'd end up having around the same amount of budget and work put into it as one of the straight to video films they used to release every other week. So I'm fine with it having just one neato film and being done.

>nobody even cares about the "animated" categories.

Why would anyone care about a containment category only made so a cartoon wouldn't have a chance of standing next to the war documentary, cancer biopic, and other war documentary?

The original script was awful and is a case of tumblr writing where there's no such thing as subtlety.

>mfw the main male and female of a series are literally just friends and there is no forced romance because good storytelling eclipses any false need for it to be shoehorned in to attract shipperfags

>Good interspecies romance is unnatural
But user, that's what makes it so special.

It's all fine and dandy to find some of your own species and have your instinctually ingrained sexual attraction for each other to help you make lots of vanilla babies.

But the story of a love between two people who overcome their vast differences to love one another in a world that would shun them Is just all the sweeter.

I know what a metaphor is and it is stupid. It they wanted racism it should be european rabbits against American rabbits or Lions against tigers or some shit. You can't be racist against a different species.

when these revoltech figures are coming?

>Oscar voters have an average age of 63 fucking years old

Why does the world care what the old folk's home cares about movies again? If I wanted the geriatric opinion I could just visit them myself, I don't need it announced from hollywood.

it was cute seing them go crazy over something so insignificant.

>This winning the Oscar over Kubo and the Two Strings is a fucking travesty. America has the tastes of a plebeian.

Kubo's a gorgeous film and technically amazing. Laika should be celebrated every day for not only keeping stop motion alive but doing it leaps and bounds above everyone.

As a story, though, Kubo falters. Badly paced and thinly written. It's honestly an issue with all of their movies. Coraline squeaks by thanks to its basic structure coming from Gaiman. Paranorman's got the most interest character dynamics, but it still never quite gets to that emotional core. The less said about The Boxtrolls, the better.

tl;dr Laika needs a script that's worthy of their visuals.

>You can't be racist against a different species.

Isn't that Sup Forums's argument?

The Female VA sounds like she has some good sense in her...

I can't remember the last time I saw a romantic relationship depicted in media that contributed significantly, and interestingly, to the story...

Also it validates and emboldens shippers and other undesirable demographics. People such as those deserve nothing but anguish, despair, and stillborn dreams...

Yes, I did read the script and watched the clips. It was emotionally charged and engaging. It had bite and guts.

What we got was largely unfunny, one note static characters, and pandering to a crowd obsessed with making pornographic content.

It made no God damn sense. It was a dystopia that no one would want to save.

Personally, I'm fine with the romantic entanglement and I'm fine without it. I enjoyed Zootopia for what it was and would love to see more of it, either way.

I would love a tease like we've joked about here. Where the movie opens and it looks like a wedding, only to have it be Judy and Nick undercover.

Why isnt there a /fur/? Seems so practical.

New boards that should exist
>/fur/
This saves everyone
>/trap/
This saves Sup Forums
>/mov/
This saves Sup Forums, nothing can save Sup Forums
>/pol2/ politically correct
Honestly just wanna see how this one plays out

Oh and Sup Forums should go back to /cock/

There was a /fur/, Moot used it to ban all the furfags many years ago.

And now we have /trash/, so what's the issue?

/trash/ is exactly the place for that crap.

Glorious, glorious April Fursday.

>It was emotionally charged and engaging.

i wish i didnt delete the hustle one.

you just want to see more animal torture.

>that was 12 years ago

/trash/ is basically/fur/.
Seriously Hiro may as well just change the name and make it official.

Well, he is an expert.
youtube.com/watch?v=62x54y7y54g

That was the point, user.

The protagonists want to save a cesspool of a city because it's the right thing to do. The fight against overwhelming oppression and racism is worth losing everything.

I prefer them as friends as well, though I can see Disney trying to tackle pred-prey relations and building upon it by making them a couple, since it hits interacial and sort of LGBT shit "But you're a bunny! You can't have kids marrying a fox blah blah bluh"

I'd rather they just be friends, too, considering we really do need some more m/f friendships in film.

And there's already enough interspecies fanwork to sate my appetite

...

i can't root for martyrs, two hours of fox torture
is not something i'd like to see in a big dark room.

All I know is I really want them to go to either animal Japan or animal Australia and introduce a bat Yakuza in the sequel.

>animal australia

...outback island from the concept ideas?

Works for me.

>Sup Forums should go back to /cock/
That was a fun day.

>I can't remember the last time I saw a romantic relationship depicted in media that contributed significantly, and interestingly, to the story...
This is the ONLY cartoon one I can think of.

>that contributed significantly

Did I fucking stutter?
Sup Forums is dumb though.

Shipping them is better.
artbirchly.deviantart.com/art/Zootopia-First-Date-623540614

But you did have a good guy/girl friendship. That's literally what their relationship in the fucking movie.

Pic not related, I presume.

Who the fuck came up with that image!?

They're brilliant.

Seems effective.

I am forever in agreement with this guy here.

goodnight, thread.

This. Kubo was visually incredible but the script was holding it back the entire time.

>replacement voice actors don't exist

I hope they will but not with Nick and what's-her-name. The setting has enough opportunities of storytelling and interesting characters for they to just stick with the old cast.

Please be serious so my laughter may be appropriately loud. Actually I don't care; troll away, funnyman.

Nothing about the story or characters of Kubo was meaningful, it was just a masterpiece of the craft.

>I fucking hate when people use different species to represent racism. A rabbit hating a fox isn't racist. Foxs fucking eat rabbits and it's no ones fault. Circle of life
That's...that's part of the point of the movie, user. They literally say that "yes, these prejudices we have against each other are not totally invalid, but we can't let that completely dictate how we interact with each other."

In the world of sentient animals, a rabbit being leery of a fox because a fox is a predator is natural. A rabbit hating a fox and refusing to see it as anything other than a predator is not and is not a good thing to do.

The racism allegory was more poignant without the collars, as it played out, because the it was more real and easier to relate to. The idea that racism is something where we put collars on people we don't like and shock them when they feel too much doesn't really gel with real world people.

>Generally speaking, don't interrupt people when they are shipping themselves.
>shipping themselves.

>Internet kids are so warped they use "shipping" as a reflexive noun for dating
We fucked up.

>What is there left to tell?
Uh, whatever new conflicts may arise in Zootopia or our fox/bunny cop duo?
New cities they can go expand upon, like ones meant for birds, reptiles, amphibians or even sea life?
Plot revolving around both sides of the "racial" spectrum (maybe with non-mammals) and having a far-lefty racist-like-Bell SJW as the antagonist?
Re-purposing previous ideas from proto-topia (Nick having tried Wilde Times/businesses like father in the past, or the threat of shock collars becoming real) and have Nick wanting to consider finding out more on where said father is?
Nick or Judy becoming more interested in other characters that show up, causing relationship-triangles?

Basic and probably lame but it's just some examples.

>SJW villain
>implying Judy wasn't this
Yeah, super lame.

"Dating" is a really outdated term, and "hooking up" sounds degenerate. I'd say "shipping" would be preferable, at least out of those.

>Dating is an outdated term
Nigga are you serious?

Yes, nobody does that anymore. Go outside and have a look around, I'm guessing you haven't left your room in a while.

She mistrusted predators for a while before clearing some names and encouraging people to try, not rant and sanction for racial/sexual inclusion-bias of everybody down to allahu-ackbar goats.

>awkward adolescent confession 2020: "You and I are kinda my OTP"
I don't like it.

>Going out
>Seeing each other

>implying that isn't what Dawn did
Why don't you stick to standard bad ideas like love triangles with Nick and Judy?

Those are both essentially euphemisms, though. Dating used to be an actual term for it.

So when I use the term "dating" I'm dating myself?

>Implying that anybody but the most deluded of tumblrinas uses the term shipping in the context of any real life relationship, let alone their own.

I think you're the one who needs take some time off from the Internet user.

You clever little fuck, have a well-deserved (You).
I'm not saying it's the best term, but it's certainly better than a wildly inaccurate one.

I'm more interested in what the writer wants, unless the director also wrote the screenplay or something like that.

Imagine it: teenagers in every school writing shipping fics about each other, getting into shipping wars about their classmates, determining which "ships" are "problematic" and screaming about them.

>Shipping
>more accurate than dating
What world are you from?

If they expand on the universe, then characters dating is not going to be one of the things explored. Sorry to tame your wild furry fantasies, but elephants fucking rabbits is a bit too strange for the public at large.

Any future Zootopia material will either be generic buddy-cop comedy to play on what has already been established, or something relating to a completely different topic. We're more likely to see Bonkers: Zootopia than we are to see interanimal dating matters.

>The racism allegory was more poignant without the collars, as it played out, because the it was more real and easier to relate to.
This. It's making a more modern and relevant statement, and is also more subtle than "Wow look at this dystopia where one group is literally forced to wear collars, isn't that bad?" Yes, it's bad. It's so bad that literally everyone would agree it's bad without actually having to examine racial attitudes in our society where publicly everyone is equal, and yet discrimination and prejudice happens anyway.

I enjoyed the paper folding storytelling and his mother telling the true story of how she and Kubo's father really met.

I just wanna see what the reptile society is like

"Shipping" comes directly from "relationship". Hard to get more accurate than that, connotations aside.

"Dating" implies some form of traditional courtship.

Because Dawn did it the opposite: she supported the majority.

>language changes based on people examining the linguistic roots and not based on the connotation that words have gained or carry.

Time to step out side the library there professor.

You ship two characters together, but you don't ship yourself with someone.
You date someone, but you don't date two characters together.
See the difference ?
