So what's his end game? He wants to kill the last Jedi, but he sounds like he's over the Order, Resistance, and Dark Side. What's his goal?

Crashing that s dreadnaught

Now that the dust has finally had time to settle I think we can all agree that he's unironically the most (only?) interesting character in the nu series.

Rule the galaxy but not the same way as daddy snoke because his stupid dad doesn't understand what the kids these days want.

He should have played K in Blade Runner

To burn the whole motherfucker down.

Summon Vader's Force Ghost to call Ben a good boy

He sees the flaws of the Jedi and the Sith so he wants to create an Empire free of their corruption

I feel like the Goose is the only one that could have pulled that off, but you may be right, would have been interesting

>What's his goal?
UNNNNNLIIIIMIIIITEEEEEDDD POWWWAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!

he doesn't have a goal, he's an insecure autist desperately trying to burn everything down so he can rule the ashes to prove he's his own man

it's not a mistake that TLJ ended with him sperging out in front of his army while chasing a ghost

but the sith have been extinct for like 30 years at that point and the jedi aren't faring much better

He wants to fuck Rey

>sperging out in front of his army while chasing a ghost
our guy

Crashing this franchise

He just wants to win over his Star Waifu and start a new order of grey force users

I don't know. It's sad the movies aren't about him.
So far he killed his archnemesis too soon.

He's so fucking ugly, holy shit.

He's going to revive the knights of Ren and create a new order of force-sensitives.

>archnemesis

Why was Snoke his greatest enemy? You would think that killing Luke would be much higher on his to-do list, given that Luke tried to kill him / failed as his master.

I think he's just nuts. His dad's dead, his uncle tried to kill him, his mom hated him, his master thought he was a joke and is now dead. Fuck I bet he just wants to kill as many people as possible.

>The movies aren't about him
They really are though. As of TLJ I feel like he's just as important to the trilogy as Rey. He's more of a main protagonist than even Fin is.

Considering even weeks before the most recent movie came out Kenedy is STILL insisting the main saga is about the Skywalkers, I wouldn't be surprised if he's even more of a main character in 9. After all, he's the only character alive with Skywalker blood in him.

>yfw Disney marketing fooled us into thinking the trilogy was about a girl and her black sidekick
If only I could go back in time to shitpost about how the main character ended up being a white guy back when the first Ep7 trailer came out

>Luke would be much higher on his to-do list
He would, but at the time he was unreachable. And anyway Kylo killed them both in the same movie.

he is so emo he wants to be the last jedi so he can kill himself

Isn't his goal the same as Luke's?

Luke end's the movie with "wtf I love the jedi now", so not anymore.

Nobody knows. Not even Disney.

He literally tells Rey in TLJ
He wants to destroy everything of his past, and for Rey to join him to start over

I hope this is true

...

To be rid of jedis and sith altogether, both have been a big source of conflict, get rid of the structure and leave only the individuals to make decisions for themselves. Light and dark side are neither good nor bad per see.

That doesn't mean it would work or he'd succeed though but I think that's basically his goal.

My personal thought is that Snoke was his greatest enemy because that's traditionally how Sith succeed their masters. Ren didn't realise this of course but he essentially went through the old Sith tradition of killing your master and completed his studies of becoming a Sith.

LET GO

Yeah, but Rey's hot.

He's going to think his purpose is to rule the galaxy by becoming completely evil but as his own master. He is going to finally kill Leia like he killed Han but it doesn't make him feel better. He uses the rest of the First Order to create Starkiller 2 to destroy the remaining rebelling planets. He is moments away from firing it when Rey stops him and shows him the jedi scrolls. He will realize that he was the real chosen one from the prophesies not Anakin or Luke. To fulfill the prophesy he must bring balance to the force and to himself. He has to get into the Starkiller 2 reactor to stop it but it will kill him in the process. Right before his death he achieves inner peace and is atoned for his sins.

Honestly it's no wonder people disliked this film when literal retards are allowed to complain about it.

If they build another fuckin death star/star killer...

I wonder how Kreia would look upon Kylo.

We all know it's going to happen, especially with JJ directing. "It's an homage to RoTJ"

Well they already did a throne room scene, guess porgs will be the new ewoks and somehow overthrow the first order

is it just me, or is it that every villain after Ledger's Joker been a fucking nothing after a fucking nothing over and over again? we're never told about their intentions, they never have a definable scheme other than "rule the world/galaxy/universe", and they don't even conflict against the protagonist other than "bad guy is bad, so good guy must stop bad guy".
i'm honestly drawing a blank of any villain from any movie i've seen since that has significantly stuck out.

Calling it right now
>Opening crawl
Star Wars IX: The New Order

Having disposed of Supreme Leader Snoke and dismantling what is left of The First Order, Kylo Ren sets about establishing his own empire sown from the seeds of The First Order and Galactic Empire. "The New Order" as it is now known, has begun using both ancient Jedi and Sith techniques combined to increase the power and influence of Kylo and his council of the newly emancipated Knights of Ren.
Using both the dark and light side of The Force in both combat and in diplomacy, The New Order has now become as powerful as the Galactic Empire had been in its prime in only 4 short years.
During this time, Jedi Knight Rey has adopted the surname of Skywalker and kept herself in exile to hide from the visions of Kylo and his Knights of Ren while strengthening her own use of the force into levels never before seen.
Meanwhile, a band of heroes, led by General Po Dameron, have regrouped what is left of the rebel forces on the junk planet of Ord Mantell. Hidden from The New Orders seers, the new rebellion secretly constructs a new fleet in hopes of bringing down this new menace...

>also Finn and his chinky dink have the ultimate interracial twin babies

this but unironically

Ledger Joker is just a brainlet's Anton Chigurh anyway

that's a nice answer, but NCfOM came out before TDK.

or perhaps could be the first grey jedi we see in the movies. one can only hope

His endgame is being the bad guy with a red lightsaber that Rey beats up.

That's his point

If theres one thing we all know its red=bad

No. Gosling did repression a lot better. Driver is too unhinged. As soon as Gosling was cast everyone knew he'd play a replicant. He was perfect for the role.

Bane?

this.

He's not motivated by anything other than gaining power to himself and ruling the galaxy.
The only good thing about TLJ is him becoming a real villain.

>So what's his end game?

Nothing. I mean that sincerely, nobody wrote a plot outline that begins to describe what the point of his character is. There is no arc to his story, it's made up as they go along.

He's not interesting at all, he's just an evil lunatic. People are being tricked into thinking he's interesting because Driver's performance is so good.

He wants to kiss Rey on the cooter

You need to watch more films. Not least because the sequel to the movie you're talking about has some pretty chunky exposition about the villain's motivations, and how they were created is at the forefront of most of the film.

If I give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you're just talking about big blockbusters, watch Split if you want a more unique villain. Even shit like Alien: Covenant has a villain with interesting and established motivations, and I could go on with Spectre, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes etc.

This actually sounds really good

>only character alive with Skywalker blood in him

uh... did you even watch the fucking movie?

I'm a fan of this. Wouldn't call it the New Order though. Kinda unoriginal.

Also I wouldn't paint Kylo as the antagonist anymore. If this is the direction they would go, with Kylo using both the light and the dark, they should put effort into showing him as even more down the middle than before

Luke is dead and Leia will be gone by 9. Who is left?

what were the things he wanted to do before finding out rey was on jakku? kill luke? if so, what did he plan on doing after killing luke? why didn't he kill luke when he killed a bunch of people at the jedi training temple?

>or perhaps could be the first grey jedi we see in the movies. one can only hope
Qui Gon would like to have a word with you

He wants to kill the past.
Also his motives change depending on the writer, like it happens with many characters in general.

He just wanted to please Snoke, who wanted to kill Luke.

Now that Snoke is dead, Kylo is a blank slate with his motivations

Why did his scar change place in-universe? And if he hates the past so much does he still want to be like Vader or did he change his mind after Snoke died? Is he just crazy?

Qui Gon is not a true gj. He still took orders from the jedi counsel.

He doesn't want to, anymore. Ironically, Snoke convinced him to drop that persona.

To bang Lena Dunham

to complete that, where his granddady failed

is this image a meme? because the emperor is so great because he's nothing but a sadistic evildoer
