I'm from /lit/, and I have a Sup Forums related question.

What non-Sup Forums books generate the most fanart and fan comics?

I mean, those with movie and cartoon adaptations clearly do, but what about unadapted books? Do illustrations play a role, or is it mostly about the text appealing to fanartists?

Good Omens probably related.

I'm not sure if there are a lot of fan comics based on books. I remember a bunch of gag comics but not longer continuous stories. Most fan artists probably don't have the determination to keep working on a longer comic.

Harry Potter's easily #1 most popular franchise on Fanfiction.net. My guess is it's probably on top of the list for fan art too.

Wasn't Good Omens supposed to get a TV show?

I loved that book.

IIRC its getting one after American Gods.

Next year on Amazon and the BBC.

There was also a very good dramatisation of it on Radio 4 a few years ago with an excellent cast.

I think Sean Phillips did some artwork for it, I'll try and find it.

Found them on his blog, which I can't link because the system thinks its spam.

Man, Good Omens would make for a great comic.

Is fanfiction.net still popular? I thought people moved to AO3 in the last couple of years. According to that, Marvel/MCU has the most works (about 228k fanfics).

>Death won't be Christopher Lee
Fuck me.
Also who of those fuckers is supposed to be pollution?

Shit pairing. Glad it never happened.

Considering they're making a comic adaptation of American Gods, I wouldn't be surprised if they do the same with Good Omens when it becomes a show.

From left to right they go Famine (Paterson Joseph), Death (Jim Norton), War (Rachael Stirling) and Pollution (Harry Lloyd)

So you know, Christopher Lee did do Discworld Death in the Cosgrove Hall cartoons of Soul Music and Wyrd Sisters, and in the live action Colour of Magic.

Shit opinion. I'm glad I've never met you.

Was Series of Unfortunate Events fanart ever a thing, or did it come too early?
Brett Helquist's illustrations were pretty great.
