Now that the dust is settled and hindsight is 20/20, what were some of the best New52 runs?

Now that the dust is settled and hindsight is 20/20, what were some of the best New52 runs?

To be fair, it was supposed to be Vertigo.

Aquaman, Swamp Thing, Dial H, and LITERALLY NOTHING ELSE.

DO NOT BE FOOLED BY ACTION COMICS FAGS. DO NOT BELIEVE THEIR LIES. I love Morrison but AC was shite.

Initial Flash run and Azz WW. I even liked Snyder and Capullos run.

>Lemire's Green Arrow.
>King's Grayson.

Action Comics,Grayson,Dial H, and Omega Men.

Definitely not pic related.

Morrison's worst is still better than John's best.

Demon Knights was GOAT. I liked Snyder Bats alright. Aquaman was bretty gud. Swamp Thing and Animal Man were cool too

>Omega men
>Azzarello Wonder Woman
>Grayson
>Dial H
>Soule's Swamp Thing(Snyder's was just alright)
>Martian Manhunter
>Prez
>Multiversity
>Morrison's Action Comics.

Red Lanterns
Larfleeze
Wonder Woman

That's all I bothered collecting that I'd call good, I collected CoO and prompt dropped everything with Scott Snyder's name on it, and RatO fucking sucked, but it's a guilty pleasure of my shelf.

IMO:

- Morrison and Greg Pak's Action Comics
- Tomasi's Batman & Robin
- Gotham Academy
- Gotham by Midnight
- Valentine and Tieri's Catwoman
- Grayson
- Midnighter
- We Are Robin
- Soule's Red Lanterns
- Stormwatch's final issue
- Martian Manhunter
- Lemire's Green Arrow
- Azzarello's Wonder Woman
- Buccellatto/Manapul's Flash
- Johns, Parker and Abnett's Aquaman
- Snyder and Soule's Swamp Thing
- Animal Man
- Resurrection Man
- Dial H
- Sword of Sorcery
- Frankenstein, Agent of SHADE
- Demon Knights
- All Star Western
- G.I. Combat
- Star Spangled featuring G.I.Zombie
- Multiversity

dr fate
the shade

The Shade was underrated as fuck. Completely under the radar though.

Also like to nominate OMAC, was pretty good as a Kirby homage.

>5th dimensional imp cucked by Mxy

I was loving Gotham by midnight, but I hated that they took off Templesmith from it and dropped it immediately. I say this as A Ferreyra fan. After reading the second volume in trade, I thought I made the right decision. The book didn't work without Templesmith.

my top two are
Animal Man
Captain Atom

In no particular order.

>Johns's Aquaman
>Soule's Red Lanterns
>Grayson
>Dial H
>JL3K
>Animal Man (minus Rotworld)
>Justice League from Throne of Atlantis onward
>Snyder's Batman, despite my misgivings
>Morrison's Action Comics
>Azzarello's Wonder Woman
>Talon
>Vibe
>All Star Western
>Lemire's Green Arrow
>Gotham by Midnight
>Gotham Academy
>Multiversity

Forever Evil was a great event, too.

Fuck, I forgot about Larfleeze! Loved that series.

Omega Men was DCYou.

Still one of the best things they've ever put out though

>not mentioning Animal Man
>not mentioning Amethyst
>not mentioning Wonder Woman
>not mentioning Johns GL still going on
>not mentioning Agents of S.H.A.D.E.
why do you suck so much?

In alphabetical order:
>Animal Man by Jeff Lemire
>Aquaman by Geogg Johns
>Batman and Robin by Peter Tomasi
>Demon Knights by Paul Cornell
>Dial H by China Mieville
>Frankenstein: Agent of SHADE by Jeff Lemire and Matt Kindt
>Grayson by Tom King and Tim Seeley
>I, Vampire by Joshua Fialkov
>Midnighter by Steve Orlando
>Multiversity by Grant Morrison
>Omega Men by Tom King
>Swamp Thing by Charles Soule
>Vibe by Geoff Johns and Sterlin Gates
>Wonder Woman by Brian Azzarello

Johns GL sucks dick

I love how underrated Dial H is.

On the other hand, there was a series about a bunch of teens that was 50/50. Don't remeber the name right now but Batgirl appeared in one or two issues and one of the Gen 13 girls was there too.

The Movement?

I think it was The Movement. It was something you would expect from modern Marvel od DCYou.

Animal Man was also good my dude

Have they done anything with Larfleeze in Rebirth? I'm not really a big Lantern fan

He's shown up in Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corps

The art was too dark.

Well I guess that's kind of cool, did he actually do anything, or was it a "Hey, don't forget about this character" kind of appearance?

...

>no one mentions RHatO
Hmph.

Because it was shit.

...

See Do a search next time user

>RatO
A bit hard to search if it misses a letter.

Flash was far from good. The art was the only redeemable part.

Aye, I see that now, but why add the 'H'? Redhood is all one word in this context, which is why I didn't bother adding it. Sorry for the confusion.

You can have fun reading a book, but that doesn't make it well written.

>Redhood is all one word in this context
No it isn't.

Well shit, you got me user, my bad.

10 Books I liked but am nowhere claiming they are the best:
Threshold
Dial H
Grayson
Snyder and Soule's Swamp Thing
Gotham Academy
Post-FE Justice League
Justice League 3000/3001
Infinity Man and the Forever People
Midnighter
Martian Manhunter

I read Omega Men retroactively. I also liked Klarion, Larfleeze and Snyder's Batman a lot but wasn't super invested in them

>Larfleeze
Man, this book became so hard to finish.

looking through the thread I totally forgot about great stuff like Agents of SHADE and Batman and Robin

it feels like its been an eternity since those were going even though its only been a few years

Morrison's AC was great.

I really wish they would have done more with the revived orange corps, I wonder if they ever made it off that planet

Pretty much everything that wasn't superhero was solid gold

I barely remember, but I think he took over a Brainaic ship and started collecting planets because MINE

Was Gotham Academy one of the original 52 books or did it release later?

F

See, that sounds fucking great, hope they follow up on that

>and LITERALLY NOTHING ELSE.

No. New 52 had a shit load of good titles. It wasn't DC at his best but if you like C listers it was a good time because thy weren't affected by the continuity fuck ups that the A list titles were

Do we count DCYou as New 52?

He was the villain of a small arc. Good to see him not just be comic relief all the time

Shouldnt Larfleeze be one of the strongest lanterns around? Keep in mind I'm pretty casual when it comes ro Lanterns, but Larfleeze doesn't share his power with anyone, all the others have a fraction of the power that they draw apon. Larfleeze draws on yellow light alone. That should put him pretty high up there on the 'do not fuck with this guy' list, right? But, since he's a dumbass he limits himself like Electro?

Nah the lanterns don't share power. The ring is conduit for the users own emotion. So a Green lantern is only as strong as their own will. Larfleeze is powered by greed which is why he is the only orange lantern.

But what about their central power batteries? I thought they all drew on the same source, it's just your connection to whatever emotion that dictates how strongly you can draw. Larfleeze became the orange battery didnt he? Like I said, lantern casual here.

Yeah

Fucking this. IMO Animal Man was the best New 52 title.

I wonder if it would make a good TV series? Normies could use some good horror.

It started with DCYou.

This one is more or less spot on the money, save the dud of Futures End.

For what it's worth, the 10 that stick out most in my mind:

>Larfleeze
>OMAC
>Phantom Stranger
>Prez
>Grayson
>Swamp Thing
>Soule's Red Lanterns
>Dial H
>Valentine's Catwoman
>Azz Wonder Woman

Nope, came out earlier during a little renaissance of the Bat line with Grayson, Burnside Batgirl, Gotham by Midnight and some others.

Second Semester launched with DCYou IIRC. Either way it was definitely part of the 'Are you ready?' Promo images.

Second Semester started with Rebirth.

>Aquaman, Swamp Thing, Dial H, and LITERALLY NOTHING ELSE.

Swap Aquaman for Sword of Sorcery and I agree.

Larfleeze
Sinestro
Johns GL
Vibe
Phantom Stranger
Prez
Grayson
Justice League 3000
Animal Man
Swamp Thing
Gotham by Midnight
Valentine Catwoman
Dial H
Curse of Shazam
Infinity Man and the Forever People

Larfleeze has been chugging the central power battery for a long time and has an entire corp of members at his beck and call. He's pretty fucking strong, I'd probably say below Skyfather tier.

Curse of Shazam makes me so mad, not the mini itself, that was great, but the fact that DC promised us a Shazam ongoing and have still yet to deliver, even after the tease that was Thunderworld

Yeah, I have no idea why they never went through with a Shazam solo. Did Geoff get too busy too fast or something?

What it seems like, all I know is that the day we DO get another Shazam ongoing is the day I add a 4th DC title to my pull list

There was some pretty good horror out there last season. The Exorcist on Fox was pretty good (well shot at least), and Syfy had that copypasta anthology which was okay.
Someone needs to show Bryan Fuller Animal Man, because he seems to be the go-to guy for "cool, visually weird stuff" after his latest Hannibal and American Gods

Strictly in terms of art alone, Batwoman and Flash.

>Morrison's AC
>Better than GL Rebirth

>Agents of SHADE
The book was a mess. None of the side characters mattered and they were all just kind of there to be there. I love the book and the character, but it needed a lot of work.

Action Comics isn't even close to being Morrison's worst. Try reading Kill Your Boyfriend.

>GL Rebirth
Pretty telling when it is just a power rangers tier plot.
