I love you.

>You look like a gooooood Joe
I was prepared for
>You imagined it was you...
but not the billboard Joi scene

You don't have to say that.

Wallace kills newborn replicant.

When koko gets killed, poor guy.

emotionally devastating is GOoood Joe

"I do hope you're satisfied with your product"
>As she looks at Joi, not K

The kino smile.

What part was that? The gooood Joe?

Love me some Luv. Blowing up homeless people and making it look good. Getting her nails did, too. This was a great moment.

What part? How could you forget?

the one where he's stearing at the JoiHologram after Joi dies, you know the meme one

something about people eating alone just gets me. there's something very sad about being hunted while trying to live in peace away from the world. I found this little story a lot more affecting than the ridiculous replicant baby plot, although the hologram romance was very well done too

The fact that plebs that consume game of thrones and edgar wright movies think this is kino

Has to be the pink Joi hologram. This was when I realised that K had literally nothing left in his life. His job/role in society had been taken away, he had to leave his home, his girlfriend died, then he is told that his life doesn't actually have any significance like he began to believe. The only happiness he could recall was his love for Joi and her love for him, but it is revealed bluntly that Joi was nothing, even less special and real than he is, and whatever he thought existed between them was just another lie to keep him in the right place.

Only after this last aspect of his fake reality has been torn away does K decide that he can use his life to do something good, a sacrifice that has meaning for a love that is real. How was this movie so good Sup Forums?

>How was this movie so good Sup Forums?

No idea. I watched it 3 times at the movies and loved it more each time.

Oh duh.

this very moment when the guy who wrote it, didn't eat enough fish, or didn't smoke enough weed, or didn't sniff enough coke, so that he forgot to go deeper into it, and that very moment too, when the writer has the ideas, but the producer, who wanted to make it 7/77 enjoyable, says no.

Best movie I've seen in a long time. There wasn't enough diversity in the casting, though.

just kidding

degenerate

do you, by extraordinary, imagine that these fuckers writing scripts are not loaded all day long?
i have bad news for you

Not everyone needs to be such a degenerate to completely alter his mental state in order to be creative user.
I bet you're at that point where you can't even enjoy a film if you are not under a certain amount of substances, utterly pathetic.

the "good joe" scene killed me, hell it still kills me today

very nice meme m8

>youve been getting along fine without one
without what?
>a soul

How did she realize his "name" was Joe? Were all the conversations between him and Joi uploaded to some cloud, or was the advertisement able to read his thoughts?

what

joe was probably the default name setting for Joi. IIRC, K's name was like a serial number right? So when he started thinking he was a real person Joi decided to give him a "real" name, but since she is just a pre programed waifu she used the name Joe.

>What am I to you ?

When I realized that Joi really did love K and was expressing it the only way she could (with her per-programmed phrases), and K died thinking she was just a soulless product.

this.
this is exactly what i was saying.
lurk moar.

That's the point, she didn't know him. Joi supposedly calls everyone Joe, as in "Average Joe". He was seeing his closest friend and only love being displayed like a porn ad, which brings into question what kind of relationship existed between K and his version of Joi. Was she a unique Joi that learned and developed a natural relationship with K, or do all people who buy Joi get the exact same fake satisfaction of having a programmed AI love them?

Quandry:
JOI is programmed to be anything you want her to be. What does K want JOI to be? Real.
Therefore, is JOI real?
Also, when Luv destroys JOI, she looks at JOI, not K, and asks if she enjoyed their product. K is a product as much as JOI is in which case, is JOI more real than K?

youtube.com/watch?v=6iqmIoHL74Y

Have you watch the Sapper short on Youtube? I really liked it.

The part where you realize that evil Leto guy finds them all anyway because of total surveillance.

...

That's your interpretation of it. In my opinion, when K saw the ad he realized his Joi was his and only his and that he could never have her again

Only Luv followed K personally, now she's dead, Wallace is busy jerking off to more colonisation in his wooden pyramid pool, all good.

the whole movie, because i saw it twice in the theater rather than waiting for a torrent like a pleb.

>You look like a Joe
God that was such a heart breaking scene

I think the degree of humanity does not matter as much as the fact that they are simply not really human. What it does mean though is that K and Joi can't even enjoy a real relationship as a human might with a replicant (Deckard and Rachel). They are both less than human, and that's one thing that binds them together, but they are not capable of truly loving each other. Not only can K not have children, Joi can't even have physical contact.

After this fucking year I just wanna lie in a snow like this, too bad there's no snow and it probably won't happen anytime soon.

Those nips

Joi - Joe

Barbie found her Ken.

I like your interpretation better.

I really shouldn't be doing this to myself right now, I'll regret feeling that much.

I wanna nut in her pussy!!!!!

Where did you download the movie?

Writer's mistake was not tying up the main plot. The stupid cliffhanger feels like they ran out of budget or wrote themselves in for a continuation. In the current state 2049 isn't self-contained, which is antithesis to the original. Blade Runner isn't meant to be a sequelizable title.

pic related, peak of acting

woah no one told me giant titters were in the movie, I would have seen it had I known

Not him, but you can get on TPB if you don't live in cuckland.

Why was he that mad at that instant and not at any of the other shit he had to put up with?

Bang...

The weight of the idea of him not being who he is was too shattering to accept before.

>I Retire...

Everything piles up, user

see you ..space cowboy

you are a fucking brainlet

This. He didn't deserve to die. Thoughtful, kind, just a guy trying to get by.

bros i cant wrap my head around how incredible this kino was. im as cynical as it gets, i was ready to nitpick every flaw and blow it out of proportion to talk shit about it on Sup Forums and get a reaction out of fans but ...i couldnt find any, every frame was a masterpiece, it was an audiovisual feast, the plot was engaging, the characters fascinating, it wasnt fast-paced but the 160 minutes flew by....i cant stop thinking about it

Motherfuckers got me good. I really thought he was the baby.

the audio wasn't that great but it had its share of kino moments. I thought it was less coherent than 2019 TBQH family. Still excellent movie, better than anything else (((hollywood))) put out in the past decade

>[crushing sound]

Same, i really wanted him to be the special one, fuck.

Also, answer me Sup Forums, did this movie flop?

>the audio wasn't that great
Did you watch it on some shitty laptop ?

It was a damn cheap trick. They wrote themselves into bullshit territory of having to explain how bubble virgin went the perfect path of not getting detected right under corporate nose since age 8.
It would've been far more feisty to see Goose make the actual hard decisions either to make babbies with subhumans or make babbies with superior mark replicants. Who's pussy do you choose, Joe?

the sound was sensational my man

>those gun sounds

BRRRRRRRRRRT
BRRRRRRRRRRRT
BRRRRRRRT
amazing sound track Zimmer you have really outdone yourself

the best tracks were just ripped off of vangelis.

Some of the dubbing felt flat, like the prostitute replicant in the open canteen talking to K.

is this actually worth watching?

Absolute crushing kino

The best part was where he found the horse though.

>the best tracks were just ripped off of vangelis.
Absolutely this.

Incorrect. The thing is they need the visuals to work properly. The track "Mesa" combined with the sea wall is amazing.

This was a big disappointment for me. I fucking love the original vangelis score, and I know it would be hard to top it, but I feel like they didn't even try.
I thought the synth horns were fitting for the sweeping shots through the city, but otherwise its just a whole bunch of nothing.

I don't remember the soundtrack to be so pungent.

2049's soundtrack wasn't bad. Just not as good as 2019. I loved almost everything about 2049, it's a fucking great film. But I prefer 2019 is all.

>everything you want to hear
When you realize Joi just said K was the baby because deep down that was all K wanted to hear

>he best tracks were just ripped off of vangelis
Kind of the whole point.

ryan gosling

It's good. It's long and really slow, so don't go in expecting capeshit action. Its Drive: 2049 without the sound track.

She always "knew" that he was special
He never was

youtube.com/watch?v=NujlXgBmUoU

this was my favourite part of the whole soundtrack, and that whole ending sequence was just right

>the best tracks were just ripped off of vangelis.
haha yeah just like the best parts of the set were ripped off blade runner

The point was to just be dependent on the previous film? That's part of why 2049 is inferior to 2019. It wasn't ambitious enough, and was ultimately overshadowed.

that's good to hear actually, based on the advertising it looked like capeshit action which is why I never checked it out

the reason it was incoherent is because it was too ambitious

I hope this is bait

>It wasn't ambitious enough, and was ultimately overshadowed.

How do you mean?

>his emotionless face as soul is crushed
>the way the colour goes from vibrant pink to cold blue as he slumps his head down
FUCKING KINO

Was disappointed once I heard the first song kick in. Found out it was Zimmer later and not the guy who usually composes for Dennis' movies and it made sense.

It made it's money back.

>tfw you read a spoiler before seeing the movie that he wasn't the replicant baby

youtube.com/watch?v=Cg0cmhjdiLs
they were never gonna match Vangelis, it might have been nice to have somebody more obscure do the soundtrack, but the Hans Zimmer soundtrack is adequate

the change was pretty last minute too iirc

From my point of view, the movie was two unfinished arcs, or at least two unpolished arcs. The Joi arc and the Deckard/K's self-realization arc, both of which just didn't really feel complete. Joi's arc seemed to be exploring ideas about whether an AI is sentient and could feel true love and if a person could feel true love for one. It seemed at first that it didn't really matter if it was """"real"""", because who could tell the difference? Well, the "good joe" scene revealed what the difference was. Joi wasn't a person who loved K and thought Joe was a good name, she's a computer program that calls people Joe. And by the way, I have a hard time understanding why people compare the tears in rain speech to the "good joe" scene. They are completely different. Tears in rain is about Roy (who's a better character than anybody in 2049 btw) coming to grips with his mortality and being fulfilled in having become his own man and self-realizing. "good joe" is about K realizing that he isn't realized at all and his whole life up to that point was completely fake and gay.

Anyway, K goes on to self-realize and become a real human bean with volition when he decides to tell the revolution to go fuck themselves and decides to just do one good thing, one choice of his own and reunite Deckard with his daughter. Really great bait and switch I thought. I was rolling my eyes out of my head with the resistance showed up and was pleasantly surprised when K realized how gay they were.
