As a whole it was a pile of shit with sloppy writing, boring episodes, and a lack of meaningful conflict, though the last few episodes picked up in quality. And thankfully, Season 5 is starting pretty strong.

About 5-6/10, somewhere in there. Most of the "bad" episodes weren't as bad as people have made them out to be, although there were some real stinkers, and the handful of good to amazing episodes didn't manage to really bring the season up above being middling.
I've been toying with the idea of Emerald being the judge for "The Trial", but I don't really expect it and I think it might just be me hoping that we finally get Emerald sooner rather than later. That being said, I really wouldn't be surprised if we finally got a White Diamond name drop or even brief appearance.

It's more likely one of the Diamonds is the judge, it makes sense. Maybe even White Diamond? I wouldn't want to get my hopes too high up though, it'd be a miracle if they even namedrop her. It'd more likely be Blue, especially given her personal stake.
As for Emerald, if Centipeetle isn't a Nephrite (technically a Jade, another very popular gem that hasn't been mentioned) then it could be her.

Here's a theory I have.
Aquamarines are much weaker than Lazulis are, being unable to use Hydrokinesis and needing to rely on weapons, but Blue Diamond personally prefers them above Lazulis, maybe because she finds them cuter? So this explains why Aquamarine's have a higher standing.
