Why could'nt DC just use the Teen Titans to go against Guardians of the Galaxy? They are well known & more popular.

why are Elric of Melniboné and a bunch of clones of him cosplaying the NTT?

You mean the same way Batman, Superman and WW competed with Iron Man, Cap and Bucky?

Making an inferior movie, getting slaughtered by critics and making less at the BO?

Teen Titans really don't hit the same notes that Guardians of the Galaxy does though

>teenagers with superpowers
>in DCU
you know its just gonna be like twilight except a little bit sexier because of starfire

Popularity/renown in comics circles has absolutely nothing to do with making a good movie OR how much the general populace knows about the characters.
You mean sexier because of Dick, right?

Not OP, but Guardians of the Galaxy didn't hit the Guardians of the Galaxy's notes either; they reworked the entire team and all of their personalities and even origins.

This isn't anything special or new (even the newer cosmic Marvel comics did a lot of gently ignoring whatever came before them), but that shows that you don't really need to pay attention to shit to please most audiences.

Did the teen titans just have one really good story in their entire existance?

They don't have ANY good stories

They haven't had any.

I wish they would just scrap this toon titans and make YJ a thing again. Beastboy and Raven need to grow the fuck up. It's one of the worst cases of tv synergy.

They have had a good RUN, not a good story. Judas Contract is praised, but it's like the Dark Phoenix storyline; take it out of context and remove all the issues in between Terra's first appearance and the storyline and it looses about 100% of it's affect.

Comics weren't written with trade paperbacks in mind in the 1980's, but some younger readers fail to grasp this.

I remember Chris Claremont once outright said that the main reason every other Dark Phoenix adaptation is so shit is because "the bang at the end only worked due to the slow burn leading up to it", and having read the entire run I have to agree with him.

DC felt Suicide Squad was more marketable. So that became DC's #2 team. The Titans will always be hampered because they are sidekicks and knockoff JLs and why they would rather take characters off the team, like Cyborg or villains like Deathstroke, and put them on a team or in a movie they feel they can push or market more.

Also Guardians have a very unique look and feel they worked into the movie that wasn't really in the comics. Despite the Titans hitting their peak in the 80s if DC ever does make a movie about them it won't have any 80s feel to it and use modern music and visuals because the actors will be "modern" young adults.

Teen titans is not about space adventures with a white guy

They are making a third season of YJ.

They can compete and BTFO the xmen franchise

>DC felt Suicide Squad was more marketable

They were right

Aside from that time Dick went off into space to get his orange alien princess girlfriend back.

Because the Teen Titans are much better than LE EBIN DANCE OFF X-DDDD

Besides, if you want LELSORANDUMB you already have the TTG cartoon.

This. Suicide Squad made a ton of money and that was without being released in China.

Adam Warren's one-shot

thats stretching it too much

Teen titans is all about teenage problems and struggles and finding their own identity beyond being a sidekick

with massive hints of sexual awakening
done in a very deep serious yet somewhat humorous way that teens can still enjoy

its not about LE EBIN DANCE OFF X-DDDD

I always thought it was about child murder. Go figure.

That is part of the teenage problems and struggles.

At least they're smartening up with a new TV series and Nightwing (and Starfire, too, according to rumours) in the DCEU.
