I'll be very disappointed if Dunkirk doesn't win Best Picture this year.

Who's even seen Lady Bird or Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri?

I'm sick of Art House films always getting all the nominations...

dunkirk is shit

who gives a shit what wins.

I can see why a lot of people love this movie. While I enjoyed it. For me it just lacked any tension. None of the attacks on the men was really impactful .You got a sense of fear. But because there is no real scenes of horror or desperation. I think the ship sinking was the only slightly tense moment.

>giving a shit about the oscars

dunkirk wont win because its full of straight white males

The part where they're hiding in the beached ship and it starts getting shot at was pretty tense for me

Nolan? Is that you?

>I'm sick of Art House films always getting all the nominations...

Ladybird and 3 Billboards aren't even artsy. Maybe you should watch movies other then whatever the generic war movie of the month is,

>Who's even seen Lady Bird or Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri?

umm, me?

Dunkirk was even worse than TDKR. Nolan is a hack

I have seen that cliche scene in too many movies for it to have any real impact. I mean a bit of blood and horror from actually getting bombed by a Stuka may of added to the authenticity of their desperation. But only small groups of them are ever shown in any real danger.

Hell the movie makes it seem like getting in the boats was a worse idea than staying on the beach.

Blade Runner is king

the characters didn't have any buildup, i didnt gave a shit who died and who didnt

>wow tons of soldiers died wow you should feel sad heres a lingering camera shot with dramatic music

no. Fuck off, nolan

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

tell me user, what do you think deserves it?

Yes it is stranger.

The last time a remotely "art house" film was nominated for best picture was The Thin Red Line in 1998

Well lets see if Dunkirk passes these test for Best Picture,
>does it have a PoC
no
>does it have a fair representation of sexes
no
Welp that's it folks.

It has like 2 Morrocan guys with no speaking roles, most likely French Foreign Legionnares. They’re on for like 7 seconds.

Why does not having a fair representation of sex have anything to do with a war film??

>the explosion when he was underwater and he had to cover his ears
that looked painful

Yeah right, a movie made by a straight white male, ABOUT a whole bunch of straight white males fighting for their survival is gonna clean up at the Oscars, and especially the BAFTAs.

Nolan and Villeneuve won't win jack shit in current year when they're up against women, nignogs and fags.

no story
no characters
nothing happens

Please don't joke about Get Out winning anything.

>Lady Bird and Three Billboards
>arthouse
Arthouse films never get nominated. Dunkirk is more of an art film than those two. You're just a colossal faggot.

Fuck off, piratecuck faggots

>b-but muh theater experience

the oscar judges will get a DVD.

>They still watch films on DVD
No wonder the winning films are always shit.

in fact didn't nolan refuse to allow screeners for interstellar?

i'm torn between dunkirk and br2049.

How do you know a director is great?

How do you judge if a director is good or bad if you don't know EXACTLY what the director did, what did he tell the actor to do, the cinematographer, the composer etc. , did he have script input (credited or not) and if yes, then what EXACTLY that input was, to not mistakenly blame/praise the director for someone else's choices?
