How do we fix Jean?

How do we fix Jean?

She was my very first comic waifu and I can't even read her stuff anymore it's so bad. She's nothing like Jean, aside from the look (which don't even look right) she's not the same at all. She's a complete shit character now.

>complete shit character now.

She's always been shit.

Delete young Jean.

Nobody likes the young O5.

I'm not trying to be funny. Nobody likes them at all. I don't know why they exist. Who they appeal to. Destroy and forget about them.

Return the real Jean from her current Phoenix Force fuckery.

Scott and Jean aside from Sue and Reed were the best power couple in Marvel. 80's and 90's Jean was best Jean.

>She's always been shit.
Bullshit.

>M-muh Jean

Name 4 good jean grey stories that don't involve her as Phoenix or dying,She and iceman are the weakest characters of the O5 desu

/thread

As much as I like Angel, he's never done anything.

...

...

Scott shoulda just took his chances with young Jean instead of noping out and being responsible. Especially since Kitty treated him like a pedophililiac uncle in the same scene.

The weird thing is Young Jean loves Old and Young Scott but has to say no because OLD SCOTT IS EVIL. IF I KISS YOUNG SCOTT HE'LL TURN EVIL.

Has this character ever not been a cunt?

80's, early 90's.

People like them.

They're going anyway. Look at 2099 spiderman then poof gone soon.

I expect expect teen jean to stick around...until they make her a villian.

Before she was a cunt she was boring,Jean is best either when Phoenix is in charge,When she's in the grave and when she's a memory,

why elf ears

>Nobody likes the young O5.

It's simple

>ungay Bobby
>Write her as not a cunt

How did Cyclops go crazy?

T-this is an e-edit right?

O5 jean is a cunt for leading on hank just so she can fight her fate. Then she goes back to entertaining scott's advances

She DOES probably see them having sex, but there's no image accompanying it.
The edit is using a porn pic from X-Men Evolution.

Honestly the only characters that don't really suffer from writing pit holes from the 05 are Scott and Hank.

There was a good thing with the disbanding of the original team as well. Jean being dead was nice, especially after Dark Phoenix Saga. Bobby trying to fucking make something of himself in college was nice. Warren was off being a businessman. Even Scott and Hank were almost out of the X-men. Hank was an Avenger and Scott was on his way to becoming a family man.

Then fucking faggots like Busiek started crying and Marvel responded with reviving the old team with X-Factor and fucking up all the progression those characters had going for them so they could look like the fucking power ranges. I'll say that X-Factor was probably the beginning of X-Men suffering from over saturation.

Morrison fixed her pretty well, I think.

He didn't

...

Bump for more Jean discussion.

Le epic meme

This.

Because Morrison wanted Jean and Scott again. He hated Logan lusting after her.

Bump for Jean. No one even reads her storytimes, it's really sad.

>How do we fix Jean?
Kill her.

Meta Commentary on comic death ??

Stop. Marvel is better off with Jean around.

Sorry if is a re-post. here issue 26

The end

Kitty seems to know what's up

It's honestly scary how one writer is so influential within the industry that both readers and writers embraced that revisionist history.

Also, nobody really tried to make Xavier relevant after Morrison declared he wasn't.

There have been multiple times where he was rendered out at times. At that point, he was mostly just a mascot role.

1) Follow through on the Young Jean goes bad plot, the one from a few years back where she grew up to become the new Xorn.

2) Use this as excuse to back out of the gay Iceman garbage.

3) Send the teen O5 back to their own dimension.

4) Relaunch the X-books again, and bring back Scott, Jean, Xavier and Logan.

5) No Phoenix, no Wolverine love-triangle. Order the writers to not do either of those plots ever again.

Why can't we just kill off Magneto, Storm, Emma Frost, and Kitty so that the X-Men truly die out?

...

...

>Dangit, Bobby. You're gay.

After the last 10-15 years, there's certainly an argument for putting the franchise out of it's misery, but so long as it can keep making money, it's not a realistic prospect.

Magneto, Mystique and Sabretooth definitely need to be re-positioned as enemies of the X-Men, rather than members of the team, however.

Magneto doesn't really work as an enemy role.

He worked well enough in the 1990s as an enemy of the X-Men, without having to regress to 1960s levels of insane evil. Magneto operates on an ends-justifies-the-means level that the X-Men should be opposing, uses lethal force they shouldn't use, and shouldn't agree with, and Magneto will protect criminal mutants from facing justice because "my people, right or wrong". Magneto wants a mutant state, or mutant supremacy, the X-Men are supposed to want co-existence and integration with humanity.

Magneto works as someone the X-Men may ally with against a mutual threat, but he shouldn't be one of them. It either neuters him, or morally compromises them. Sometimes it does both at the same time.

That my Girl. I loved her.

X-Men have been in "fight to survive" mode for so long that complaining about morals is rather hypocritical.
Plus Magneto is old as fuck, if not physically.

He went full Hitler*, if the way characters talk about him is any indication.

*Hitler, in this instance, means "tried to stop his own people from being literally gassed to death".

The solution to this is simple: Stop doing "mutants on the brink of total extinction, fight to survive, abandon your morality and kill to live" stories. Stop it. No more. Not now, not ever.

Stop doing that, then you don't need to have "all mutants unite as one against the common threat", and you can get back to having the X-Men, Magneto, Cable, Apocalypse, and everyone else, all with their own different methods and ideologies.

To get back to talking about Jean, since she was dead for most of the extinction-years, she could be used as a force for getting the X-Men back to who they used to be.

Who started the Logan loves Jean idea? Did anyone here honestly like it?

IIRC didn't the movies really start the Logan and Jean thing? Then Marvel comics just went with it?

Clearly one of two things happened here:

a) Marvel at one point intended for Cyclops to have done something far worse, (or at least be blamed for something far worse, done in his name after he'd died) then backed out of it, but because they're idiots, kept on having everyone talk about him like he was Hitler, or

b) Marvel think Hitler has been unfairly maligned by history, and was just trying to protect his people.

The first sounds more likely, but who can really know?

We get a writer to write a scenario where they do the do, please?

Inhuman propaganda websites

Claremont started it back in the 1970s, but it was just an issue or two of Logan having feelings for her that he never expressed. It never went anywhere at the time, he introduced Mariko as Wolverine's love-interest about a year or two afterwards.

It didn't really become a big thing until Claremont went back to it again in the mid-1980s, with a story in Classic X-Men retconning it into a mutual attraction.

From there on, it never really went anywhere, but never really went away either. Jean had feelings for Logan, but loved Cyclops more. It was a thing in the 1990s cartoon, as well. The movies just brought it back after years of not really being an issue.

Claremont wanted to kill Wolverine and IIRC he was beyond pissed Marvel bought Jean back.

Claremont was a Cyclop lover and he thought Jean coming back ruined the entire love Scott and Jean had.

and keep her dead this time

this is an edit right?

She still. The adult version atleast.

Teenage Jean Grey and her mind raping ways has scorched earth shit.

At this point, you'd be better fucking serve rehabbing Maddie Pryor and reuniting her with Scott. Especially since all of Scott's problems all began when he abandoned her and baby Cable.

Everything in this thread is totally definitely 100% not an edit

he wasn't wrong, though

>She was my very first comic waifu
What, how? She's boring as fuck. How did she have any appeal to you?

all versions should be dead

not that user but, dude Redheads are the shit

Iceman and Angel are shit have been treated like shit for years and stuck on D list teams like Champions and Defenders. Hate on Jean all you want but at least she had actual relevance to the MU.

Does Jean have nice feet?

How shallow. At least pick a ginger with some substance, like Coleen Wing

I hope she does.

>im the only person on Sup Forums who wants to impregate Jean

Do I have bad taste?

Do you really want your children time-travelling back to the present and never leaving?

Either he likes her as Phoenix, the dangerous, powerful cosmic-fire-goddess, or if he likes the regular version of Jean, other X-women may have been sluttier or wore sexier costumes, but she was one of the wife-material ones.

Part of the appeal of romances like Scott and Jean, or Reed and Sue, or Vision and Scarlet Witch, or Black Bolt and Medusa, was that they were aspirational. What gets dismissed as "boring" is a stable, loving relationship, a thing most people are supposed to want for themselves. Killing it for short-term drama misses the entire point and appeal.

>Also, nobody really tried to make Xavier relevant after Morrison declared he wasn't.
wasn't the X-men legacy run that was centered solely on Xavier after Morrison's run? I kind of liked that one, then again I was still sort of new to comics when I read that one so my opinion might be different where I to read it now.

Or Evil Genius doing experiments with your DNA.

There's that run, and an Excalibur run focused on Xavier and Magneto, but both really keep him apart from the X-Men, as if accepting that Morrison was right about them needing to move past him, and neither of those books really figured out a lasting new role and purpose for him.

No-one at Marvel wanting him to be in charge of the X-Men again, and not knowing what to do with him, eventually resulted in most of the AvX writing team choosing to just kill him off.

Me too, me too.

Jean seems really disappointed that he didnt make a move.

I kind of wish he'd come back and they'd explore his moral ambiguity more, the fact that Xavier was stuck on the Headmaster/Mentor roll but nothing beyond that means that he was never meant to be looked trough any other lens than the ones of his students, I want him to own up to his shitty things but also try to admit that he was just doing what he thought was best and explore a little bit more of his mentality. I feel that out of every single X-men character, Xavier was the one with the most wasted potential.

Never mind.
