Realistically speaking

Realistically speaking.
How long would it take to end all crime in gotham?
I can't really see it going on for more than a few months with Bats around.

>Ending crime

Son...

by becoming Big Brother

In other words, for mainstream Batman, never.

Ancient curse forever cementing status qou aside:
>Multiple Mafia families that essentially bribe police and government officials to look the other way
>Quarter of the citizens are mentally ill sociopaths
>No death penalty
>Only asylum that house them act more like jail cells then rehabilitation centers waiting to take them in and throw them out
>At worst Batman brakes an arm and a rib and put you in said asylum where they patch you up and throw you back out into the world again
Batman isn't so much an answer to the problem as much as just a setback to it.

Bruce Wayne could end crime faster than Batman could.

Gotham is cursed to forever be a crime ridden hellhole

>kick all the mob bosses out of Gotham
>take over their businesses and drug/weapons operations
>train hundreds of angry and stupid young people to protect those businesses and do your bidding
>organized crime in Gotham is over
Joking aside, I kind of want a story about Batman going off the deep end like that

That kinda reminds me of sons of Sons of Batman

They tried that once in War Games. Batman had a contingency plan to take over all organized crime in the city. Stephanie Brown set it off and it ended poorly.

You couldn't? Not literally end it.
And actually Batman's methods are one of the worst possible ways to fix the problem if you only take into account his work as Batman and nothing else.
Violence doesn't solve problems, it just changes the existing nature of the problem into something else; sometimes it changes it positively, sometimes negatively, depending on the situation.
Batman's physical methods would be an effective band-aid, removing some of the more violent offenders, but he'd need to take out-of-costume steps to make anything better afterword.

Actually, cooperating with Gordon as Bruce Wayne would help moreso then his work as Batman due to how much power a Police Commissoner actually has politically.

If you mean removing the supervillains, then actually that would be easy; all of them would be easy to charge and since Gotham is an NYC stand-in almost all would get the death penalty too.
Ironically the one villain that would be hard to charge with anything is the Penguin.

In addition, traditional Mafia-style organized crime has REALLY taken a downturn; the east coast classic Italian mafia guys are massively less powerful then they used to be today.
One of the problems with their organization is that with their extremely strict hierarchy and rules you really just need to arrest a few key guys in middle management position and the entire structure takes enough of a hit that lower-ranking guys go brankrupt and money becomes less easy to come by up on top of the food chain.

Depends on how much of the constitution you want to burn

He can't. Batman himself is a criminal.

Gotham's underbelly must have the worst case of CTE by now. Goons probably get KO'd once a month by Bats or one of his ilk.

"Realistically speaking" you cannot eliminate crime.

You have these extremely rich people who are making their fortunes off of crime, and as long as they're around people will work for them to make money, and even if you take out those rich people somehow someone else will step in to take their place.

The only way to eliminate crime would be to make a police state with cameras in everyone's houses and robot police patrolling all over the city.

Didn't it fail because Stephanie didn't know the full extant of the plan?

breaking all of the windows in the city stopping people from stealing porn, comics, movies, children, music, internet, cable. gotham has a lot of folks. and it's not just the gimmick mooks who're weirdos. imagine the type of nutcase that lives in gotham.

beating up guys selling loosies. rounding up illegals for ICE. no selling pot or smoking it. kids can't booze without waking up paralyzed.

you live in a home with a pile of shit that can't be cleaned. flies come in and it's your job to not kill them and take them outside. you also have an open window so the flies come back in.

Throwing money at a situation won't solve it. He's rich, but there's too much bureaucracy for him to go through to get any progress made.

I think as far as low level criminals go Batman would go a long way in stopping them. As long as he stays a rumor, something mysterious and to be feared, your average mugger isn't going to risk it and will skip town. Only the major villains will stick around, and there's only a handful of those, and only a couple are lose at any one time, so it should be relatively peaceful.

>How long would it take to end all crime in gotham?
Depends on who is involved in ending it. Bane would end all crime in about a day. Most Green Lanterns could do it in a few hours. Darkseid would just obliterate the city, granting a technical victory of terms.

Yeah, she knew how to arrange things to get the major crime lords into a place where they would be willing to listen to one man who would then essentially lead Gotham's organized crime in a more peaceful fashion, but she didn't realize that one man was Matches Malone, one of Batman's undercover alter egos
Still not sure how the fuck you get deep enough into the Batcomputer to find Bats' absolute worst case scenario folder and not figure out that Batman and Matches are one and the same guy, but hey, Stephanie wasn't the greatest at her job

How long did it take the justice lords to end all crime?
