It's that time Sup Forums. Get it off your chest

I actually like nuPPG.

It's not as action packed as PPGclassic but it's more charming in a way. I like the format of "day to day silly life of these 3 girls who happen to be superheroes"

Besides, anything is a refreshing palette cleanser after PPGclassic's later seasons.

I actually like the frequent Mabel hate threads because it feels cathartic to talk about the things wrong about her when the show acted like she was practically perfect

Also, it's a small thing, but I like that Buttercup calls Bubbles "Bubs". I think that's cute.

I can't enjoy Rebirth Superman because of the art. Every time that I look at the kid, it looks like I'm looking at the face of a really awful piece of Shadman's art.
Neil Gaiman's The Sandman is the only thing that makes me reflect about my life. It confuses the hell out of me that a comic book is the only piece of media that makes me do so.
Anyone can write a story, but many people have this idea that you need to have some drawing skill to tell it. You don't, but I can understand why you may want the skill of drawing.
Speaking of drawings, don't waste your potential in drawing characters that are not yours. Nothing is wrong with fanart, but take a dive and try to make something out of the characters that you have in your head.

I love Rebecca Sugar and wish she had made Steven Universe on her own as a comic or something instead of handing it to a bunch of people she hired off of Tumblr to work on

These threads never show up when I have something to say and only show up when I've forgot, stopped caring or am too distracted.
As such I don't think they're bad but they've yet to serve any purpose on my end. Sup Forums seemed to handle them better these were on Sup Forums right? I swear I saw them there years ago. Fuck me, it's all blending into one vague memory soup. This is how old age starts, but that's likely because Sup Forums is a constantly boiling pot that needs as much venting as it can get.

I think Mabel was fine and all the hate comes from the fact that she's a girl.

She wasnt perfect, but with how bad everyone got bad in Season 2, the focus on just her makes me think it has to be just that.

Also this, she's like AL Jean, where she is so lax of a showrunner that everyone gets sloppy

>I like the format of "day to day silly life of these 3 girls who happen to be superheroes"
Sounds like you belong on Sup Forums. They have everything from "day to day silly life of these girls who happen to be superheroes" to "day to day silly life of these girls who happen to be living in a zombie apocalypse to "day to day silly life of these girls who happen to be trains".

>comes from the fact that she's a girl.

Something something go back to tumblr
i think her being a girl is the reason she got away with so much stuff in the show, but it's not the reason everybody here hates her

Pretty much this, i love those Mabel hate post keep them coming bois

Slice of life was a mistake.

Im not convinced. Ford tried to break apart the twins because of some grudge with his own brother despite the fact that they work better together, Dipper wasted most of Season 1 and parts of Season 2 pining over Wendy, and the plot never picked up until after that stopped, and Ford/Stan almost caused the apocalypse because they didn't want to shake hands. Nobody talks about that but we have weekly threads with 400+ replies talking about Mabel being mean

I tried to draw Kubo porn, but I can't draw as good as other artists.

I've only watched season one and she drives me crazy. Not as a person, but as a plot device. She is the reason that her brother can never get what he wants.

I do think female characters get unfair hate, but that doesn't mean that no female character ever deserves to be criticized.

early screening and surgical sterilization for autism would have a positive effect on the quality of fiction by reducing the presence of fanatical shippers in fandoms and in turn reducing their impact on content producers.
this will also improve the quality of life of the afflicted, they maintain their shipping habits because of their unresolvable sexual frustration and while they will still have difficulty functioning in society it will be less taxing on them, and those around them.

Well, she gets even worse in season 2

Japan is doing better capeshit than he west and I love it

Oh I dont imply tthat females cant be critisized, I dont even think she's very good either, but the Sup Forums hate compared to everyone else seems pretty ridiculous, at least to me

The only genuinely good capeshit in Japan that I'm aware of is Samurai Flamenco and certain Kamen Rider series.

What's that from?

Tarkin looked fucking great in R1 90% of the time.
Pic related especially was a great shot.

It's the new flavor of the battle manga base, Boku no Hero Academia.
I find it amusing people sing praises of it just because it's a mangaka doing superhero and high school tropes, if this was written by anyone west it would go ignored.

I mean, all of those were pretty reasonable, to an extent. Ford wasn't trying to tear them apart, he felt they should have some time off so they don't get too reliant on each other's presence, which is fair. Dipper pining over Wendy wasn't the focus of every episode, and it's a pretty realistic thing. And Stan and Ford refusing to shake hands was... Well, that entire fucking sequence was entirely pointless and stupid. Still, it was one moment, while Mabel has a ton of shittery that was never addressed - and even in the handshake example, they did admit that they fucked up.

Hold hands* not handshake

Dipper pining over wendy takes up a large chunk of the first season, gets resolved in the second season, then comes back twice more anyways. And when every single viewer and character in the show knew it wasnt going to work out, it was just a massive waste of time. There is no need to sugarcoat it

The actions are stupid but understandable, sure, but that's not much different from Mabel's stupid shit

Developing my webcomic is all I have to look forward to right now. I don't get to work on it for about a week, and it's depressing the everloving fuck out of me.

In that case, chances are YOU would have never heard of it.

"Thicc" meme is fucking annoying and has become less about nice asses and more of an excuse for fatfaggots to push their fetish bullshit everywhere.

I was completely satisfied with Samurai Jack's ending.

Scrawny, gangly girls are the best

I agree. I do like women a bit on fht curvier side but fuck thicc threads are cancer.

Absolutely discussing. How can you appreciate someone so horribly fragile?

Esteban Universo is a good show but it has a shitton of flaws. The things that have brought the show down recently are the shitty animation quality and the issue of storyboarders more or less hijacking the narrative (hello, Zuke). Sugar is a creative and sweet (heh) person but she's terrible at keeping her foot down when it needs to be, so these issues are technically her fault.

Children should be allowed to have shows and other media catering entirely to them, this includes shit with incredibly immature humor like Teen Titans Go. I'm tired of seeing autists trying to police anything directed at children when they find out it has nothing for the adults to enjoy. If we can have shit that's not meant for children, they can have shit that's not meant for adults.

I appreciate them BECAUSE they're so fragile

Uhhh I don't know about that. A Sugar only Steven Universe would have been a very very different thing I'm sure and I would rather have a cartoon that I can watch than a comic.

I have trouble reconciling my intense lust and sexuality with my otherwise reserved and antisocial personality. I'm worried I'll have to pick one over the other to repress.

As for Sup Forums related stuff I have nothing I wouldn't normally share.

Boku No Hero Academia one of the best newer Shounen Jump series.

>if this was written by anyone west it would go ignored.
Well yeah because American comics aren't marketed well at all.

Occasionally I am turned on by Shadman's art. I hate myself for it when it happens, but it does.

Eh. I just can't see being anyone who looks like they'd break if I hugged them, but that's just me.

>palette cleanser
op is a raging homophone

>shitty animation quality
What do you mean by this?
>storyboarders more or less hijacking the narrative
I don't see it that way at all. It's not like Adventure Time where the different boarders fought eachother over what should happen.

I loved the Samurai Jack ending outside of Ashi's hilarious death which could have been good if the line and delivery were better. I thought everything else was solid gold

>What do you mean by this?
Everyone in the show nowadays is grossly off-model for no reason other that the production is a fucking mess and refuses to use references and height charts because of this shit "m-muh anime-like storyboarding process" mentality. It's highly unprofessional and the result is not only heights being all over the place, but anatomical errors while the characters are moving are increasingly more common.

They seem to be getting better in Season 5, but there's still a big chance the special is going to be riddled with off-model characters or weird animation.

>It's not like Adventure Time where the different boarders fought eachother over what should happen.
It doesn't have to be AT levels of bad to have an impact on the show.

I don't like bobs burgers but in real life I'm attracted to girls that look like Tina.
I hate myself

Off model doesn't have that much to do with the animation quality. I get what you're saying though and it rarely bothers me. It bothered me in the recent episode where Steven and Connie were with Connie's dad but it's never bothered me before that. I even like it when boarders like Ian went crazy in the early episodes.

>an impact on the show
I haven't felt any impact. What exactly do you think Zuke was forcing to happen?

>It's not like Adventure Time where the different boarders fought eachother over what should happen.
I wouldn't phrase it like that. The boarders have always had a lot of freedom, that's what made Adventure Time good, and kept the show fresh. If your complaint is that there isn't one clear, linear, overarching narrative, then that's contradictory to what Adventure Time sets out to do anyway.

In Adventure Time it was very clear that there wer boarders who wanted the show to go Sugar's route and there were ones who wanted to go in the polar opposite and do just random shit and it destroyed the show. Because of the boarders who didn't want plot, the plot suffered and because of Sugar and the other plot boarders trying desperately to put in plot the other half suffered. They should have said "these ten episodes are going to be plot" or something like that instead of "go ahead and introduce plot elements but you're going to have to pick up the pieces when they're abandoned next episode".

I, unironically, like Teen Titans Go.

Adventure Time has never been, or was ever going to be heavily plot-oriented. That would've destroyed the show's charm. Why anyone expected it to be so, or even wanted it to be so is beyond me.

You're really missing my point here

>What exactly do you think Zuke was forcing to happen?

He's probably referring to Lapis and Peridot losing what little personality they had to they could become quirky comic relief.

Not really. Your post implies that some of the AT crew intended for it to become very plot driven, which is simply not true. Even Sugar. People are just attributing stuff like 'I Remember You' and 'Simon and Marcy' as having more plot significance, because that's what they're most interested in.

>which is simply not true
It is true. A lot of plot elements were introduced, not just Simon and Marcy stuff and not just Sugar stuff. You think whoever came up with Finn losing his arm expected it to be brought back with so little fanfare? Some of the writers clearly wanted stuff to cary over and be more significant than it was and some were like lolno.

>You think whoever came up with Finn losing his arm expected it to be brought back with so little fanfare?
Yes. There's still a writing team, and those episodes would've been produced simultaneously.

...

BvS is the best superhero movie of all time.

I actually kinda like TTG.

Every time something bad happens to Starfire, enough to make her cry, I start raging and screeching my autism in a visible way
I had to let it out. I couldn't hold it anymore. Never happened to me before with another cartoon character.

I wish she had just stayed on AT honestly
her stuff was always real charming on it

I love Steven universe, I empathize with steven and I want him to be at peace with his mother and detangle his inner conflicts about her like I had to as a teen
Fuck it, I said it, leave me alone

As a POC, I hate the way Marvel is pushing its "legacies".

Like, I get that they want to "diversify" their line-up, but they're just completely inept at writing believable characters nowadays. I WANT to like Ms. Marvel; I WANT to like Miles. But they're just so one-dimensional. And don't get me started on the whole "America" thing.

It's just… I mean, Jesus, how can you spend all this time and effort trying to appeal to people who will NEVER read your comics? And you KNOW they'll never read 'em because they've got the movies now, so they don't have to spend money on trades. And yet, the shit just keeps flowing.

The whole thing just makes me mad.

>As a POC
Stop

but I understand and it also makes me upset,
the characters are fine they way they are
we need more static shocks. good black heroes that aren't one dimensional are getting lost in the shit show hay stack

I agree. It may be popular to hate on SU but a large portion of Sup Forums does like it.

Sorry, bro. Not everybody's born with skin as white as snow. I'm a POC—person of color—and that ain't gonna change for as long as I live, so chill.

But yeah, I'm all for the creation of interesting, three-dimensional heroes. Nothing wrong with that. Hell, if they revamped Static for a whole new generation, I'd buy 3 copies day one.

I'm black too get over yourself you shitlord
>if they revamped Static for a whole new generation

How things are going right now, I wouldn't put to much faith in it, but I would support it and try to see it meet success

>how can you spend all this time and effort trying to appeal to people who will NEVER read your comics?
What. You are literally proof of the opposite.

>fotm shit
>shit manga
lol

Fotm for 3 years

>If I make my characters black a few years from now more black people will read it when I release the pilot!

I hated Mabel since episode 1 but hoped she'd get better. I hate this kind of obnoxious stupid child character.
>inb4 HURR U HATE FEMALES
I felt the exact same way about Wirt from OtGW, but at least that show was smart enough to make something interesting with his annoyingness plot-wise. I mean, I still want to punch him and tell him to shut the fuck up every time I watch the show, but at least that's the intended effect. Mabel is just obnoxious for the sake of being lolsoquirky.

You mean Gregg and I never understood this type of mindset. Kids like Mabel exist and while I get that you could see her as annoying it's not like she ruined the show. Gregg was hardly ever annoying. He made a few jokes here and there but wasn't nearly as bad as Mabel. And I don't think Mabel was bad.

>I'm a POC—person of color

You're a fucking moron if you use that term. It's a term used by 20 something white women to lump you all together.

Yes, my bad.
But yes, she did ruin the show for me.
It may exist in real life, but doesn't mean it's pleasant or entertaining to look at in fiction.

Wishing I had the smoky vs. Jasper fight gif. But I completely agree. Then again my favorite episode is frybo so what do I know.

I unironically enjoy Legion's Shadow King much more than any other live-action villain.

Don't worry user. I love the show too even with it's fair share of flaws. It's sort of sad that liking SU, a cartoon show mind you, has become taboo on a cartoon board.

Rebirth is pure unfiltered cancer.

SJ's season 5 was 9/10. The only problem was a rushed pacing because it needed the usual 13 episodes format. Other that that it's amazing.

MoS and BvS are two of my favorite movies
I can't stand Pixar. I think Toy Story 1 is watchable and despise everything else.
I write shipping fanfiction.
I really enjoyed the Iron Fist show and can't understand the hate for it.

Then why are you here?

Yeah he looked fine. When Rich Evans was like "HE LOOKED TERRIBLE!!!" I was just like fuck off he's fine

Whatever makes you feel okay about your obese tumblr girlfriend

It's really good, it's rare that I follow any work religiously like this

Not trying to get into a race argument but the worst was when I saw some guy actually call himself a "Negroid." If he was Melanesian or something I'd get it but if he was just black than Jesus Christ what a pseudo intellectual.

>I can't stand Pixar. I think Toy Story 1 is watchable but I hate everything else

Mabel is not that bad, but she breaks down the story because by receiving special treatment from writing. And that's the only crime that matters. Mabel is not real, people who has to put up with her are not real. But the story she ruins is.

Anyone who is mad about all the future characters in Samurai Jack getting retconned is a fucking idiot who didn't pay enough attention to the original run.

Comic book readers who also happen to be not white/straight/male are not the audience that Marvel is trying to cater to right now. That audience may be small compared to the core readership of straight white males, but it's always existed.

The audience that Marvel is trying to get with their aggressive diversity push virtue signalling is the millennial ID politics tumblr crowd. That audience has proven time and again that they have no fucking interest in actually reading comics, and you're as dumb as Marvel if you think that will change anytime soon.

Brothers

I love the original too

Grant Morrison is the most self-indulgent hack writer I have ever had the misfortune of reading. I have a strong suspicion that he just makes up random bullshit and when interviewed afterward if X means Y he just nods along as if he had planned it all from the start
I don't like JoJo but I think "Is that a motherfucking JoJo reference" is hilarious
Winter Soldier was the last watchable MCU movie
Including Tarkin in Rogue One was absolutely unnecessary. Literally any other Imperial officer would have filled the same storyline purpose without dragging his desiccated CGI corpse through the mud.
Bob's Burgers was never good.
BvS was not the train wreck that everyone likes to make it out to be. Obviously the movie has its flaws and there are definitely things I would change about it but I think some of it just went over people's heads. Same with ASM2

I just wish everyone at Sup Forums would just stop watching shows when they don't like them instead of bitching about it on every other thread.

>fuck fags

Also this

The first season of Wakfu is the pinnacle of cartoons, I honestly can't think of a better thing in cartoon history. It is even better than Band Geeks.

I like diversity in comics, I just feel like Marvel handles it in the worst, most forced way possible.

Samurai Jack is overrated trash and Gendy hasn't made anything worth a single fuck since Dexter's Lab

Steven Universe was okay, even the townie shit.

Kingdom Come was an amazing comic, fuck you guys.

TFA is not even that bad of a movie, but everyone is too busy jerking off over the "its a episode 4 remake, mary sue" memes to even care.

Secret Empire and Hydra Cap are probably the only good things coming out of marvel comics right now

You guys get super anal about quips way too easily

I hate how we can't have a decent Legend Quest thread without it being a massive Teodora creep fest

Samurai Jack season 5 was alright

I loved the ending too. I think they could have made it better if they had 5 minutes more to sell some scenes

I'm pulling more Marvel than I am DC

Tron uprising is the best Sup Forums show of the 2010s.

Even as someone who likes fat chicks it's getting out of hand.

I think BoJack Horseman is the best current cartoon and I wish more shows would try to mix serious and funny the way it does.

I never seen the original series. It looked kind of gay. I wouldn't have even watched TTGo because of it until CN started playing it constantly and it was on in morning when I woke up when the TV was left on [adult swim].
