So, is this shit or is it good?

So, is this shit or is it good?

S1>S3>S2>S4>>>S5>>>S6>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>S7

s1-4 are good, 5 and beyond complete dogshit besides hardholm and bastard battle

S1 = great
S2/4 = alright-ish (falls apart after RW)
S5/6 = shite

It's good it's just too popular for Sup Forums edgelordness to ever admit it's good.

Holy fuck, I forgot about S7... Beyond shite.
>Ice Dragon melts giant wall of ice with frosty breath¿¡?!

this. fanbase is cancer but it is a really entertaining show. the writing's taken a drop towards the end, but it's still super addictive.

It generally rises in quality all the way to season 4, then starts falling off, then downward spirals second half of season 6, then becomes painful to watch in season 7

>battle of the bastards
>good
Do you like capeshit too? Because that's exactly what it is.

It's excellent.

It's not perfect, but you'll have a fucking good time watching it.

IMO it follows the same U-shape that almost all fantasy series do.

Starts out great then gets boring in the middle then gets better towards the end

S1 = kino
S2-S3 = reddit
S4-S7 = tumblr

S1 is top tier tv kino.
Good entry point for the books.

OP. here, should I just watch seasons 1-4 and stop?

There's no real reason to watch it unless you're going to watch the entirety of it, may as well just skip it and accept that there's some hot dogshit in there.

Season 1 was very good.
2 and 3 were okay, and had their moments.
4 you'll only sit through if you're already invested.
Beyond that it's horseshit. Just ask anyone in Toronto for 10 seconds worth of spoilers that you'll probably guess anyway.

Honestly just watch the 1st season as its own self-contained unit. Going further there are some decent moments but a lot of loose ends.

Sounds like a plan, Stan.
Alternatively, he can just watch the entirety of the only chars he cares about - which probably won't be the designated hero boys and Mary Sues still remaining.

S4>S1>S2/3>S6>S5>S7
Season 1-4 are amazing, the rest is still good but a letdown from previous seasons. Everyone else here is just memeing.

>Alternatively, he can just watch the entirety of the only chars he cares about
That's also an option, assuming he doesn't come to care about any of the other characters along the way. Like how I did with Dexter and Heroes. Goddammit, I hate television sometimes.

>tarts out great then gets boring in the middle then gets better towards the end
>gets better towards the end

It’s just porn with swords

its nice cinematography and looks nice
the logic and understanding of how a battle works is utter garbage tho

It's shit wrapped in velvet.

Swordnography haha like ssexposition

>People tell me I look like pic related
>Go to bars and have girls say it before attempting to hook up with me
>Comfy feeling but still stuck on Sup Forums posting in Truman threads like a pavlovian response

Will I ever escape this place?

Depends on whether you enjoyed it or not. At least watch the first season.

It's really good but obviously has dips in quality. People here don't like it/won't watch it because they value their enjoyment based on how many others have also enjoyed it. They're like the women of men, only enjoying certain things to gain popularity points, but instead of impressing the opposite sex they like impressing sweaty neckbeards on an anonymous image board.

Some amazing episodes. Some awful episodes. Many average episodes.

After s4 there's a big dip in quality but it's still entertaining and has it's moments where it really shines. Might as well watch the whole thing, it's worth noting that it does have an ending and its about to end.

So you're a manlet with greasy hair and a sorry excuse for a beard

>nice blog post

I couldn't give less of a shit. This thread is about whether or not faggot OP will like this show or not

The story of Ned Stark is perfect, self-contained little subversion of high fantasy cliches. Once that story is over, the series meanders and drags out, making the same point less and less effectively until it completely fucking falls apart in season 7. GRRM had no idea how to end it, and realized he couldn't do so without resorting to the same cliches he was subverting, which is why he stopped, and D&D are fucking abysmal writers without following GRRM's lead, so the show was doomed to be disappointing from the start.

But still, the first season is very worth your time.

unironically this. All these contrarians are too stubborn to admit great tv can also be popular tv, just because its rare doesnt mean it doesnt happen.

if you make a GoT related thread you should probably expect people to just treat it like a general tbqh

Seasons 1-4 are about medieval inspired power plays with fantasy elements. After that it starts to become pure fantasy and loses its appeal.

Dip in quality? The first seasons have the shittiest wigs and plastic leafs. Well they still use the shitty plastic leaves

What was painful? Season 7 was awesome

>The story of Ned Stark is perfect, self-contained little subversion of high fantasy cliches.
True, but then it's also nice how it's flipped with the story of Robb Stark.

Meh.
Guess it's sorta like DBZ where some say it should have ended on Namek, and others after Cell, but where everyone agree the Buu arc and beyond was pointless.

Who gives a fuck, the season itself it a well-written, self contained story with perfectly serviceable effects, sets, and costumes, as well as some stellar performances. If all you care about is how expensive the production was, I don't really know what to tell you.

>first few seasons
>follow books quite well, pretty good
>seasons 5,6,7
>run out of books
>PANIC

not him but the fem shit was painful. Otherwise a fun season.
