Was making Alan Scott an actual Green Lantern a mistake?

Was making Alan Scott an actual Green Lantern a mistake?

He's never been a real Green lantern though
Do you even know the context of that picture you posted or did you just assume?

I'd like to know this as well.
Seems like you're out of your depth, OP.

Don't even bother, Earth 2 never got past "promising" and then went down the shitter.

if only dc didn't burn the bridge with robinson.

I WANT MUH JSA

Making him gay was the mistake.

No need tell me. I started with issue one, and stayed on the ride through the last issue of Society. What a goddamn waste.

They'll probably drop that if Todd comes back.
Good riddance. Nothing ever good came out him of being gay.

>no cape
What the hell were they thinking!?!? The cape is one of the most iconic elements of his uniform, removing it basically causes him to look like a completely different character.

Wasn't there some concept art of Alan getting a costume that looked like the original?

???

I still think DC should have Riddler gay when they announced their "One of our most iconic characters will now be gay" plan.
I mean Riddler was already pretty eccentric.

Once I get down from my penny farthing I'm gonna pin you and angrily fuck your ass for implying that eccentrics are gay

>burned the bridge
What did they do? Robinson was one of the best to ever write for DC.

They wanted to bring Tom Taylor in.

Robinson was vindicated.

Didn't he tap and marry two of his villains? That's pretty baller

no, making him young was the mistake

They put the editor responsible for the mess Cry for Justice became on Earth 2 despite Robinson being very clear it was the last thing he wanted.

None of these were mistakes since it's an alternate Earth anyway.

His costume needs the purple or else he looks like a Christmas ornament

Correct, which I why I preferred varying shades of Green.

Also trash. Give me muh golden age costume

You mean the one with the entire rainbow on it? Why did people get mad at Alan being made gay again? It's sort of been hinted at since he was created.

Making him gay was okay

Everything else they did to him in earth 2 was an atrocity

There's more than three colours

As a boring gay man I take offense to this.

in a rainbow

got distracted and hit enter, whoops

Yes, I exaggerated.
>Green
>Purple
>Red
>Yellow
>Black

I love Alan. Really I do. That costume needs a design consolidation though.
Personally I like this that uses Black instead of purple, and removes the gaudy detailing on the boots. Still looks and feels a lot like the classic costume without looking like Alan got into a fight with someone in a paint factory.

Dammit. Wrong picture.

I wish his Kingdom Come look stuck around.

Meh.
It added nothing to his character.

KYS. You are thinking of his son. Todd from day one had implications he was homo, not his dad.

>KYS
Take your own advice tightass. I was making a joke over all the colors on Alan's costume.

muh purple

No, no, sway riddler with riddlerettes at his side is best riddler

I know, I know, but it is a cleaner look and maintains the feel without feeling like a design explosion that doesn't scream CHRISTMAS!!! either.

it looks like fucking Christmas

Then get rid of the Red. What do you use instead?

just give him a purple cape

...

here I edited it poorly in paint.net

Basically he is gay and then the train crashes and his fiance dies and then the ring is imbued with the power of the Green because reasons, but he still has lantern powers and not plant powers because reasons.

I still won't forgive earth 2 for teasing us with fate, then abandoning the character.

I on the whole liked the book though, until sloan and olsen died. Afterwards it went to shit.

Needs purple mask

oh shit I forgot his mask was purple
I'm just too used to these new guys I guess

I want muh JSA

i wish all of alex ross' looks stuck around. the guy can't do a thing wrong

My only complaint is Dick being Red Robin instead of Nightwing

I think it's an ugly costume
