pure kino moment 2bh

Loved this.

Say what you will about the ending, but this opening scene was KINO/10.

>it was 4:3 squished into 16:9
>not making a new HD scan of original drawings
That small detail kind of made me upset.

>they replaced the sword sound effects for no reason

2nd best part of the finale.

1st best has to be Aku getting his shit kicked in by the stone robot

Smells awfully like GL here

>they didn't have anyone point out how Aku sounded different

I really liked this part but it only made the juxtaposition with the new Aku voice that much more noticeable when he interrupted it.

They also got rid of the horse sounds at the start.

That's assuming the original drawings still exist.

>Smells awfully like GL here
now gurren lagan invented giant robots fighting monsters

Honestly the finale had several great moments.
>The original opening being shown
>Seeing more familiar characters
>The final battle
>Aku Dying
>Seeing Jack's old trainers

Much as the ending itself was disappointing, I thoroughly enjoyed the season as a whole, as well as all the memes and the couch meme that one user has been building over the course of it.

It was one helluva ride.

They sure do, and this was teased forever ago instagram.com/p/BPnucHmFx6p/?taken-by=scott.wills&hl=en

He talks about his own evil a bunch

isnt the point that aku convinced everyone that he's not evil

that was pretty jarring desu

>isnt the point that aku convinced everyone that he's not evil

That was only for Ashi and her sisters because cult, the rest of the world knew he was evil

Why did they have the new intro and then this intro right after it? What, could they not find a better use for time? Were two openings really necessary?

>isnt the point that aku convinced everyone that he's not evil
Nigga, since when? He's always flaunted his evil over everyone, hell, his whole raise to power was basically "nigga, I'm evil as hell, do what I want or I'll kill everyone you love."

The only time he ever tried to portray himself as a good guy was in the episode where he told a bunch of kids stories to make himself look cool.

As much as i liked hearing Mako's voice again i found weird Aku showing the Damurai kicking his ass to the whole world.

I was worried they were going to get all meta with it and say it was all just a show.

I assumed everyone in the world knew the story by then, he was just reiterating it.

>highly anticipated final episode
>have audiences within the show captivated by the HYPE
That's some pottery at work right there.

They had done that joke before. Not quite as you describe it, but that had.

Stop being such a tryhard

Integrating it into the story was pretty cool and it also served a purpose in the narrative, for it allowed both Ashi and the rest of Jack's allies to know that he intended to go back to the past and undo the future that is Aku.

Yeah but just don't have the new opening and only use the old one. Start with a cold open.

>final episode explains the origin of the opening sequence
So good.

He calls himself "The Shogun of Sorrow"

FOR THE SAMURAI!

FOR JACK!

Wait, are we going to stop Genndy?

How so?

If you killed yourself I'm sure it'd be kino.
