ITT: Tropes you love

>character has decidedly "evil" powers(dark energy, mind control, etc.)
>is one of the good guys

Creepy power or powers you'd think a bad guy would have on a good guy are always great.

It's part of what makes Spider-Man great.

Even better if they start out as a villain first.

>Long-haired tomboys
>Shy/cowardly tomboys
>Characters with girly appearances but tomboyish personalities

>villain has a tragic, sad backstory
my shit

Wouldn't an evil character with evil powers also be a trope?

>Villains join the good side not because of sincere change of heart, but for survival's sake.
>They start to believe the message as time goes on
>One switches back to the bad side, again for the chances of survival
>They switch back to the good side because it's right

>show has continuity
>some episodes end with the villain cleanly winning
>bonus points if it doesn't get returned for multiple (unrelated) episodes

>throw something off screen
>glass shatters
>cat yowls

...

That filename reads as "Jin x Good" for me.

>doesn't use the most famous example of ALL of that

>The villian is actually way stronger than the protagonist and had a shot at killing him but is held back from that not by power but by his own flaws
It keeps the villians threatening but prevents powercreep, also it nicely expands the character of a villian and makes him feel more human.

it''s not contest

On Sup Forums, everything is a contest. Yes, EVERYTHING.

>in a universe full of literal monsters and omnipotent beings, the ordinary human villain is the scariest

>It's the group coward does a self sacrifice

This is a shitty trope. It's basically Bond Villain Stupidity with a lameass justification attached.

I concur

>character betrays group for semi valid reasons

>the group never stops thinking of him as one of their own and forgives him

...

Good fetish.

Even better when they are mechanics.

I like how sped up the back stories, unlike Naruto who has a shit ton of back stories for characters that don't matter.

Also felt bad when his whole class telling him he could be a rapist or criminal lmao XD and he gives the look like "I don't want to do that."

Was literally just about to post this. Best example by far, I love this character.

Fucking this. Loved that episode.

I agree

tomboys are damn cute in cartoons and in real life

Calm down, there.

>the antagonist respects the protagonist

>Naruto

Damn right. Too bad I don't know any

>Villain possesses a female's body to seduce hero with giving up info and fucking him

>female villan with a low voice

Dinobot really was the best character in the series.

>genuinely nice person finally snaps out and make the jerks paid what they have done
This always make me happy

>MC's mom gives in towards her urges and just views him as good dick

...

>Huge muscular/beefy character
>Super nice guy

I said semi valid

>female

>implications of not

>Character looks like a huge thug/monster
>Is one of the nicest characters on the show

>Heroes are fighting villain
>Realize they cant beat it
>Figure a way to get main villain to come fight new villain

>final battle
>music has lyrics or is a remix of the show's opening

Death Jr. was a great read, its a shame there were only three issues.

>male MC and female MC are close friends
>shown to have a platonic relationship throughout the series
>they suddenly hook up near the end

Mfw

This
It's crazier if you've heard the song with no lyrics then bam

Its had lyrics this entire time

This

>tides turn when the lyrics kick in
Good shit.

How are Spider-Man powers creepy? yeah i get he can lift like 30 tons and have speed, but he's not that intimidating

>butt monkey of the group is revealed to be the most powerful character

>side character fights big bad
>the fight is amazing.

>big, scary, tough looking character
>is incredibly nice and likes cute animals

>"Are you crazy? This isn't a cartoon"

>comic relief villain tries to take on the main villain

>"Is someone hiding in there?"
>"... no."

>character has a really shitty disguise like a fake mustache
>everyone falls for it

>joke about the characters being actors on a set

>character walks in to a job interview
>tells the recruiter/boss/whatever "I'm hired"
I feel like this is more common but I can only think of one instance of it (Toffee from Star Vs.)

>show starts off with a villain far too powerful for the heroes
>they are defeated once the heroes are strong enough
>new villains, each one stronger than the previous one keep coming
>first villain returns from the dead or exile or whatever
>they are aware of how weak they're in comparison to the rest of the heroes and their new villain
>find a way to become even stronger, dispose of the newest villain and take their place

>Trapping people in webs, crawling on the ceiling.
Spiders are typically associated with evil.

>Evil character who doesfourth wall breaking shit/acknowledges that they're in a show/cartoon

Example? This sounds fun.

I think one of the Ben 10 series did this with Vilgax.

>Villain faction consistently remains a threat no matter how strong the hero gets

>Neutral party kicks both sides' asses and tells them to fuck off

>Character is ugly in a way that fits with their powers.

>Character with wacky powers goes straight for a regular, non-nonsense beatdown

>love this trope
>can never find series with it since I would be spoiling it for myself

>Character is ugly in a way that fits with their powers.

Literally like 40% of the planet in My Hero Academia

>eastern European episode
>country ends in -istan
>the entire population consists of impovireshed dirt farmers and a man with a very big hat

I'm drawing a blank on who'd fit the bill from that show, granted I only really know it from the frog girl. And when I say ugly I mean like a guy who controls wasps has a hunchback because he keeps a hive there. Or a guy with super strength has giant, grotesquely detailed muscles that look like tumors.

They said 40% of the planet, not 40% of the main characters. There's a ton of uglies in the background, like that fucker with the big lips and the guy made of dominos

>villain goes for the long con and doesn't reveal it's a ruse until after the third kid

Well shit, gonna have to check it out now.

there are beak and glob herman types of characters in the background every so often.

>guy made of dominos
What?

>Random background character was the bad guy all along

>Clone of a character immediately treated as a separate person in their own right

>Clone and original agree that they're both real at the outset and never fight about it

Why do the Tomboy mechanics always die?

Yeah Spiders are really scary user, but Spider-man dosen't seems intimidating at all

Saint seiya?

Can someone post the pages from Origin of Species arc? I don't have them right now.

What show? That said I don't even know too many instances with such mechanos anyway.

I'm just happy one seems to be in Cyber Formula

>Villain is shit but the hero lets them have a win or something because they feel bad
>Male villain kisses female protagonist (or steals a kiss, rather)

Spiderman is not intimidating simply because he decides to not be. Parker is always spouting dumb shit when he fights.
Now imagine he actually he wants to scare the actual shit out of somebody. Just use a costume that is not the red-and-blue friendly neighborood spiderman one, crawl a bit on walls in a dark environment, twist unnaturally just a bit (since he is super flexible and atheltic as well) and boom scary spiderman.
There is fundamentally little difference between what Batman can do and Spiderman can do (except for the super-strength part) it's just that Spidey really doesn't give a shit about psychological warfare.

Alternatively:
>Clone is perfectly aware that they are a clone and accepts it
>As a result is willing to do whatever to help, including sacrificing theirself.

>Character takes on an opponent they know they can't hope to beat
>Acts like its no big deal

>Two villains capture hero
> "We're not killing him until the moment is right!"
> "Yeah sure man"
>First villain has to go deal with something
>Second villain immediately moves to kill hero

>>Female villain kisses male protagonist (or steals a kiss, rather)

ftfy

Take a couple years off from anime and fanfiction and that little problem goes right away.

>Mc almost ded
>suddenly all people that helped and meet come to help him

R.I.P H.R.

Corollary to that:
>Original stops giving a shit about himself because the clone can take his place
>Tells clone to do better and hands over his life to the clone while he fucks off

>Villain betrays the other villains just for the sake of having a more interesting fight

>character starts to rap
>"Yo, yo, yo. My name is X and I'm here to say"

>Male villain kisses female protagonist (or steals a kiss, rather)
RAPE
>Female villain kisses male protagonist (or steals a kiss, rather)
this is cute though

>Slice of life show
>Weird Supernatural Sci-fi stuff happens
>Everything was completely coincidental

>It's a "cold emotionless bastard learns to love something for once" episode

bonus points if the something(someone) is an idealist

>Or was it?
>episode ends

NOSFERATU

>Spidey really doesn't give a shit about psychological warfare.
sometimes he does

>cold emotionless bastard learns to love something for once" episode
>only one character notices it
>they silently agree to keep it a secret

Played straight, and then invoked.

I HATE THIS FUCKING TROPE
At least make the development stick, we want to enjoy it more than once you lazy hack writers.

double standard salad my favorite

I never said it'd be only once, that was the other guy. Fuck that guy.

Kakashi confirmed for best character, but worst Hokage.
